The Attack Wave Pestrepeller¿ is an effective, user friendly and environmentally safe way to combat rodents. The device produces strong sound pressure in the air, attacking the auditory and nervous systems of rodents causing them to abandon their food sources and shelters. The ultrasonic sounds continuously penetrate up to 5, 000 unobstructed square feet. In addition, the Attack Wave Pestrepeller¿ utilizes automatic wave variation, minimizing the chance that pests become immune to the sound. Inaudible and harmless to humans and common pets*, this unit operates totally chemical and battery free, making it the easiest way to keep bugs on the run.

Title: Bought this from Word-of-Mouth recommendation
Review: I bought this on the recommendation of someone I know. They said it had driven all manner of pest, ants, spiders, really all insects and mice from their home. I was skeptical. Here is my initial experience and I'll post an update to this after fall has passed. With in the first few hours, I noticed that crickets seemed to be confused and driven from hiding. Found studies after observing this a few days and noticing an overall reduction in numbers, that said it was effective on crickets.Spider population was unaffected by the unit itself but I suspect the effect that it seems to have on crickets may cause them to vacate and therefore reduce the spiders from lack of prey. After 2 0r 3 weeks crickets are for the most part gone. Spider are becoming less common too. The studies I found after noticing a change confirmed this, no direct effect on spiders but reduction of their food supply. I have also noticed what seems to be an increase in the number of dead spiders. I do not know if this is due to starvation or something else. It is interesting though.I have had mice in the past but have none to my knowledge at present. They tend to seek shelter at the first signs of cold weather so I will see soon enough. After the purchase I found studies that said this was a pretty effective device to keep mice out but only fair at getting results with existing mouse populations. I will likely keep a limited number of traps/poison out just in case. Don't want to relie solely on this.I do not have roaches but let someone use one of the units (I bought 2) that had moved into a rental house that apparently did have roaches with the promise to make a gift of this if it worked to remove their problem. They gave it back as totally ineffective, only thing they said is they seemed to see a little more roaches, if anything, and they would be near, within inches, of the unit. They did not seem confused. The studies I found said the only affect on roaches was perhaps slightly increased activity which used in conjunction with glue traps might make the traps slightly more effective.Ants, fleas, other insects. I can't comment on since there is no problems to remedy. All the studies I read after the fact said there was no affect on ants. Other insect no affect to limited results depending on species. My main reason for purchase was mice. I will update after I have experienced a season with this repeller.I wanted to add, these were advertised as treating up to 5000 sq ft unobstructed. I do not think they work well thru walls. My reason is with the 2 units I purchased the areas I have them in (garage and large kitchen/LR combo crickets are gone. I simply do not see or hear any. In adjacent rooms however, BR's, baths, etc., there is still a number, but it is dwindling, with the room farthest from the units having a larger number still present. Also there is a faint clicking sound from the unit, which is normal, but in the owner's manual it says some people are bothered by it. It doesn't bother me and is inaudible from say 8 feet or so. Just wanted to mention that so you'd know.Let's say I am somewhat impressed with this purchase at this time, more to come. It's been another couple of weeks since my review and I have noticed that the large black field crickets are a little less affected. They do venture in but don't stick around. We have had a cold snap for around 1 week, cool enough that mice would begin to move inside. A relative has found a couple in their home already. I have yet to see any evidence. No poison has been touched as of yesterday (10/09/12) and no mice in traps. It is 10/25/12 and no mice or any evidence thereof. Up until a couple of days ago it had remained pretty cool with overnite temps in the mid to upper 30's and it still is around 42-46 at nite now. Next week the forcast is 30 (perhaps less) overnite and upper 40's to 50, but I am beginning to be a little more impressed. It is 11/10/12 and no mice I know of. It's been cool enough, long enough, that they should have moved in by now. I believe this to work well in deterring mice from entering. It may cause them to enter other structures like your neighbors homes instead of yours. I know 1 of my neighbors complained to me in passing she had caught a couple mice in traps and stomped 1 to death because it was disoriented from poison (?). Told her about these. I would recommend these to anyone but advise not totally re-lie on them using a few strategic traps and bait boxes to ensure no problems. Better safe than sorry.I hope this helps! Have a good one!It is January 2015, I have moved in with a family member to care for them and my home is currently unoccupied. Utilities, including moderate heat maintaining about 60, have been kept. I have kept this working and placed fresh poison in the fall when mice enter more readily. I have no mice. I have found 2 dead from poison, which means they had set up residence in the house. I wonder if some mice are more tolerant. Spiders, crickets, and so on do enter. With exception to spiders, insect populations are minimal but must be large enough to maintain a less than moderate spider population. I do not know if this item is where the credit should be given, but these are facts, at least, in my case. Do I recommend this. ????? It can't hurt, and seems.... to help!

Title: THEY REALLY DO WORK!!!!!
Review: You must make sure that you have enough units and they are NOT blocked by floors or dampened by carpets. Keep them off of the ground and elevate them so the sound waves can travel in the air, at least a minimal of six inches if placed on a floor, if you have carpets you may need to raise them higher. But not too high either, near the edge of whatever you prop them on. The unit is beveled to direct the sound waves which should not be blocked but placed on a flat surface near the edge, not directly on a floor which limits the distance the waves can travel. Think about ways to allow the most coverage of the waves from one point to another, this is the most important thing to know about these units and probably why most people who use them don't see the results they desire, remember they have over a 180 degree radius so take advantage of it and try not to limit your range.I'm aware about the ranges the manufacturer lists but that might be true if you lived in an open air area with no wave dampening furniture, no carpet and perhaps all hardwood floors but most of us don't so forget about having one unit every 5000 feet or so. Make sure you have enough of them, this is equally important. If not then they will go to the areas where the waves aren't!!!! In my home I use three of them on each level. One in the front projecting sounds towards the middle, one in the middle of the house and one in the rear.I've had these for about six months and they are absolutely phenomenal, we cannot have a cat; by the way please keep in mind if you have rodent like pets or any animal these may not be for you!! Some animals have sensitive hearing and might not be able to live comfortably with these devices!!! I've used everything including gallons of peppermint oil to the point my family became nauseous by the smell, but it would only work when the odor was barely, bearable. You must make sure that you have them where the sound waves are not restricted. I took great care to point the devices in the areas with greatest exposure to the waves, directly. I live in a row house and I can honestly say these are the BEST things I've ever used to rid our home of mice, bar none!!!Some things you might want to note: The mice will go nuts trying to escape and it will take a little while to see the benefits but as you will see over time they will disappear. We've only seen ONE mouse in the months we've used them, after a brief break in period. Realize that all creatures want to live, so do they, so depending on how bad your infestation was (mine was horrible) to avoid starvation a few from time to time (we have only seen one, as previously mentioned) might risk the ear bursting sound waves, it's only natural. Also, you can hear the units but you'll get used to them they make clicking type sounds which is probably a good thing to let you know they are working. I think if the units were totally silent it would be hard to know.Living in a row house and with these creature's natural curiosity I think the one we saw just the other day was a desperate scout, it looked like it was starving to death, but desperate enough to try, anyway. Haven't seen it since this writing, it might've gone back to one of my neighbors houses, ha, ha, ha!! It was my clue to switch them around, I do this every two months or so. The reason why you want to do so is; although each unit has multiple sound frequencies, they are limited and can be adjusted to over time by the mice, hence to avoid this change them around from time to time. And by the way I've SAVED a lot of cash NOT buying anymore peppermint oil!!! I hope these hints help!! They are GREAT!!!! Take your time, move them around until you feel you are getting the best coverage for the waves to travel from point A To point B. Buy enough units, if not they will go to the areas of least resistance. It feels good being mouse free and not seeing their calling cards on my kitchen table, nightly!!
