Title: Needed to return and replace.
Review: After almost 40 years our old crockpot died. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a large capacity unit and I was wrong. The first unit I received wobbled and the crock was chipped. Returned and reordered. The replacement is perfect.Very large and working well.

Title: Slows cooks stews wonderfully
Review: Easy to use and does what it says! I no longer use the stove to cook my beef ribs, soups and stews. I can open the lid and check on the progress, add or take contents. Itâs big enough to cook food for 8 depending on the meal.

Title: Use this once and you'll be hooked
Review: It is a bit heavy for me to lift and clean, but the pot is fantastic. Good for those who have busy schedules, but still desire to cook. I have been afforded the luxury to blend both worlds. This pot is very large and deep. The plug does not heat up. The exterior does get hot, so be warned if you have little children. No leaking. You don't have to use the seal features on both sides to cook. I like them, but wish they didn't stand out so much when I'm storing it. They seem delicate and easy to break off. A lovely enough item to sit on top of your counters when not in use, without drawing attention.

Title: Skeptical 𤨠- But will give it a Try... (an âExpertsâ Slow Cooker Perspective).
Review: I am usually one to give a Super-LONG review about the products Iâve purchased (and it is no different here â as I want all of you out there not to be BURNED ð¥ as many may have already been so).So let me give you both the SHORT and the LONG version (read the LONG version, if you need more details).SHORT: This Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker is NOT truly/truthfully 10 quartsð¡. And it also has A LOT of quirks you should know about (so read on, for more details, if your interested). Here is the start of the LONG part:I mean, there shouldnât be too much to a [simple] âSlow Cooker,â Right?!? â Donât get me wrong, as I am absolutely PASSIONATE about the Slow Cooking genre. â As it is (in my humble opinion), the very BEST way how to cooks foods, to the point of absolute [tender] food PERFECTION! ððAnd I NEED a [bigger] Slow Cooker, so that I can fit my 9 lb Turkey ð¦ breast into them. But, I have also been BURNED (MANY times), by various Slow Cooker products (Iâm speaking figuratively, not literally - as in, being âburned,â by BAD/junky products). As an example, Iâve [Recently] had to TRASH an âElite Cuisineâ 9qt (by Maxi-Matic).(In fact, Iâve gone through at least THREE (3) of these Monsters [so it would be WISE to AVOID the Maxi-Matic Slow Cooker line, as they seem to be one of those âCheapâ Chinese products]).I know!, I KNOW.... I should have given up, after two, but I LOVED â¤ï¸ its bigger size, which was the the very âLargest,â for its time (plus, it always worked PERFECTLY, from anywhere 6 months to a year ð©).With that, I was somewhat âSkepticalâ when I received my (this) Hamilton Beach 10qt (today), as it looks ð VERY similar to the Maxi-Matic in make & structure (maybe a wee bit, Taller).Frankly, the MAIN problem that Iâve had so far with these [similar] Slow Cooker models, is that their Heatingð¥ Elements will usually [eventually] either, burn out or, just stop working altogether ð¡ð¤¬But enough âBloviatingâ ð§ - let me just run down the Proâs & Conâs of this Hamilton Beach, as I see it (so far).Pros:1) It is a wee bit bigger, being about an inch or so [Taller] - (but see my Con on this).2) I like the âLockingâ top lid (but see Con).3) The top lid is also âVentedâ (with two [2] holes ð³), so steam can escape, being self-bast a little.4) The controls are âOld Schoolâ (which I like), as opposed to the Digital Controls, on most ânewerâ models.5) I do like the Black color, as it âHidesâ stains or scratches (Things that you can more easily see ð in the more common White ones, that Iâve had in the past).6) It does get VERY hot ð¥ [FAST!, so WATCH out!!ð
ð»ð¨] â and KEEP AWAY any plastic object, at least a few INCHES! ð§ð (which is also a Con, somewhat).Cons:1) When I said it was a wee bit bigger I didnât mean by much. The Hamilton Beach SAYS itâs 10qt, but when you test this then it comes out a wee bit SHORT.You see, 10qts SHOULD add up to 40 cups. But, when I tried to put 40 cups into the ceramic pot, I found that the liquid comes ALL the way to the Very TOP rim (and NO ONE is going to fill this up to the very TOP ð¤).More than likely, youâll fill it up to where the LID rest. At this level, the liquid would only reach 9.5 qts (or 38 cups). But NOT 10qts.So this is [somewhat] deceptive ð¡2) The Power Cord is VERY short!! (2 feet, MAX), so you WILL need an Extension Cord.3) There is NO Power Light ð¡ (almost every Cooker Iâve ever had, had a Power Indicator [Light] included â NOT HERE! ð¡ (So youâll have to do what most reviewers have suggested (to know it is on), which is âFeelâ the heatð¥ coming from/off the sides ð¥µ).4) Some reviewers have noted a âBurning Smellâ when you first turn on the Unit. â And this is TRUE!! (Hope this will eventually go away, as many have claimed).5) The Black color is both a Pro, but ALSO a Con (as the color may HIDE left-over food residue [that you CANâT see ð ]). So both Bad, and Good (Break-Even, and/so not a Deal-Breaker).6) As noted, the locking Lid IS nice, but the only PROBLEM is that it is sometimes VERY FINICKY (where, if you donât latch BOTH sides, at the SAME [Precise] time, then one side will FLIP, back up).(This is obviously a [weird] âAlignmentâ issue). Not a âDeal-Breakerâ (Just ANNOYING ð¤ð¡).7) And lastly, the âFitâ of the Ceramic Pot (within the heating container) is VERY âLoosey Goosey,â with about at least a Quarter to Half-inch of Play.Iâve noticed this seems to be a âCommonâ thing with these [Bigger] Slow Cooker models (I just wished these would âFitâ in better).Again, not a Deal-Breaker (as long as it cooks effectively and efficiently, Iâm fine). So (again), as my Title states/implies, the Jury is still out on this Hamilton Beach (I will update, when/if anything Pops up).I mean, seriously, if it works (Last) LONGER than my old [Cheap] Elite Cuisine/Maxi-Matic, then Iâd be OVERjoyed ð(Weâll see ð¤)

Title: Perfect for larger meals
Review: I have several recipes that filled my 8qt to the rim (Carnitas, Chili Verde, Guinness stew, to name a few). Always just barely fit and that was after "adjusting" the recipes avoid over filling. I finally decided to go with a bigger unit and found this one worked out perfect. Did Chili Verde the other night and everything went in with room to spare. So glad I decided on the 10qt. I recommend this for anyone who needs that "little bit" of extra room without having to purchase a "monster" unit that takes up the whole counter.Pro's:Extra room for larger meals (an 8lb Boston Butt fit nicely)Countertop space about the same as my 8qt just tallerCons:No built in timer. This is your basic Slow Cooker with "Warm, Low, High" selection. This is not a big deal to me because I use a mechanical timer to set the start/stop time.

Title: IT WORKS!
Review: Looks good and heats quickly! My sister in law cooked ribs in it with BBQ sauce and they were fall off the bone delicious! (Her words).I can't stand boiled meat but to each their own.Put it on high and 3.5 hrs later they were done! Great product and I'll be buying more because I like cooking fruit in them for preserves. You don't need to constantly stir them and once. Cooked you use an emulsion blender to puree if you make apple butter they're perfect. They also make the best tomato sauce! Just leave the lid off after cooking and let evaporation do it's thing on medium and you have a nice thick sauce.
