The Polaris 9450 Sport provides best-in-class cleaning performance and features. With Vortex Vacuum Technology that enables extraordinary cleaning power without losing suction, the 9450 Sport tackles any pool terrain and climbs over obstacles without getting stuck. The 9450 Sport cleans all pool surface types and scrubs the floor, walls, and tile line with a pleated scrubbing brush. This machine has an all-purpose filter canister that has 4 times the capacity of other similar cleaners. That means fewer filter cleanings (up to 70% less), and lower operating costs (pennies per day). By engineering the machine with top access large capacity filter canister, debris can easily be emptied with a simple shake and spray convenience. Never touch debris again! The 9450 Sport is the only Polaris robotic to feature a new 7-day programmable timer, with fully customizable cleaning cycles. Simply set it and forget it. And, its ActivMotion Sensor allows the cleaner to automatically sense its position in the pool and adapt its path for optimized cleaning while reducing cord tangling. The 9450 also includes a NEW lift system. With the touch of a button the 9450 surfaces to a desired location and waits for you to grab it, then automatically evacuates water for effortless removal from the pool. The 9450 Sport cleans pools up to 50' in length. It weighs just 16 lbs and includes a new premium, compact transport caddy that can be assembled without tools. Model is backed by a 2 year limited warranty.

Title: Wonderful!
Review: Much better than the previous Polaris pool bottom cleaner. We live in Dallas and have 10 trees around the property and privacy screens from prying neighbors and lush landscaping. Every month there is new debris that gets into the pool. Leaves that fall depending on the season, pollen, crepe Myrtle berries, oak tree germination deposits, summer bugs, etc. We got a variable pump to filter the water so the debris stays in the skimmers, but there is still some debris that falls to the bottom of the pool. The pebbled surface of the pool lasts longer than traditional plaster, but it does allow for debris to get trapped between the pebbled surface. The family that designed and built the house were really pros. One of the design particulars was that the pool is positioned so it gets morning, afternoon and evening sun, making it an enjoyable sunny pool experience. The flip side is that in the summer the debris that didnât get picked up by the previous Polaris machine, decomposed and caused algae to grow, especially during the hot Texas summers and was a menace to get rid of. Last year we had to drain and fill the pool the algae was so out of control. We had to get a better system due to the day-long desired exposure to sunlight the pool was designed for because the debris left over created algae. Once out of control, it was nearly impossible to eliminate. We spent a fortune on chemicals and it had to be monitored constantly. When weâre on an extended vacation and when we returned, the algae had taken over.So we needed a better solution. The new Polaris machine was the answer. Our water is crystal clear now and no extra shock or other chemicals are needed now. Back-washing the filter has much less frequency, more than half reduced. It is a stand alone mechanism not tied to the filter system, which is unfortunate, but it doesnât need a separate pump and climbs walls and even cleans the tile at the water surface. It also has a programmable daily cycle so it can work while you are gone, but we havenât tried that yet. It works so well it needs to be emptied more often than the other model we had but that means it is working well. Itâs expensive, but so are chemicals or manually cleaning the bottom in addition with the old Polaris machine we were using, so the algae stays away in our rather large 30,000 gallon pool, that has lush landscaping and all-day exposure to the sun. What a relief! Problem solved and I would recommend it even though it is a stand alone mechanism and your Polaris pump will be deemed obsolete. Well worth the extra cost. And the peace of mind it provides is, well, âPricelessâ! Problem solved.

Title: Robot and cord replacement.
Review: This is my second Polaris 9450 sport. It does a great job with acorns and twigs. You should get about 3 years or so with the cord before it needs to be replaced. If it ever needs a new cord donât attempt to replace yourself and take to a shop. The first time the cord went out, I bought a new one and took it to Leslie pool. Good idea! 3 years later, I thought I needed another new cord, but I believe one of the chains that run the left side wheels came off the shaft and it kept going in circles and I purchased a new cord thinking the cord had gone bad and kept twisting. I attempted to change out the cord myself and itâs a tough job only to find out two wheels were not turning. 6 years and 2 cords later I am a happy camper with this robot. Itâs easy to lift and clean when full and so easy to run with itâs 3 hour time auto cutoff and cleans walls and floor or just floor. Good thing is now I have a new cord when this one goes out.

Title: Works better than anything else - for 2 years
Review: The Polaris sport 9000 series with 4wd is the best system on the market for cleaning. For durability, donât expect more than 2-3 seasons. I had the Polaris back pressure system beforehand - which I think does almost nothing. I got a sport 9550 and it was a vast improvement. It worked great for 2 seasons and the cable went bad and one of the drives broke. So, the cost was almost $500 to fix, so I bought a new one. I got 2.5 seasons, it broke, and I got another. After the third broke after 2 seasons, I switched to 9450 because all of the programming features I find unnecessary and the âremote controlâ drive is a joke and a gimmick that sounds great until you see it does not work well at all. And the programming, if you intend to burst your basket, keep the Polaris in for a week on the program. If you want the basket to stay clean of leaves, debris and DE and all other stuffâ¦. You should take it out, clean it and hose it down once per day. I do that. I have switched to the Remington SUN SHOCK (2 - I have a 28,000 gallon pool) and my chlorine consumption has gone down by 75% (I bet it could go more, but I am keeping a little more than necessary) and I shock the pool once per month (rather than 1-2 times per week). The pool is super clear water. I suspect that this should lengthen the life of this unit. Chlorine kills these things. So, if you invest in one of these and need quite a bit of chlorine (I used to go through 6 3â tabs per week with a 10 tab chlorinator) - I recommend you also get the Remington solar sun shock if you have an outdoor pool. I love those things. I also have a solar breeze nx2 solar skimmer. So, I try to keep the pool as clean as possible with machines. Anyway.., if you really think programming is important on a daily schedule, 9550 and up is better. If you know itâs more important to clean the unit daily amd than just set a 1.5 to 3.5 scrubbing length , then get the 9450. Itâs really all need. I know. Iâve owned 3 9550âs at this house and 1 9450. My parents, the same. Brothers, the same, vacation homes - we all did the same. And we also all switched to Remington solar shock.

Title: Great when it works, but doesnât work long!!!!!!!
Review: I would not purchase one of these for any reason, I have purchased 2 of these in 4 years.. When my pool was first built I was told this was a great cleaner, after 2 years it stopped working with an Error code 10. I took it to the pool builder and he told me he would get it fixed for me and after a month I was told it couldnât be repaired by the Polaris local representative my pool guy deals with. So I purchased a second on thinking maybe it was a fluke and I actually did do a pretty good job when it worked. So my new cleaner has lasted one month last pool season and 2 months this season and now it shows an error code 10!!! I was so ticked off when I saw this I almost threw it out in the yard, I have spent 2000$ on 2 cleaners for not even 4 full seasons, thatâs 500$ a season. I tried to call Customer service with the last one with very little help so Iâm not expecting much this time either, but I am going to try them tomorrow and see.. Iâll update this with my results.. I will say for right now Iâd go with a different brand!!, Good luck to all..

Title:
Review: I previously owned three iRobot pool cleaners having returned two to Costco and giving the last one away as Costco no longer stocks them and I understand iRobot doesn't make a pool cleaner anymore. This product is far superior, easy to cleaner and program plus with the lift feature it is very simple to remove from the pool. I have now had the cleaner for one month and hope that it continues to preform well for the future.

Review: So much better than our older robot. Easy to empty basket, cleans the 20 s40 pool in under two hours including the sides of the pool right to water levelThe only complaint is that it twists the cord in one direction only. It is quite a pain to detatch the cord and untwist it after every use. The last robot we had alternated directions each time so the cord would twist counterclockwise one time and clockwise the next. As a result you didnât have to untwist it yourself after each cleaningOther than that minor inconvenience we love it!
Customers say
Customers appreciate the pool vacuum's cleaning ability, functionality, and ease of use. They find it does a decent job of cleaning, with cleaner brushes and easy-to-remove filter basket. Many customers are impressed with its performance, navigating steps and stairs without issues. They also like the sleek look and ease of removal. However, some have reported issues with build quality, such as filters tearing easily or major breakdowns in less than 2 years. Opinions vary on value for money and cord tangle resistance.
