Title: This guide covers many of the thousands of sport and trad climbs in Joshua Tree.
Review: This guide covers many of the thousands of sport and trad climbs in Joshua Tree. This is a good Falcon Guide of one of the top areas in the country to climb at. The guide gets you there and gives you the basics, but is only short and sweet. The 280 climbs listed do not include bouldering or top-ropes, and lists well-known routes from 5.1 to 5.14, but leaves a lot of nearby climbs out. All major areas of JT are covered but this is only an over-view. Excellent with good photos and basic maps.

Title: Got me covered for a week long trip
Review: I am not a local, and there may be a better overall book that I dont have. For one week though? This was just what I needed. Went there for the climb-smart festival and felt just as prepared as most of the locals for most of the routes. Pics were clear so I could tell where I was and what I was looking at. Falcon guides delivers again

Title: Inch deep, mile wide
Review: This will get you to the major areas, but once you're there you'll only have details on a portion of the routes. It's got good topos and maps, but reaaaaaly limited on routes. It's a small book, this is doubtless a conscious decision made by the author/publisher, but even on a recent two-day trip to Josh with some kids I found the book was lacking.

Title: limited Sport and Top Rope routes
Review: Overall, this book gives a good overview of the different areas of the park, however it lists limited amounts of climbs. If you're aim is sport or top roping, I would not recommend this book. There is not enough information to make a collective day of climbing. We ended up using mountain project for most of our trip.
