Jesse:

A beach vacay with my best bud since college seems like the perfect opportunity to relax, catch some rays, and enjoy a couple of nights on the town. When I find a girl who's eager to mess around with me, I figure I've got it made.

Then, I meet the intense, hot-as-hell, tattooed Eric Westright, who wrecks my world...in the best possible way.

He awakens something within me - something that's always been here, but that's never pulled so powerfully...not until I looked into those solemn blue eyes and felt the red-hot spark of his touch.

There's something about this chemistry that's so intoxicating, and the more I get to know him, the harder it becomes for me to resist these impulses that overtake me - that leave me wanting him to show me what it feels like to have a man inside me.

I know he's fighting too. It's so wrong, but every kiss, every caress, every stroke feels so right. We shouldn't act on these urges, but we can't help ourselves.

First he claims my body, then he claims my heart.

And before I know it, I'm in too deep with my best friend's father....

BFF is a steamy romance, but one of the main characters has a painful past that may act as a trigger for some people.

Title: I feel like I say this often
Review: I feel like I say this often, but yes Devon McCormack is a new to me author and yes....I'll be diving into anything else he has written. This story MIGHT seem like you've read the same thing before. As you start reading it, you are absolutely sure you know exactly where it's going. There are alot of books out there about falling for your best friend's father...but this one is different in many different ways. It is a story about coming out, coming together, falling for someone you really should stay away from, painful pasts and painful presents. Eric is a hot, older man and Jesse has no idea why he feels such a connection to him or why he can't seem to walk away from this attraction that he has never really felt before. Neither of them want to hurt Ty (Eric's son) but the more time they spend together, the clearer it becomes that there may be something there. Circumstances, however, threaten to pull them apart. Whether it is Ty, or either of their pasts, maybe a happily ever after is not in the cards for anyone. Amazing story that yes...ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but so worth every second you spend reading it.

Title: This was a good book.
Review: Not my favorite, but I did finish it. I try to always give 5 stars, but the repetitive issues in this book did make me lose interest a time or two. I can understand hang-ups due to sexual assault. That's a serious issue you never really recover from. But just the on and on about hiding the relationship from Ty got old. I can understand the apprehension, those are very important relationships. I just felt like it could have been mentioned without it becoming what felt like half the story. I would rather have read about their relationship, all the time they spent in the condo connecting. I felt like that could have been expanded upon to really cement their feelings for one another, so we could see just how strong their love is for each other. I did like the plot of the story. I like age gap and taboo stories, but this one felt pretty tame. It was sweeter than I anticipated. They've both had traumatic pasts, and the way Jesse cares for Eric is amazing. I wish more people could be that understanding with rape and sexual assault survivors. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers. I liked this story, and I would like to know what happens next. However, I'm not sure I'm invested enough to read two more books. I did like the book, and I realize I'm not going to love every book by the authors I like. So, I can walk away knowing Mr. McCormack is a good author, and I appreciate the hard work and time he invested writing this book for his fans.

Title: One of my Fav authors hits it again
Review: One of the many important elements of my personal book choosing ways, is the cover. It's key. Devon obviously feels the same when choosing his covers because they're always spot on. Eric is super hot and I was the proverbial fly on the wall while Jesse and Eric fell in lust then love. I didn't think it was rushed. I didn't feel it was unrealistic. Devon is a fantastic visual writer too so I was front and center while Eric and Jesse practically made out on the dance floor ..not that I'm complaining. I liked their chemistry and feel bad about Ty's reaction. I thought it was harsh but I think he'll come around. What Eric and Jesse have is special and I can't wait for the continuation. Thank you Devon for another appetizing, fulfilling, romantic and friggin HOT duo.

Title: I feel cheated ...
Review: I probably was not as disappointed as other 3-star reviewers because they seem to be well acquainted with the author's work; and this is my first time (no pun intended :)) reading him. So I have no problems with the writing, I enjoyed it. What seemed like repetitiveness to other reviewers felt like legitimate new relationship angst to me. And, after all, this relationship is under quite a bit of stress. Jesse's best friend is the son of his older, gay lover. There's a serious age difference between the two men. And, Eric has very serious baggage. And THAT is what frustrated & bothered me about this story - at the exact moment the plot is about to get serious, and seriously interesting - "to be continued" - It felt like a slap in the face. I can't say that was the best decision a publisher (or author?) ever made. I will DEFINITELY scope out reviews before I buy another of this author's books. I feel cheated and let down.I mean seriously, if Eric and Jesse's story was becoming too long ... a few of the sex-n-guilt scenes could have been lost, in favor of one full book. But I guess money is more important. Ha ha, I don't think I'll buy the sequel because, fool me once ... shame on you ... fool me twice - you're not getting a chance.

Title: Favorite Devon McCormack book!
Review: This is the best Devon McCormack book I've read. I've loved all the books I've read by him, both his solo work and his work with Riley Hart, but this is by far the best. I was not expecting to feel everything I am for these characters.Jesse had never been with a man but he wasn't opposed to trying. I loved how once Eric found out that Jesse was a virgin to anal sex he backed off. It was frustrating watching them want the same thing but being unable to have it as neither of them wanted to wreck their relationships with Ty. But it only lasted so long before they were at it again. The sex was hot and everything I expected from this book. But Eric's issues, along with Jesse's compassion and understanding came at a level I wasn't expecting. And I loved that. They built a great relationship and I was not expecting the turn this book took.By the end, once I saw the direction it was heading towards I was in tears. I didn't expect that. I didn't Devon McCormack to evoke such a strong reaction from me. I need more of these characters.

Review: 10 Stars.🌟 Ohh god this book is truly beautiful. I loved this right from page 1 to the end. The feelings you experience with this are huge the laughter, the hot chemistry, the heavy angst and a cry for Jessie and Eric at the end. I loved the huge age difference between them too, issues of past rape and the side of effects are in scenes. Hot chemistry between Jesse and Eric is going to be a problem with Ty around as they fight their feelings..both knowing its wrong for Ty. This is a HFN story which will continue.Jesse is enjoying a 2 week vacation with Ty at his father's place.. Jessie 23 had broken up with a girl and was having fun being single again. He thinks hes Bi but never had the experience with a guy.Eric is 42, a calendar mix up surprises him to see his son and his friend staying at his place. Although Eric though the friend looked cute. Eric meeting Ty for the first time only when Ty was 16 missing his childhood years. Eric continually throws out an olive branch in an attempt to get to know more of his son.

Review: Wow, this was even better than I expected. I thought it would just be edgy and fun, but it was actually deeper and more substantial than that. I enjoyed reading about Eric and his son, Ty, and I love how Eric keeps trying to improve his relationship with his estranged son. It was interesting to read about Jesse’s friendship with Ty too. The negotiation of these three relationships, was rather fascinating. If Eric and Jesse are going to have a serious romantic relationship, as opposed to a short-term fling, then the situation would be very complicated indeed. This story made me think more about age differences between romance heroes. I’m generally much more open minded about large age gaps for same-gender couples than for heterosexual couples. (Save a few exceptions, the “much older man and much younger girl” couple kind of creeps me out, no matter how hot or wonderful the guy is.) A difference of about twenty years is a bit much for me, however, so I had to reconcile myself with this idea.Yet, in the end, what matters most to me is how happy the couple is. I would rather see happy partners with a huge age difference, than unhappy partners who are similar in age.Another thing I liked about this story, is that it was funnier and more lighthearted than I expected it to be. It goes into some heavy topics, but the overall tone of the book is quite light and pleasant. In fact, I imagined Eric to be some hunky, mysterious douchebag, but no, he’s actually a pretty decent guy. I was also glad that we get to read from Eric’s first person POV too, not just from Jesse’s. It’s nice to read about Eric’s insecurities. He’s very handsome and successful, but he’s still so quick to blame and judge himself for things that go wrong. This lack of self-confidence in some areas of his life makes him more relatable. As kind and awesome as Jesse is, he was less interesting to me than Eric was, maybe because Jesse seems to be so perfectly mature and stable. Jesse isn’t literally perfect, but he’s quite close to the ideal Mr Right.Overall, an enjoyable read! I’m reading the next book in the BFF series now. (I like how BFF stands for Best Friend’s Father instead of Best Friends Forever.)
