Title: ‘Taking a break from the seriousness of our lives and the world in general’
Review: Author Bill O’Neill has authored many books on Trivia and stands as somewhat of an expert in this field! His topics include movies, football, baseball, wars, rock music, simply random trivia facts, and US States. Now with a nod to providing interesting reading material while passing the time at home, Bill offers a cascade of stories that provide not only entertainment but also some educational topics!Providing an overview of the topics of interest in this book, Bill outlines his content in the Introduction – ‘It’s a fact that America loves a winner. Whether it’s successful military generals, scientists, entrepreneurs, political leaders, or even athletes and sports teams, there’s no doubt that Americans like to see success stories. And there are plenty of success stories throughout American history, beginning with the successful American Revolution, the creation of the government, and nearly 20 years of inventions, innovations, and numerous other victories and high points. But mixed in with all those countless success stories have been some pretty epic fails!...Some better-known fails – such as the Chicago fire, Exxon Valdez tragedy, and 1984 presidential election – are covered in this book, but with an emphasis on what made these fails so epic, and at times unique.’In this book are some of the strangest and most fascinating facts that we never learned in school – or out of school! Among the many interesting stories are a slew of historical facts…E.T. was a great movie but the video game sucked, Milli Vanilli and lip synching vs. real singing, the failure of the First and Second Banks of the United States, Facebook isn’t unique – Myspace came first, the failure of the expensive movie Cleopatra, the many failed marriages of Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Wallace running for president on a Pro-Stalin campaign, Edsel (enough said!), The Elixir sulfanilamide scandal, …a total of 52 Fails – that startle and make us gasp. Not only is the book entertaining – it is also very instructive. For those familiar with Bill O’Neill’s talent for tickling the brain, this book is a must read – one of his best. For those who are simply looking for solid entertaining reading to while away the hours, welcome to the field expert! Highly recommended – especially during these times… Grady Harp, March 22

Title: This Is An Interesting Book About Some People's Failures.
Review: While it is great to be successful, we're all human and not infallible. Therefore, there are bound to be some failures. This is an interesting book about some of the failures of some people. Some of the interesting information mentioned in this book include the following information: Before Facebook, there was a social media website called My Space. My Space rejected an offer from Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook to be bought out. As time went on, Facebook overtook My Space beginning in the year of 2008. A lot of people felt that Facebook was easier to use. My Space continued to still exist, but in a relatively lonely way. Lehman Brothers began before the Civil War with Henry and Emmanuel Lehman as co-founders. Lehman Brothers declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the year of 2008. It was claimed that it was the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history. Although the author of this book didn't mention it in this book, some people had investments in Neuberger Berman mutual funds. Neuberger Berman was not subject to the bankruptcy proceedings of its parent company, Lehman Brothers. The fully paid for securities in the Neuberger Berman mutual funds were segregated from the assets of Lehman Brothers and were not available to the general creditors of Lehman Brothers.

Title: Fun book with some interesting facts!
Review: Fun little book full of interesting and weird facts/fails. Both my 12yr old and I enjoy picking something interesting out of it for reading time. Useful info that will change your life, probably not so much. Learning that the US Military in the 1800's experimented with having a Camel Corps division, well, that was something.

Review: I don't do book reviews like you keep seeing, as I find that some give too much of the plot away and I personally hate that, as it makes the book not worth reading. I much prefer to take the authors back cover write up as a review as it can either intrigue you enough to read the book of provide you enough information to make you decide that the book is not for you.My review rules are: The more stars, the more I liked it.If there are too many typos or errors the less stars I giveIf the storyline or plot is poor or contains too many errors, the characters are too weak, the ending lacking something, then the less stars I give.Simple, uncomplicated and to the point without giving anything away. Some of the books I read have been given to me by the author as a pre-release copy and this does not bias my reviews in any way
