Title: Pretty Awesome Mask
Review: I bought this for scuba and I’m new to scuba, so I suppose I don’t have a huge frame (pardon the pun) of reference on this, but I love this mask. At first, I did experience some issues: water was seeping into the nose and filling up the bottom of the mask. Because of that, my first dive with this mask was pretty miserable because I was constantly clearing it. I tried another mask and had the same problem, so we theorized that I was the problem, not this mask. I wondered: Is my face oddly shaped? Am I tightening the mask too much? Will I ever be able to scuba dive again? Alas, it suddenly occurred to me to try wearing the mask differently; i.e., lower on my face. Voila! Problem solved. The mask fit like a glove from my second dive onward. I never experienced another leak. It was remarkably effective. Once I also figured out how to properly apply anti-fog (soap) and not to over tighten the strap, this bad boy was crystal clear. I loved the wide and clear field of view it provided. I just love this mask. Very confident in it. Very soft padding. I love the low profile. As with anything, it’ll take a few tries to get it right (1-2 dives in my case), but I feel like it’s perfect. Maybe a more experienced diver would’ve gotten it right on the first dive! Anyway, I don’t leave reviews often, but this mask brought me a lot of enjoyment, so it’s very much deserving. I highly recommend it.

Title: It felt so good I bought the company... not really, but I did buy the misses one.
Review: I love it... but I haven't officially taken it on its maiden voyage yet. This mask has yet to get wet. Lemme esplain it to you. Last year my fiancé and I went snorkeling in Maui and in Kona. We believed we purchased above average masks at the time.... because the salesman at Sports Authority said we did. I know, buyer beware, right? Well, I'm super glad they are going out if business now. Two words, Kar Ma! Anywho, those masks leaked more than Edward Snowden on a self righteous embassy binge. No matter the adjustment, they leaked. So, upon returning home, I started looking for their replacement, and every site I looked at had the Atomic Venom Frameless with Gummi Bear Ultra Soft face seal in their top five recommendations. Uh , hello Mr. reviewer, you had me at Gummi Bears.... but the $$$$ at the end of each review didn't excite me, so I never purchased them.... Yes there is a point to this review. You've made it this far so stick with me. Fast forward to almost a year later.. or last week on 04/03/2016, I pulled out our last years Sports Authority equipment and put the mask on and asked myself, " Do I want to go through the leaky mask aggravation again?" and " How much would you have paid at the time you were diving to not have a mask that is ruining the best day ever with your fiancé?" The answer was simple, no I do not want to go through that again, because this time I will not be snorkeling with my fiancé, I will be snorkeling with my new wife! Who wants to fudge that week up? Not me? So I ordered it and it was delivered in less than 24 hours later... crazy I know. When it arrived, I pulled my old mask back out and tried it on for reference. I then opened the new mask. The AVFM ( That's what we in know affectionately call it) comes in a nice little carrying case. Initially, I wasn't impressed because its folded rather flat and compact, and the first thing that came to mind is," I've been Sport's Authoritied again!" That's me falling to my knees with my hands in the air just like Andy Dufresne sans the sewer, lightening and rain. However, as I held it I could immediately feel the difference in texture compared to my old mask. The AVFM had a moist feel to it that was comforting to the touch, it was pliable, soft and completely opposite of the unforgiving hard shell of a mask that we have. I pressed the mask against my face without putting the strap around my head, and I was excited, because the mask was gripping my face an contours without any hard surfaces coming into contact with my facial features. The nose felt soft, roomy and unrestricting, while sturdy and well constructed. It felt great, and I completely understood why they used the term Gummi Bear technology, because it describes it best. It is incredibly comfortable and though I do not know it to be certain, it feels as if I can wear it under water without the having continually tighten and adjust. I walked around with it on like the nerd boy I am and it felt natural to do so. So there you have it. I will follow up with a more detailed review after we return from Maui this year. I am hoping this mask is everything it feels like it can be. On a side note, my fiancé was so impressed with it's comfort and contouring ability, we ordered a red one for her the very next day.

Title: High quality mask... that didn't fit my face.
Review: As a quick disclaimer, this was ordered with a Hollis M1, and a much cheaper option, the Cressi Lince - in my search for a better-fitting mask to avoid the dreaded dive-ruining leak-fest.Spoiler alert, I ended up with the Hollis M1, but *really* wanted to keep this one instead.LIGHT TRANSMISSION/CLARITY:First a start, the Venom Frameless seemed next-level in terms of light-transmission/clarity. Allegedly the Hollis M1 claims super high transmission, but this one just crushed it in the eyeball test. Incredibly clear.VISIBILITY:Paired with the optical clarity (above), the shape really promotes pretty amazing visibility, both laterally, as well as vertically. This one had the best range of visibility, followed closely by the M1. The Cressi was basically tunnel-vision in comparison to both and was instantly out of the running (not that it fit well anyway).MATERIALS:Again, the Venom definitely seemed to surpass the M1 (and obviously the Cressi). The skirt material was incredibly soft and high quality [feeling]. The design slick and just cool-looking overall.COMFORT & FIT:Alas, this is where the Venom failed me... the seal was OK (not great), but more importantly, the hard ridge over the bridge of the nose dug in painfully, and that's doing a simple mask-fit in my studio. Can't imagine this under water, at pressure... it really boiled down to Hollis M1 = no pain (and great seal), Venom = pain. I wanted to keep them both, realistically... but I'd never be able to wear this one in comfort. Here's to hoping they come out with a mask for my nose shape.I'm giving it an overall 5 stars, because I feel like it's a great mask design, just not one that fits my face (that's not a fault in manufacturing, just the nature of masks... they'll fit some, not others).

Customers say

Customers like the comfort, clarity, and design of the dive mask. They mention it sits on the face very comfortably, the glass is noticeably clearer to look through, and it's a great everyday universal mask. Customers are also happy with the soft seal and value for money. However, some customers differ on the fit, fogging, and leakage.
