Title: How to catch a thief!
Review: After a 4:am visit from LVMPD regarding suspicious activity on my street and neighborhood, I spent several hours researching security camera surveillance systems. After determining my needs and many other factors including NOT needing fancy bells and whistles. Just a solid, reliable, functional, simple and affordable security camera system and the fact that it came with a 2T hard drive didn't hurt my feelings. Most of the others were 1T for about the same price. It came down to three candidates. I'm so glad I chose the "Firstrend 8CHL Wireless NVR System". Mainly because the cameras are factory linked to the NVR before they're shipped. Truly is Plug & Play! You'll definitely need an HDMI Monitor or TV to get started. I just happened to have an old 2008 21" 1080i TV that I could use as a monitor. (See Pics). I spread everything out in my home office, plugged everything in, followed a few simple instructions and BAM! there it was. 4 very clear images on the monitor! Couldn't have been happier! Now the real work begins. These are powered, hard wired cameras. 110vac power supply to each camera is needed. The cameras themselves were very simple to mount but It will take some thought, enginuity and a bit of craftyness if you are like me and didn't have a power supply anywhere near where I wanted to mount the cameras. As you can see by the pics, I managed to get power to all of them. Just took a couple days of climbing through the garage attic, pulling wire and mounting elec. boxes etc... but it was truly worth the work! Once everything was installed and powered up I turned on the monitor and BAM! once again the images just lit up. The daytime images are clear and crisp, the night images (although black and white) are also very clear as well. A little adjusting on the camera angles and my setup was perfect! Now it was time to download the software to my desktop. Windows 10, no problem. Mac desktop. still can't get the software to download, Stupid Apple thing I guess. Proprietorial POS won't accept dmg files without dropbox or something like that. I do have a call into tech and will let my wife handle that. It's her crApple. The apps on our phones were a snap and simple to use. My android and her iphone came right up no problemo! Still learning the ins and outs of setting up and using the many fine intricacies of the software. I decided to leave it hooked to its own monitor. Just simpler to manage the system from there rather than from downloaded software. I was lucky, I had a monitor to start with. You will need one too. Even if you use your big screen HDMI input. Or, Walmart has a great 22" HDMI 1080P monitor for under $100. You won't be able to use your laptop to set up the system either. It's not a monitor. Now, to make a long story even longer, (but this is the sweet part and hence the Headline) System installed complete on sunday. The following tuesday early morning, there was a thief prowling the neighborhood and he was caught on our new system! Our next door neighbor is an LVMPD lieutenant and the punk was caught on our system getting into his car, then moving on to my house and checking the locked doors on my truck using a flashlight to look inside, then moved on across the street where he successfully got into my neighbors truck. Must have seen something he liked cause he jimmied the locked door and spent several minutes in there. then went on to two other neighbors homes checking gates and vehicles before moving out of sight. LVMPD came to our home at 7:30am this morning (yes, I'm writing this review just 12 hrs later) and asked if they could review our video from early this morning. Of course we let them in. The detective was able to pull up a fairly clear image of this punks face, downloaded 30 seconds of the video we had and took it with him. On his way out, he sincerely expressed his gratitude for people like us who take an interest in the security of our homes and neighborhoods. It made his job much more successful. He said with his equipment he would be able to clearly enhance the image and catch this Punk SOB. He would let us know when they do.Bottom Line: Money well spent on a great security camera system. Thank You Firstrend!Now if we could only get it to work on the Mac 🙂 hmmmm

Title: THIS is the video security system to buy!
Review: I am pretty OCD when it comes to researching products before I buy. There are many other similar systems on Amazon so it took me a many hours of reading to finally decide to buy this Firstrend system:1080P Wireless Security Camera System, Firstrend 8CH Wireless NVR System with 8pcs 1080P HD Security Camera and 3TB Hard Drive Pre-Installed,P2P Wireless Security System for Indoor and Outdoor UseI have been so happy with the system that I ended up buying three systems for three different locations: 1. Our farm in Washington's Olympic Peninsula, four cameras inside & four cameras outside (very wet, windy, temperate climate). 2. A commercial facility monitoring the cash register and retail counters, six cameras inside & two cameras outside. 3. Our home near the Montana Rockies , four cameras inside & four cameras outside (bitter cold, ferocious winds, tons of snow).All three systems performed flawlessly with the minor exception that one camera failed (i.e. 1 of 24 cameras) after about a year of use. I think a 4% failure rate is very good, especially given the harsh environment.I emailed Firstrend and they were responsive and helpful, sending me a replacement camera right away at no charge. So I am very happy with their customer service.PRO: EASY SET-UP. For a guy that reads a lot researching product, I don't like reading instruction / installation manuals. Probably the best thing about this system is that it almost sets itself up. I was too lazy to read how to assign cameras to specific view panes on the monitor screen, so I just lined up 8 cameras on a kitchen counter and they all automatically paired to the DVR unit via its own built-in wifi network, I attached a monitor via HDMI to the DVR, and all 8 cameras came up live on the screen in the first 8 panes (3x3 display, the 9th pane shows status). Then I put my hand in front of one camera at a time while looking at the monitor and if my have appeared in pane 6, I wrote "6" on the camera. Once all 8 cameras were numbered I simply mounted cameras in the locations / sequence I wanted to appear on the monitor. (You can change all these assigned locations later on the control head --you don't have to remount cameras.)PRO: GOOD QUALITY, WELL DESIGNED. Super well-made and sturdy. Well thought-out hardware and the software features and functions. Very plug-and-play, and lots of useful built-in user-definable features (most of which I didn't need because my application is simple real-time monitoring with occasional replay).PRO: GREAT VALUE, LOW PRICE, MAXIMUM BANG FOR THE BUCKSPRO: VERY GOOD RELIABILITYPRO: GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTCONS: FOR THE PRICE, CAN'T THINK OF ANY CONS

Review: To anybody looking to get a great picture quality and reliable camera system then this the right system.Crystal clear picture/video, quality and affordable. Excellent in all weather conditions, stable and quite easy to install. Plug and play. I had an issue with hard drive after a couple of years and the technical support is absolutely amazing. Very professional. The problem got resolved.I am blown away by their great service. Anybody looking for a good camera system you can't go wrong with Firstrend. I am a happy customer!

Review: Love Love Love our security system and it was pretty easy to set up, has night vision which is great for the backyard at night. They also have excellent customer service too, they are very prompt at getting back to you with helpful and understandable responses. It's all through email/Messages which works great when you work nights. I want to send out a Thank you to Yvette for assisting me. Looking forward to continuing to use this product that will add a few more cameras down the road. :)I did get help from Amazon to found out where and how to ask for assistance. So I want to make it simple too for others, Here is where you find the path to get the email/messaging started. You go to "Sold by WiseArrive and Fulfilled by Amazon.." section on the right hand side of the product, click on "WiseArrive" the company who's selling the wonderful product (which is below the buy now button). Review: We have a system exactly the same we purchased two years ago. We really liked it. Easy to set up and use. Clear camera picture. Easy to access when we are not on property using the app on phone. Seems tough even ran very well through Canadian winters. We use them for outside. We just purchased another system so we will run two different systems in the yard. We have experienced good quality and good value. Reliable systems. We use to have nest and Motorola which was an overpriced disaster. We recommend firstrend over and above any other security systems. Very happy in Canada

Review: I purchased this product in June 2022, and I just completed the installation today. The actual physical installation was very easy, took 30minutes or so. It was nice to have the ability to use a wired/wireless option to connect the cameras. It is as advertised as plug and play for the most part. When the device turned on it connected to the cameras quite quickly. There was some issues with the interface that I had to contact customer service for. Jespen at firstrend was absolutely fantastic. Jespen was able to efficiently diagnose the issue and came up with fixes that were straightforward to implement. The text interactions made it easy to communicate and allowed us to show pictures and videos of the problem and fixes. This is one of the better experiences when dealing with customer support call centres. This really does show the company’s commitment to their product and their willingness to stand behind its product. Thanks for all your support and positivity, Jespen!

Review: I have two of these Firstrend Wireless Security Camera systems. The pictures are clear both in the daytime and with the IR at night. Connecting the cameras to the NVR is straightforward. I noticed some folks say they don't have audio but my cameras all transmit audio if turned on. It seems only 1 camera at a time can send audio.The systems have been running reliably 24/7 since startup.One camera did fail recently and was replaced under warranty without any issues.One nice feature of the system is its ability to relay a weak signal from one camera through another camera with a stronger signal.A better solution would be to use WI-FI 6 which penetrates obstacles easier. I have installed a 2TB harddrive in each NVR. System reboots itself after power outages. Decent system for the price. Would recommend.
