“In Five Years is as clever as it is moving, the rare read-in-one-sitting novel you won’t forget.” —Chloe Benjamin, New York Times bestselling author of The Immortalists

Perfect for fans of Me Before You and One Day—a striking, powerful, and moving love story following an ambitious lawyer who experiences an astonishing vision that could change her life forever.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Dannie Kohan lives her life by the numbers.

She is nothing like her lifelong best friend—the wild, whimsical, believes-in-fate Bella. Her meticulous planning seems to have paid off after she nails the most important job interview of her career and accepts her boyfriend’s marriage proposal in one fell swoop, falling asleep completely content.

But when she awakens, she’s suddenly in a different apartment, with a different ring on her finger, and beside a very different man. Dannie spends one hour exactly five years in the future before she wakes again in her own home on the brink of midnight—but it is one hour she cannot shake. In Five Years is an unforgettable love story, but it is not the one you’re expecting.

Title: Highly Recommend
Review: I absolutely adored this book and couldn’t put it down! Finished it within a week and it was genuinely all I could think about until I reached the very last page. What I loved most about this book was how well written and heartfelt the story was, how easy it was to follow, and how likable each of the characters were (in their own way). While the plot was predictable at times, I had a blast reading it and enjoyed every moment. If you’re looking for something fast paced and addictive, I’d highly, highly recommend this book! IN FIVE YEARS is also the first Rebecca Serle book I read, and she’s truly a phenomenal writer! I’ll definitely be checking out more of her work in the near future.

Title: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Thought-Provoking and Heartfelt Story About Love, Friendship, and Fate
Review: Rebecca Serle’s “In Five Years” is a captivating blend of romance, self-discovery, and the unpredictability of life. The novel explores the question of fate versus free will, taking the reader on an emotional journey that keeps you invested in the characters’ lives from start to finish. The protagonist, Dannie, is a highly driven and logical person, but after a mysterious and vivid dream that shows her life five years into the future, everything she thought she knew about her path begins to shift. Serle masterfully plays with this concept of destiny, balancing the tension between what we plan and what actually unfolds in life. What sets this novel apart is its focus on deep, meaningful friendships in addition to romantic relationships. The bond between Dannie and her best friend Bella adds emotional weight to the story, making it about more than just finding love—it’s about connection, loyalty, and navigating life’s unexpected turns.Serle’s writing is crisp and engaging, and she weaves the present and future seamlessly, keeping the plot moving at a brisk pace. The ending is poignant and surprising, leaving the reader reflecting on the nature of time, love, and the paths we take. For those who enjoy contemporary fiction with emotional depth and a touch of magical realism, “In Five Years” is a must-read. It’s a story that stays with you, offering both moments of joy and reflection.

Title: speechless.
Review: The book HAD potential. It started interesting and intriguing!!! So I tuned in trying to see what was going to happen. There were so many twists and turns. BUT THE ENDING… why 😭. Like fine its not romance you’re focusing on. Then it is a friendship… then it should’ve been respected.SPOILER ALERT ( alternative ending that would’ve been better in my opinion)Dannie realizes that despite what she saw in the dream we was going to go against all of her visions. Because her love towards her best friend is greater than getting with her love. So she doesn’t do anything with Aaron. Then continues on with her life and runs into him five years later where they reconnect and begin their love story. LIKE THATS WHAT I IMAGINED. Bella deserved a better ending.

Title: So refreshing!
Review: This book was so different. So unique. And a complete breath of fresh air. It’s an easy, short, quick read that illicit so many emotions. In just 250 pages you get to witness the growth and evolution of Dannie and I didn’t realize it would make me feel as much as it did.I spent pretty much all of this book thinking I knew what was going on and what was going to happen, and I was completely wrong. But I’m not disappointed. There are so many good lessons in this book that make you take stock of your own life and I loved it!

Title: Unconditional Love
Review: Rebecca Serle's writing is sweet and engaging, easy to read in a few sittings.Dannie, the protagonist, and her fiance are young, successful and perfectly compatible. They have their dream jobs and a home in NYC by the time they are 30 - It is a nice change of pace from reading about serial killers from dysfunctional families. The night they are engaged, Dannie falls asleep for an hour and dreams that she wakes up in a different apartment, with a different man, 5 years into the future...The plot is a little contrived, but if you picked this book to read, you expect to suspend your disbelief.I found it refreshing that the twist towards the end was not what I had imagined, it made the book much more valuable to me.Two thirds of the way in, I am crying - it is so touching to see the way Dannie loves her friend, Bella.I like the point this author makes in her books that a strong, lasting, unconditional love can be for friends, as well as for a spouse or family and her characters do not exist just for a man to sweep them off their feet and save the day.The only part I didn't get was the significance of the "Eye Chart" art Bella bought for Dannie.

Title: Premonitions...
Review: This is a very well written story of love, loss, grief and the future. It isn't what I expected from the description. I was hoping it would be a little more but there is a twist. It makes you think and because of that I think I liked it. I would read more from the author.

Review: Absolutely in love with this story and the characters. I was hooked from beginning to end, so much so that I had to put actual effort into going to sleep, unable to put the book down. The story comes full circle and the ending was perfect, in my opinion. I'm honestly so happy I found this book. Can't wait to read the sequel! Also, no problems regarding the delivery of the actual book for me, it came in perfect condition and arrived earlier than expected. 🙂
