Title: What an emotional story!
Review: This story is a continuation so if you have not read After (book 1) do not read this review or this book (start at the beginning and you will LOVE the craziness of these characters and their relationship)Tessa and Hardin are two characters that are completely different in every way with the exception of their love for Literature, alcoholic fathers, and stubbornness. A relationship that is doomed to fail because of the way it all started. . . the bet to take her virginity!Tessa is the most forgiving character that I have ever read but she is also a naive teenager and is having her first real sexual relationship with Hardin. It’s easy to be in love with the simple things but the minute you add sex, alcohol, friends and family to the equation and real feelings which then gives your heart a vested interest in everyone. Every woman wants to fall in love with her Prince Charming but a damaged bad boy who needs to be saved is a relationship that no one is ready for.Hardin is a beautiful and intelligent man with a very bad reputation. He drinks, lies, and uses anyone he needs to feel better about himself. The little boy that had his family ripped apart due to an alcoholic father and images of a trauma that no little boy should have to endure. Does this give him the right to use the one person that may be able to change him into a living man? Hardin has a bad habit of telling lies and the lies he tells is starting to catch up to him. The fate of his relationship and the trust that Tessa has given to him is hanging in by a thread and he is determined to “ruin” her but it’s unintentional. He doesn’t know how to be a good person and every attempt to change that backfires on him.A relationship with the lack of communication challenges them until one or both of them are torn apart. When will they decide that they have had enough and move on without further destruction.It has been a very long time since I have been so captivated by a story. I’m a grown woman, happily married but feel like I am in the middle of this relationship, I feel the emotions of the characters and the hurt that comes with their angry words and stupid decisions. It hurts to see that they are spiraling out of control and you want to slap, save, and hug them. As a reader you are vested in these characters and not every story can bring you this close to their characters! Hang on because book 3 is next ❤️

Review: My Thoughts:After We Collided is the second installment in the After Series by Anna Todd. The story begins right where book one ended. A startling and painful betrayal was revealed, and Tessa is devastated! Hardin is determined to prove to Tessa that he really loves her, he's sorry, and has changed. However, as more of his horrific past comes to light, Tessa doesn't know how she can ever trust Hardin again. Hardin enlists the help of Landon, his stepbrother, and Tessa's best friend, in order to win her back. However, it seems like every time Tessa and Hardin seem to be getting along and doing well, one of them end up jeopardizing their relationship. Can Tessa and Hardin overcome their insecurities, jealousy, and immaturity, in order to make their relationship work? Or are they doomed to continue the dysfunctional cycle of breaking up and getting back together over and over again. After We Collided was filled with just as much drama as book one. The plot was extremely addictive, and I finished reading it in record time. The back and forth between Tessa got a little monotonous after a while, and I kept thinking, "what more could possibly happen?" Well, a lot could and did happen. All of Tessa and Hardin's problems stemmed from jealousy, and insecurity. Not to mention that Hardin has a horrible temper that he can't seem to control. Tessa made a few mistakes due to her own misunderstandings in this segment as well.I am really looking forward to the next installment in the series. I want to find out what becomes of Tessa and Hardin. Not to mention, that I love the secondary characters in this series, especially Hardin's family and Landon. The ending of this sequel was dramatic, and a to be continued that has my curiosity sparked! On a side note, I love how Ms. Todd refers to classic literature in this series. She has referenced many of my favorites, especially Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights. Tessa and Hardin have so much passion between them! Sometimes it's used in positive ways and other times it's used in destructive ways. My hope is that they both significantly grow as characters, because it is obvious that they love one another, and I would like to see them end up together.My Rating:I give, After We Collided by Anna Todd, 4 Unpredictable, Frenzied, Passionate, Destructive, and Addicting Stars!!! This is a series that you will either love of hate, but one thing is for certain, this series is a real page-turner!

Review: I have given After We Collided by Anna Todd five out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Hardin and Tessa continue their journey of great highs and terrible lows and I have never felt more invested in a fictional relationship since Twilight! My emotions have been pulled, twisted and trampled on. I’ve been left with an open wound thanks to Anna Todd’s cliffhangers at the end of each book. Once again, Todd has left me wanting so much more from this toxic relationship!Once again, Anna Todd has left me wanting so much more from this toxic relationship! I found it so difficult to put this book down and now I have no choice but to wait until I can continue to carry on reading this steamy, toxic relationship because I only ordered the rest of the book series at the end of last week, they should be arriving at the end of the week (I hope!). I need to know what happens ASAP!After We Collided picks straight back up from the moment we’re finished with After, no gaps of events, no chunks missing of information just simply delving straight back into the whirlwind of Hardin and Tessa’s relationship. Only this time, we get chapters from both Hardin and Tessa’s POV, in the first book we only get to understand the relationship from one side, Tessa’s. I think it was very clever of Anna Todd to split the chapters between Hardin and Tessa as it was so important to read events which happen from Hardin’s point of view as well. You get to see him in a whole different light and Tessa too. Multiple narratives makes everything more fairly-rounded and helps the reader to not judge the opposing character as much, as you’re able to read all about their thoughts.There’s no doubt about it, I definitely prefer the books to the movies. Especially due to the amount of extra detail we get to absorb about the secondary characters, story line and twists. It makes me even more excited to pick up the rest of the series. Although it feels like the movies are keeping to the majority of the story line in the books, there are so many events that happen in the books which the movies completely avoided which I was quite surprised by as there are other love interests which I think should have had airtime and become a part of the on screen experience.There is so much negativity surrounding this series and although I can understand why a lot of people are upset with how they believe this series is glamourising toxicity and abusive relationships, I’d like to think that it’s showing the change in which people can do. Trying to be better, trying to change for the better for not only their partners but for themselves as well. I’m hoping the third book will really outshine the abuse and toxicity (fingers crossed!) as Hardin and Tessa are so so so good when they’re good and it makes my heart do a little flutter when you get to see the glimpse of “shy” Hardin and his soft side. I really hope if you pick up this page-turning series, you feel the same way and that you get to enjoy their relationship (for what it is).If you really want to feel immersed in the world of Hardin and Tessa I would recommend (if you have Spotify) to search ‘Hardin Scott Playlist’, to all of the people who have created on of these playlists, thank you. The lyrics really spoke to me about their relationship and it made everything even more emotional, which I didn’t think was possible.I would recommend this series of books to anyone who enjoys reading new adult books with complicated love interests, steamy and intimate scenes in a college/university setting.
