In this Christmas mystery, lawyer Andy Carpenter and his golden retriever, Tara, are on the beat after a body turns up in the snow and a journalist is the prime suspect.
Christmas has come early to the town of Paterson, New Jersey, in the form of a snowstorm that dumps two feet of snow on the ground. Lawyer Andy Carpenter likes snow – white Christmas and all that – but it can cause problems for the walks he takes his dogs on every day.
When Andy’s golden retriever, Tara, goes to play in the snow and instead discovers a body, Andy ends up on the phone with the local newspaper editor. The murder victim is Mayor Alex Oliva, who had an infamous relationship with the newspaper. Last year a young reporter published an expose, and Oliva had him fired for libel. Now, the young reporter – and prime suspect – is in need of a lawyer.
Andy agrees to take the case, though it’s not looking good this holiday season. The evidence is piling up faster than the snow in Best in Snow, the next Christmas mystery in the bestselling Andy Carpenter series from David Rosenfelt.

Title: Another Winner
Review: I enjoy the characters, situations, and the HUMOR! I recently introduced a friend to the series. She read one and she has been gathering them all since then! Two other friends love them too.

Title: Andy argues against irrefutable facts
Review: Andy Carpenter is walking his dogs when one of them finds a body in the snow. Not just any body â but the mayor! Soon one of Andyâs friends is begging Andy to defend the young man whoâs been arrested for the murder. The evidence again Bobby Nash is overwhelming. The Andy Carpenter novels follow a pattern, but itâs a successful pattern so why not? Things always look black against the defendant. And yet Andy and his quirky investigators always manage to find new evidence. This involves illegal hacking, record checking, wearing wires, tailing suspicious people, etc. Sometimes it involves a little talk with a crime boss, as in this book.Thereâs always lots of lame humor, and dogs inevitably play a part. The high points for me are Andyâs bruising cross-examinations in court â and the scenes where Marcus (a lethal human weapon who likes classical music) saves Andy from abduction, murder or whatever. Marcus can be a bodyguard or an investigator as required.Do I want David Rosenfelt to change the formula? Not really. This series is always fun.

Title: Complicated and Wonderful Mystery
Review: I love Andy Carpenter's wit and meeting up with his long-suffering wife, Laurie (who'd hit me if she heard such a description!), Vince and Pete, friends from the sports bar, Marcus, the ultimate tough guy, and the super dogs, Tara, Sebastian and Hunter. Great cast of regulars and then the author throws in the twisty mystery of a well-set up murder and courtroom drama. I'll leave the plot retelling to others. Suffice to say this is one of Mr. Rosenfelt's best books. Thanks and look forward to more of Mr. Carpenter and Co.!

Title: As always, a hit!
Review: I am always thrilled when a new Andy Carpenter book hits my kindle (all preordered), because I am never disappointed in this series. Humorous and laugh out loud funny. The details of what a lawyer/ courts / prep are like continue to amaze me, and I never ever see 'the bad guy' coming. This time I was positive towards the end of the real culprit....and damned if I wasn't wrong again. The writing keeps you turning the pages, and in this round there are a couple of surprises you just don't see coming. Now I look forward to Pete being angry and derogatory(but with love)to another friend...and blame it on Andy. I swear, if I were ever arrested for a felony, I'd hire Andy (and, he'd do it pro bono, I know).

Title: Another Fine Outing
Review: I do love Andy Carpenter... and it seems only right that his popularity has lasted for 24 books in the series. The plotting is flawless and the characters are familiar and fun to read. Andy and his self- depreciating humor is hard to beat anywhere. I have also very much loved the new spin off, a private investigation group, The K Team. It stars former cop Corey Douglas, his partner Simon Garfunkel (the K-9), and Andy's wife, also former cop Laurie Carpenter. Since Andy shows up by default, those books are the best of both worlds. All told, this time I could not figure out how Andy was going to save the day and was pleasantly surprised at the end. It was terrific, my definition of a feel good read!
