Title: Dream Machine with Exceptional Options for the Price
Review: Best home machine for the intermediate/expert level seamstress. The Brother XR9550 computerized machine is a dream to operate and easy to learn BUT it has too many features for a beginner. (A novice would do better with a simpler machine until they master straight and zigzag sewing on a variety of fabrics.) This machine is a perfect gift. The top 10 best features are: the machine is light weight-older people can easily move this machine making it very convenient. The built-in stitch options are displayed on the machine and the LED selection box is easy to read, well placed. The automatic needle controls (needle down/ backstitch) are comfortably placed if you're right- handed. Love the automatic needle threader! The trick is to keep the thread taunt across the U bracket. (I never figured out how my previous computerized machine auto threaded.) A big plus of the Brother computerized sewing machine is the ease to select and change stitches. The amount and variety of the built-in stitches is perfect! The embroidery option is fantastic! It takes time to set up the lettering but worth it because it sews a crisp print. I donate items to various personalized items to clinics so this feature is important to me. The only con is that the pressure foot tension cannot be easily adjusted for thicker materials. This is the best, most versatile sewing machine for experienced seamstresses.

Title: My First Computerized Sewing Machine
Review: I bought the XR9550 to supplement my 32-year-old mechanical Brother VX808 (still works). Learning to use the many stitches and letters on the XR9550 has been a fun learning experience.Pros:Lightweight but sturdy machine body. Drop-in clear bobbin case. Many quick-change presser feet. One-step buttonhole foot. Start/Stop button, Sewing Speed button, and Needle Up/Down button on machine front. Lower/Raise Feed Dogs switch on machine back. Very detailed instruction manual and DVD.Cons:The only con is the hard case. It is not a carrying case--it is a hard plastic dust cover. There is no bottom for the hard case. Do not remove the Styrofoam inside top of case--it will not seat level on top of machine if you do.Since the case has no effect on machine quality and features, I rate the XR9550 5 stars. It is a budget-priced computerized machine that is easy to use.

Title: Love this sewing machine!
Review: I bought this to replace my over 20 year old Brother sewing machine. I chose Brother again for it's reliability and because my last one lasted so long. This new one is so quiet and easy to use. The many choices of stitches are awesome and the one touch button hole feature works so accurately. It was very easy to learn how to use and there are many videos on the internet with step by step instructions and helpful hints.

It’s a feature I've steered clear of, sticking to what I know best.Surprisingly, for a machine marketed towards sewing and quilting enthusiasts, it lacks essential accessories like quilting feet, a stitch in the ditch foot, and a walking foot.The horizontal thread placement has been problematic. My thread has caught on spools and broken mid-project, an issue I attribute to this design choice. It seems like a ploy to purchase additional accessories to prevent thread mishaps.The build quality leaves something to be desired. Review: Been using this for over a year with great success. Use it often and love it- definitely should buy another machine for the heavier fabrics or the 3-4 layers of fabric I sometimes sew. But for 2 ply and regular seeing it’s great!!! Smooth quick adjustable wherever you need it. And super easy to use- do not need to be a seasoned seamstress.

Review: I have a similar machine with more functions as an experienced seamstress. I chose this for my daughter. I was very happy with how it handled and the similarity to my own machine made using this a breeze. There are many, many stitch choices. Trust me, I tested many too for functionality and reliability. Each one proved to deliver as expected. The guide was easy to follow and detailed. There is also video instructions, not reviewed. I gave this machine 5 stars because I feel for the price and functionality, you get your money's worth and more. Sewing can be aggravating with a nasty machine. Smooth sailing and satisfaction found with this unit.

Review: Hasta el momento funciona perfectamente la máquina. Se compró para un taller de costura, dado que se necesitaban hacer ojales, y esta máquina fue la alternativa para eso. Había dudas porque pensábamos que no iba a aguantar la carga de trabajo y se iba a quemar su motor, pero hasta el momento ha trabajado muy bien y no se han tenido contratiempos con ella. Quizá el detalle a resaltar es el instructivo, porque es algo complicado de entender; pero hasta el momento estamos bastante satisfechos con la máquina.
