OFF THE SLOPES:

Bōl is a modern bowl-ing alley. As you knock down pins, you can snack on upscale dishes like lamb lolli-pops with chimichurri sauce and ahi tuna poke, while enjoying a creative cocktail, such as Mad Beets: gin, fresh beets, lemon, rhubarb, sugar, and champagne.

WHERE TO STAY:

In 1919, the Faessler family started a hotel in Ofter-schwang, Germany, that still exists. Sixty years later, the same family brought their upscale German bed-and-breakfast model to the U.S., starting the Sonnenalp in Vail. Since then, the hotel has become an institution, and is one of the oldest family-run businesses in the region. It has a spa with all the bells and whistles, but the highlight might be its breakfast: a smorgasbord of fresh fruit, eggs, and pastries.

Title: Awesome book!
Review: Being a downhill skier for over twenty years, I’ve been looking for a good read in the living room. Especially when the weather isn’t its finest. So this hard covered book got my attention and had to get it. In today’s world, it just as easy to download an e-book. Sometimes some people prefer to actually hold a book and feel the weight of it. And not draining the life of your own tablet(s). If people don’t know and remember, there still lives a world where those who read can actually borrow books (hard covered and soft covered).I happen to like this book for many reasons. It’s a good read every now and then to get one’s mind off of your own tablet, or e-reader, kindle etc.

Title: Exceptional Imagery & Rich, Delightful Descriptions
Review: I have never written a review. I was moved to do so for the 1st time upon receipt of this beautiful book! Im a lifelong skier who resides in FL. As I’m approaching becoming an empty nester, I’m creating my “Bucket List” and thought that this book would assist me with my plans. The beautiful pictures and evocative descriptions will transport you to “peek” at each mountain peak and the ski experiences that you’ll find there. I can attest to the accurate descriptions of multiple destinations and share that Gorda captures the vibe as well as the vertical height! Detailed descriptions about terrain and the ambiance are at your fingertips. It’s a great coffee table book for me as well. Lastly, I’m considering a move to a ski region and this book opens up possibilities that I never knew about. If you want to be transported to the world’s most extraordinary ski destinations, this book and maybe a cup of hot cocoa are the makings for many delightful “trips”!

Review: Loved the book from cover to cover. Hated the fact that my daughter and son in law are going to Finland in January to Ski/Board when I can't even jog across a busy road any longer lol.
