Title: Ecobee3 Lite Smart Thermostat
Review: Because a local HVAC company installed my heatpump last week, a tech came out to install this thermostat free of charge minus my involvement in completing the installation wirh providing my Internet designation and password. The installation process was seamless and smooth. I can monitor the heatpump functions from anywhete now. I can also see the current temp away from the wall as the digiral temp display is large and stays lit. This thermostat is smart as it calibrated the temp setting we set and AI does the rest by communicating with me. I bought the back plate separately from Amazon (black) and it is very pleasing to look. Its too early to talk about the longevity of the system but it is functioning beautifully at this time. It is fully capable of accommodating one's individual scheduling but I programm it to have it at constant 72 degrees. This us todays kind of thermostat!

Title: This is the 4th one we've purchased and added - that says it all
Review: Do you like simple? This is it. We installed two of them for heat only and had a professional install the other two because they had AC on them as well. Too many wires for me 🙂 The app works great on my iphone and this sets up with Apple Home just fine. Scan the code and away you go. You can rename each one so it clear and the setting on each one can be different. Easy to read display day or night. If you value a good looking easy to use thermostat, put this on the top of your list. You can also log into the website for more stats and those are really valuable as well.

Title: Worth every penny!
Review: Coming from the Nest, this was a breeze to install. I like that it comes with label stickers. Its clearly well thought out when it comes to installing. Setup and configuring on the network was also quick. Overall it took 20 minutes between removing the old one and installing Ecobee.I think the only thing to mention is that make sure you strip the wire back enough and insert it in fully. Mine were not making contact as much as I thought I did so had to re strip the wires.Other than that. Functionality wise its better. Home assistant integration is smooth. This works very well for those with multi split zones.Other than that. Its controls and UI are much more refined in my opinion. Pairing this with Home assistant. Its the perfect match. Plus if your using zones in your house. A

Title: Trouble with install
Review: In reality it only took 5 min to wire after understanding why my set up was different.Pros:Excellent product, easily affordable. Smart purchase. I did many reviews of many products and kept coming back to ecobee. They provide all you need for an install. If you are on the fence - go for it. My final push was I went on vacation for the first time in many many years. I realized it would be nice to control house temp while I was away. Now I can. Hooray technology.Take images of thermostat connections and furnace control board connections before you remove anything. You should call ecobee support for help but this may help you also.Super small Con: Con is only due to my particular wiring - not the device.I did not have a "C" wire at the thermostat, only White, red, green and yellow so this install is with using the PEK device supplied with thermostat purchase, my colored wiring set up and my pre existing connections. If you have questions - Call ecobee support - they sent me images and instructions(3 of the included images) for my set up.Per the wiring image. I had a separate red and white harness in my furnace going to my AC compressor and had to tie it into the PEK device supplied with thermostat which is used with 4 wire cable with no C wire at the thermostat end. If you have 5 (or more) wires you may have a C: wire or other wires for 2 stage heat or AC. I had a single stage everything. Your wire colors may be different it is more important to know what color wire goes to what connection. You should use the supplied stickers to label the wires. For example my yellow wire could be orange or blue in your set up. Put a Y label on it This based more on where you disconnected the cable from more then color though. If you dis connect a orange wire from Y or Y1 - label it Y or Y/Y1Original Thermostat connections and wiresI had a Red wire going to Rh with a Jumper to Rc (which can be ignored)Green to GYellow to YWhite to WFurnace end controller boardRed to RGreen to GYellow wire tied to red of seperate 2 wire cable to my AC compressor (Not to Y on furnace controller board) 2nd white wire of AC comporsser tied to wire nut then a white wire (shown as blue in wiring diagram) to C connection on controller boardWhite to WConnections for ecobee thermostat with No C wireThermostat endRed to RcGreen to CYellow to PEKWhite to W1PEK is magnetic and sticks to wall inside furnace in between wiring from thermostat and furnace control boardWiring from thermostat (4 wires) to PEK device suppliedRed to PEK "R"Green to PEK "G"Yellow to PEK "Y"White to PEK "W"PEK to furnace and AC compressor and furnace control board (5 wires on the other end of PEK device) If you happen to have 2 wires to any one terminal - Only disconnect the wire that went to thermostat. Leave the other wire connected as this may go to another device you have such as a humidifier. Leave any other wires on the furnace control board connected. Again - only remove the wires that went direct to furnace.Red (R) to furnace control board "R"Green (G) to furnace control board "G"Yellow (Y) to AC compressor red (with wire nut).White (W) - label looks Grey) to furnace control board "W"Blue (C) to AC compressor wire nut tying AC compressor white wire - PEK blue (C) wire and my short white colored wire (shown as Blue wire in wiring image) to furnace control board "C"Note:My original wiring connections on the furnace control board had no wire to "Y' since my original yellow wire connected to wire nut with Red AC compressor. With ecobee I had to plug the yellow wire to PEK "Y" and the opposite end of PEK device went back to wire nut with Red AC compressor wire. The wiring image shows white AC compressor white tied with wire nut to PEK Blue wire AND a white wire(Shown in blue on Right wire image) to "C' on furnace control board. - don't let color confuse you it could be any color, where it comes from and where it plugs into is more important.

Review: I have standard gas ducted heating that had a very old slide thermostat with basic temp readout. I was lucky that my heater board had a ‘C’ terminal for 24v power, however the unit includes an optional power circuit if yours doesn’t.I originally wanted this just to be able to control the heater through wifi coming home or leaving. This unit also includes scheduling which is a huge bonus for me. The thermostat learns how long it takes to heat the area and starts accordingly based on its current temperature when in schedule mode. I will add some of the room sensors down the track to assist with a cool area of the home. Be aware the lite model doesn’t include a motion sensor as part of the thermostat, so is unaware if you are occupying that particular area or not without the add on sensors. The standard model (most expensive) does include this. This is a great add on product that has assisted heating my home much easier than before.Highly recommended

Review: Bought 2, both arrived in good condition although strangely in different manufacturing origin boxes, although in operation identical.Connected to HomeKit and both work flawlessly. They are connected to a mesh network and each to different access points. Have not had a single drop in 5 months of use.Only 1 speed of operation. But this was known from the specs. Connected to AC only, roof HVAC system.Works well, and plenty of customisation options through the web portal. HomeKit app is basic but functional.Recommended.
