Title: Integrates Nicely w/Ring Alarm System
Review: Very cool, and easily integrates with our Ring alarm system. Now a fire or dangerous CO levels will trigger an alarm, and because we pay for Ring system monitoring, an automatic call to emergency services if appropriate.

Title: Perfect Product, Couldn't Ask For More. Ring Integration is Excellent
Review: I installed this 4 years ago and I love everything about. Install was smooth and easy. It integrates to Alexa/Ring perfectly. I accidentally blew my vape very close to it and it immediately went off. Alarm is extremely loud - loud enough to hear throughout the house. Even so, every Alexa in the house started yelling at me, in case there is a room far enough away that you couldn't hear it. Additionally, I immediately got a phone call from Ring, asking if they should send emergency services.I don't know that I should even voice my annoyance with an event. All Echo devices go to a 10 volume and the alarm itself is LOUD, so in an accidental activation, I found myself frantically screaming 'ALEXA STOP!!!' but could not be heard over the alarm. I struggled for a few seconds to stop the alarm using the button on the actual device. In the meantime, I answer my ringing phone to tell them not to send 911 but they couldn't hear me until I managed to stop the chaos. To end it all, after I told them "There is no fire", they called my secondary contact to confirm. That would be a nice feature if the alarm on the keypad were pressed by a DV victim, but for my smoke alarm going off, it seemed a bit unnecessary.Still, 10/10!!!

Title: No interconnection to relay an alarm with other detectors is disappointing.
Review: I've been using this model (ZCOMBO) since 2013. Not it's time to replace those old detectors because they are at their end of life. The detector circuitry is only good for so long, just the nature of the beast. No issue there. But over the past 9 years I have had issues with reporting of battery level with SmartThings. I don't know if it's the detector or the SmartThings Hub's fault but battery status is not reliable. There is no warning when the battery level is low other than the audible from the detector itself. That's all you need I guess but a notification in the app would be nice too, especially for those detectors that may not be located where you are.I bought 6 new detectors and five of them linked up with SmartThings easy enough (much easier than my original ones from 9 years ago did). The sixth would only partially connect and SmartThings warned me about that. After 6 tries I got it to sync fully. Another one of the six units I purchased was faulty right out of the box. As soon as I put the batteries in a couple seconds later it started alarming. I didn't even get to link it to SmartThings so the problem wasn't caused by the SmartThings hub. I removed the batteries and tried again but again in 30 seconds it began alarming and wouldn't quit even after pressing the silence button. So that one got returned and I will buy another to replace it.The biggest thing missing from this version is that they do not relay an alarm. If one goes off the others DO NOT also sound off. I know First Alert has another version that looks very similar to the ZCOMBO and does relay an alarm from other units but that version does not work with SmartThings or Ring.Another feature missing is they do not work with Alexa. The detectors use Z-Wave and Alexa does not (directly) since it is connected using Wi-Fi. But a HA hub like SmartThings can bridge that gap. If this were possible then Alexa could be used to make announcements when a detector alarms due to smoke or CO level. But Alexa does not even know the detectors exist. That's not First Alert's fault but you would think they would work with Alexa to make it happen.

Title: Smart Protection & Peace of Mind for My Home
Review: The **First Alert Battery Powered Z-Wave Smoke Detector & Carbon Monoxide Alarm** has been an excellent addition to my smart home setup. It integrates seamlessly with my Z-Wave system, allowing me to receive real-time alerts on my phone whenever smoke or CO levels are detected. The installation was super easy â no wiring, just pop in the batteries and mount it on the ceiling. One of my favorite features is the dual protection for both smoke and carbon monoxide, which gives me peace of mind knowing my family is protected. The battery-powered design makes it versatile to install anywhere without worrying about electrical connections. The battery life has also been impressive so far! This alarm has already integrated smoothly with my smart home hub and has been reliable without any false alarms. I love how I can check the status remotely and even get notifications when the battery is running low. For anyone looking for a reliable, smart-enabled smoke and CO detector, this is an excellent choice!

Title: Work Great with Ring
Review: I have some older 1 generation models and I can say one big improvement with these second generation models is the super fast pairing time. It was way easier to pair these! Also really nice to be using these vs. the smoke alarm listener with ring. If you have a ring alarm these are 100% what you should use.

Review: Arrived in one day! This unit works great with VeraPlus running the latest firmware as of this time, and is very easy to add to controller. It shows up as two devices - the parent device is a "Smoke & CO Sensor", and a child device also shows up as "CO Sensor". You can create scenes for alerts based on these devices separately, so that you distinguish between CO and Smoke alerts. This unit takes two AA batteries, not a 9V battery which is usually what is expected with smoke alarms. Not that it is very significant, but just more of an FYI. Just a suggestion - don't use Parameter #1 to enable double alerts because if you do, it will make the child CO Sensor device disappear once the controller writes that parameter to the device. Then you can't create scenes for smoke and CO separately.

Review: This smoke detector was easy to install! I easily integrated it with my Ring alarm system. It was even put to the test when we burnt some food and the smoke alarm went off, triggered the Ring alarm and we promptly got a call from the Ring monitoring station.
