Title: The Greatest Generation's greatest music
Review: This book had me at the African American couple on the cover, but what's inside is even better. It's a collection of the most tuneful and nostalgic songs of the American WW II, from The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy Of Company B, to tear jerkers like I'll Be Seeing You, and The White Cliffs Of Dover. The songs are not all war-themed; I'm loving that songs like Sentimental Journey, and That Old Black Magic are included too. There are pages of photographs and history that make this a fun book to just curl up with and read. I love this book for the lovely music, the guitar chords, and the fairly easy piano accompaniments. If you're a singer, a pianist, or just love a stroll down Memory Lane with the Greatest Generation, this book is for you!

Title: Songs of the WWII era
Review: Younger people won't know most of these songs but anyone 60 years old or older will. I was born a year after the was was over but I was raised knowing about the war. Everyone around me, adults, had been in the war or helped the war effort. And the songs were still being played on the radio when I was very young. Remember, no TV at this time or very few of them. Liberace had a daily show on TV a few years later and his theme song was "I'll Be Seeing You" and it's a WWII classic. If you ever see movies of WWII and there are songs from that era you like, get this book. It's a gem AND, the nice thing, there is an historical time-line and some general history in the front of the book. It's not all music. It really is a very good book!!! Any WWII "buff" would like it.

Title: Nice selection and most are easy to play on the piano.
Review: I love this book. I'm really fond of the music of the big band age, and these are easy enough for me to play. on the piano. (Also has guitar chords.) If you love jazz, especially Big Band and Dixieland, try attending JazzBash by the Bay in Monterey in March. We travel quite a distance to attend every year.

Title: Another good Hal Leonard song book
Review: A very good selection of songs from the World War !! era. Those were my teen years so was familiar with half of the fifty songs included in the book. I have never been disappointed with any of the Hal Leonard decade series and this is no exception. The suggested chords which I use to play are well chosen to give the song the familiar sound of the popular recordings. The book arrived in the time given and was in excellent condition as well.

Review: It was fun playing these World War II songs that I heard many times as a child. It brought back wonderful memories of my family members, now long passed, as they sang and danced to this music. Thank you for making this collection available.

Title: Memories
Review: Easy to play beautiful songs from the 40s. I'm enjoying it hugely. I have looked in many books of the period for the song, "I'll Be Seeing You" and was so happy to find it here. "...I'll be looking at the moon, but I'll be seeing you" is worth the whole book -- but there are also others equally well chosen that evoke those parlous times, especially for those of us who lived through them.

Title: Perfect for my retirement home
Review: It is perfect to use at my retirement home, as the residents all remember the songs. It arrived in perfect condition. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. I also love that it's neither too simple or too difficult. The arrangements are well done.
