Title: Had a huge selection of songs from the Sixties
Review: I thought the choices of the songs they chose to include were great. Overall, the piano music was pretty easy to play for someone who is a bit past the beginner stage of piano playing.

Title: Great Songs Of the Sixties Vol. 1, a nice reference
Review: This is a great collection of 82 rich and varied songs from the 60s from such writers as Hal David and Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney and John Lennon, Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, Antonio Jobim, Paul Simon, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and Stevie Wonder to name a few. Songs are arranged alphabetically by title, and an index of composers and lyricists is provided. The arrangements are for piano, voice and guitar. Commentaries by Milton Okum and Tom Wicker and seven pages of photos offer a look into the history of the decade from which these songs came.

Title: Classic songs of the sixties stand the test of time.
Review: A roommate I lived with owned this book in 1976. We were both rank amateur guitar players and we fiddled with this book a bit. Most of the songs were not easy to play because they were mostly sophisticated composition, "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof, is a good example. Music editors of the New York Times compiled the list of songs for the book, so their choices stand the test of time. The styles range from rock and roll, to folk, to broadway, and more. The songs are still good. Most of the songs were known to me, having grown up in the Sixties. I'm still playing guitar, so out of nostalgia I purchased another copy of the book. I'm enjoying re-discovering how to play these songs. Many classics...

Title: Just buy it.
Review: Milton Okun's collection has long been the benchmark in Sixties music compilations. Nearly every important song and songwriter is featured. The arrangements are easy to play, without being the stripped-down versions found in "easy piano" and "easy guitar" collections. The introduction offers excellent insight into the social and political upheaval that made the music of the Sixties more than just entertainment. If you play guitar or piano and want to learn (or relearn) the music of our most fascinating recent decade, this book will enthrall and delight you.

Title: Great variety of music!
Review: I love the selection of the music and think anyone who grew up in the 60s or 70s would appreciate the variety of songs. Not too easy, not too hard to play, and a lot of fun. Brings back memories.
