The Sony Alpha 9 III introduces the world’s first full-frame image sensor mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with global shutter system, combined with 24.6MP image quality, next-generation autofocus performance, unparalleled image capture, spectacular 4K movies and advanced connectivity and workflow to create a higher level of imaging performance. The Alpha 9 III features the world’s first full-frame stacked 24.6 MP CMOS image sensor with a global shutter system. Unlike a rolling shutter sensor that records images sequentially from the top row of pixels to the bottom, the newly developed Exmor RS™ image sensor exposes and reads all pixels simultaneously so the camera can capture fast-moving subjects with absolutely no distortion. Combined with a maximum shutter speed of 1/80,000 second, the Alpha 9 III is a game changer for professional photography. The new full-frame global shutter image sensor is equipped with 24.6 million effective pixels, a stacked CMOS architecture and integral memory. This offers high resolution, overwhelming speed, and simultaneous full-pixel readout, so even fast-moving subjects can be captured distortion-free. The sensor's stacked structure and advanced A/D conversion enable high-speed processing to proceed with minimal delay. The Alpha 9 III is defined by speed and accuracy, enabling it to capture decisive moments with ease. It’s capable of shooting continuous bursts at up to 120 fps with full AF/AE tracking, all without viewfinder blackout, and its highly advanced AI processing unit recognizes subjects with astonishingly high precision and reliability. At 1/80,000 second, the maximum shutter speed of the Alpha 9 III makes it easy to capture fast-moving subjects in almost any situation. What's more, a compatible flash unit from Sony can synchronize at all shutter speeds, eliminating the steep, nonlinear drop-off in illumination that occurs with high-speed sync (HSS) and ensuring even illumination across the image. Enjoy an uninterrupted view through the blackout-free viewfinder, even during fast-paced continuous shooting — a game changer for shooting sports and other fast-moving subjects. What’s more, the distracting time lag that is usually associated with EVF viewing has been reduced to a minimum, so that fleeting moments can be captured with confidence. The Alpha 9 III is packed with a high-precision image stabilization unit, advanced gyro sensors, and optimized image stabilization algorithms to effectively detect and correct camera shake, offering 8.0-step stabilization. This is further supported by compatible lenses with built-in image stabilization and improved communication between the camera and lenses, providing effective control for blur-free shooting even at telephoto focal lengths. Pre-Capture records the moments that occurred before the shutter is released. Settable from 0.005 to 1 second intervals, it’s available in any file format up to 120 fps with full AF/AE tracking. This makes it easier to capture split-second moments, such as images of birds taking flight, even if actual shutter release is a little late. Continuous Shooting Speed Boost temporarily boosts speed while shooting bursts, ensuring you capture all the action. This is beneficial when shooting sports and other fast-paced activities when the timing of the key moment can be roughly predicted. The AI processing unit supports enhanced Human, Animal, Bird, Insect, Car/Train and Airplane recognition. In the Car/Train category, it is now capable of recognizing helmets, such as those worn by the drivers of formula race cars. Animal recognition can recognize the eyes of some grazing and small animals, in addition to the eyes, heads, and bodies of dogs, cats, and similarly featured animals. Bird recognition has also been updated, more easily pinpointing the eyes of a variety of bird types as well as recognizing bird bodies. Plus, a new Animal/Bird setting eliminates the need to switch between two settings to shoot animals or birds. For the first time in the Sony Alpha lineup, the Alpha 9 III offers 4K (3840 x 2160) 120p movie recording without cropping, allowing users to utilize the full angle of view provided by any lens. For example, 4K footage shot in slow motion 120p and footage shot at normal speed 24p within the same scene will have the same angle of view and can be easily edited together without the need for reframing.
World's First Full Frame Global Shutter: The Alpha 9 III features the world’s first full-frame image sensor with a global shutter. Unlike a rolling shutter that records images sequentially, the newly developed Exmor RS sensor exposes and reads all pixels simultaneously for capture of fast-moving subjects with absolutely no distortion.
Blackout-free, 120fps Continuous Shooting: The Alpha 9 III is defined by speed and accuracy, enabling it to capture decisive moments with ease. It’s capable of shooting continuous bursts at up to 120fps with full AF/AE tracking, with no viewfinder blackout, and its AI processor recognizes subjects with astonishingly high reliability.
Preserve Split-second Moments: At 1/80,000 second maximum shutter speed, the Alpha 9 III makes it easy to capture fast-moving subjects in almost any situation. Compatible flash units can synchronize at all shutter speeds, eliminating drop-off in illumination that occurs with high-speed sync and ensuring even illumination.
Full-frame Backside Illuminated 24.6MP Exmor RS Image Sensor: The Alpha 9 III is equipped with 24.6 million effective pixels, a stacked CMOS architecture and integral memory. This offers high resolution, overwhelming speed, and simultaneous full-pixel readout, so even fast-moving subjects can be captured distortion-free.
Evolved BIONZ XR Image Processing Engine: With up to eight times more processing power than previous versions, the BIONZ XR processing engine minimizes latency and significantly boosts processing power, resulting in higher color gradation, more realistic color reproduction and reduced image noise.

Title: The #1 Camera on the Market
Review: If you’re looking for the fastest camera on the market, this one is it.The auto focus and tracking is insanely fast and can keep up with any subject.Best for sports and wildlife photography. The only downfall is the low MP, but it’s a small con, because the sensor is so good images come out great after cropping with high ISO.Highly recommend updating your lens firmware before attaching to this bad boy.

Title: Most powerful camera I have used
Review: The primary thing I like about this incredible camera is its speed. Speed of focus, shutter speed, speed of customizing to a particular setting, all really make the camera stand out. The camera feels great in the hand, and in the time I have been using has certainly allowed me to capture shots (nature, spontaneous family portraits) that not have been possible otherwise. Yes, it's a big investment, but I feel like the results are worth it. That said, I do wish it would accept CFexpress Type B cards (it accepts Type A only, or standard SD cards), and had a lower base ISO. That said, if you are a sports or nature (birds!) photographer this camera should be at the top of your list to consider.

Title: 24.6MP is enough the camera produces fantastic clear images
Review: Upgraded from a Sony A7siii - the video makers choice in Sony Alpha 7 series, I like the 24.6MP for workflow; seems like this size is a good size given the PROGRADE SDXC V90 cards i use at 128GB each. The Global Shutter has changed my game. I rarely post up my camera and let the action happen.

Title: Not it chief
Review: I am a nightclub and Festival photographer I currently use an A7III my buddy recently picked this up and I used it in the club I can't tell you how much I hated it. Definitely left a ton to be desired..For what I do my a7iii will outshoot this in low light and quality.I ended up getting A7Cii instead which was an obvious upgrade

Title: Incredible Camera!
Review: I’m primarily using this camera for video, which sounds weird for a camera sold as a sports photography beast, but it’s absolutely incredible with video. 120fps with no crop, 10 bit 4:2:2, dynamic active stabilization, 16 bit raw through HDMI, a screen that can turn to face basically whatever you want, and the best ergonomics I’ve ever felt in a camera. Overkill in some ways? Yeah. A bit lacking in iso and dynamic range? A TINY bit. But, this thing scratches every itch I have, and makes me want to take more photos to boot. 100% love this thing!

Title: Global shutter with an Image quality cost
Review: Global Shutter costs up to one stop in image quality in return for added performance. Sony said the A9 m3 sensor overcame any compromise in dynamic range (or ISO), this doesn't seem to hold true. This shouldn't be an issue for PRO-sports photographers, where prioritizing a high shutter speed is crucial rather than focusing on optimizing image quality.

Title: The best ever action camera!
Review: This camera is not for everybody, and no camera is. However, if you want to catch those impossible action shots, here it is. Yes, 24 megapixels is lower, but you can still take great landscape pictures. You just can't crop them as much. If you want to use a flash, you can outperform any camera by not having to worry about the sync speed. My primary interest is bird photography, and especially birds in flight. The autofocus is fast and tracks amazingly well, even better than my A7 IV (which was very good). The subject recognition can be set to humans, animals, birds, insects, and more. This aids in finding and maintaining focus.Additional features are game changers: global shutter, pre-capture, and burst speed. Read the information on these above.Yes, you give up a stop in ISO performance, and you don't have the resolution, but the tradeoff is pictures you could never successfully consistently capture before. As a side note, the steady-shot function on this camera is great. I have hand-held still shots at a half second with excellent results, which allowed me to shoot at a much lower ISO.The attached photos show how pre-capture and continuous focusing easily capture otherwise difficult shots. There are way too many features to cover, but if you are excited about action shots (sports, birds, animals in motion, auto racing, etc.), then this is the camera.
