Science is beginning to understand that our thinking has a deep and complicated relationship with our eating. Our thoughts before, during, and after eating profoundly impact our food choices, our digestive health, our brain health, and more. Yet most of us give very little thought to our food beyond taste and basic nutritional content.

In this revolutionary book, Dr. Caroline Leaf packs an incredible amount of information that will change listeners' eating and thinking habits for the better. Rather than getting caught up in whether we should go raw or vegan, gluten-free or paleo, Leaf shows listeners that every individual is unique, has unique nutritional needs, and has the power to impact their own health through the right thinking. There's no one perfect solution. Rather, she shows us how to change the way we think about food and put ourselves on the path towards health.

Anyone who is tired of traditional diet plans that don't work, who struggles with emotional eating, or who simply isn't satisfied with their level of health will find in this book the key to discovering how they can begin developing a healthier body, brain, and spirit.

Title: No ordinary diet book!!
Review: This is not your ordinary, how-to diet book. It reveals the truth behind our food industry along with valuable information about food so you can make healthy choices specific to you. It is quite shocking, actually. It doesn't stop there, though. Dr.Leaf goes on in part two about the mindset behind the meal and how important it is to change our thinking if we are to truly make healthier food choices. We were created to be healthy, energetic, and focused to partake in all that God has for us and this book will help you get there. I found this to be an extraordinary read and highly recommend it! I've already purchased another copy to give away!

Title: Think Differently About Your Food
Review: I thought I was pretty informed regarding "food" in the U.S. Turns out I was sadly mistaken-I didn't know nearly as much as I thought I did. To be honest, this book will depress you before it empowers you. Tons of stats in here that are sobering and eye-opening. Just may cause you to toss and turn in bed for a bit. But you will be equipped with the means to evaluate what you are eating, why you are eating it, and learn to use your dollars differently when it comes to purchasing provisions. My main concern (and the reason for 4 stars) is that there are so many in our nation who don't have the financial means of buying unadulterated food. As one who buys organic as much as possible (and it turns out the "organic" I buy actually isn't all that good either), I know it is more expensive. Meat can be twice to 3 times as much as conventional. My 25 year old son can't afford that-I can barely afford it! And I do buy local as much as possible. So this book could discourage some. I also personally disliked the feeling that I was sinning if I didn't buy organic via local farmers, etc. But I believe this book can start a movement that inspires creativity and community when it comes to where and how we get our food. This wealth of info is the catalyst to that movement, and it will send a message to our government that we refuse to allow them to control our food supply. Definitely worth a read!

Title: A Book Not to Be Overlooked
Review: So weary am I of all the many voices proclaiming THE ways to eat well and lose weight. Are you? If you're like me and have tried, sincerely tried, to implement a healthy lifestyle by altering food intake and behavior but are challenged in meeting goals, this is a book for you. It's based on solid research which encompasses cutting edge information and integration of variables such as nutrition, food supply sources, thinking and its effect on the your unique body, in addition to motivation to continue. The author, Dr. Caroline Leaf, is a genius! A cognitive neuroscientist, she has studied and researched the Mind-Brain connection. From a bedrock of vast knowledge base and experience, she has presented concepts which, when synthesized into one's choices, can renew and transfigure any life. In this new book, Dr. Leaf focuses on a topic becoming increasingly prominent, for we as a society are waking up to the reality of the inseparable connection between the brain and the gut. This book is both inspiring and refreshing!Oh! You might like the opportunity to tap into online coaching from Dr. Caroline. Scurry on over: (...)

Title: An eye opener
Review: I love Dr. Caroline Leaf, I learned about her in one of her conferences in San Jose CA. She blew my mind big time, she is such an atomic bomb of knowledge. In this book she explains the importance of eating healthy not just for your body but also your mind. She brought up things that I had never thought about, one of my favorite quote is, "you eat what your food ate". This book has made me concious about where my food comes from and how it was treated before it made it to my kitchen, and let me tell you: it doesn't look good. Another topic the hit home was toxic schedules and television: twin enemies, oh boy!!!!! I found some truths in there. I like how she lists all her sources so you can dig deeper and learn more, she also has some good food recipes at the end of the book. I do recomend this book

Title: Not My Favorite
Review: There is a lot of info in this book and if you can afford to buy all organic good this is your book. Leaf spends a bit of time talking about attitudes towards eating and a LOT of time talking about the evils of processed foods, etc. Nobody will argue about that but it is what most people who have average and below incomes are left to consume. This book is an academic exercise with some Biblical references thrown in. I don't know what I expected but what I got is mostly a retelling of all we have heard before from all the trendy folks about the importance of organic, real food. For some this will be a reinforcement of that lifestyle. I, too, think that is the ideal but not possible for many making this a bit shaming. Can’t afford all organic? What are some other strategies? Unfortunately, eating organic foods, living a carbon-free life, the whole earth movement become a religion for some people. I’m not saying the author is suggesting this but for those folks, this is a great book. If you don’t believe it then there are 73 pages (!) of 328 pages - 21%- of the book to justify and prove what she says.

Review: Simplistic. No new information, generalised list of ideas already in public knowledge. Not a neuroscientific but an Americanised religious approach: Jesus, God and the Bible are practically mentioned on each page. Great deception. If you are after a scientific description of what impact food has on your brain, look for another book...
