Title: A must have for the Shrek fan - only 1 complaint
Review: There are not a lot of albums out there that I like every song on - yet alone many albums that my kids and I both enjoy every song on, but this one is it for us! Of course we loved the movie Shrek so that is part of it I am sure. If you are not a huge Shrek fan you probably won't be all that interested in the soundtrack. If you love the big green guy like we do then you will have a great time listening to the songs on this cd.I found myself appreciating the music on a deeper level than simply a tribute to the movie. I truly love the mix of songs included. I like the remakes of most of the songs like Smashmouth's version of "I'm a Believer" and Hallelujah is one of my all-time favorites.My only complaint about the album is that they didn't use Joan Jett's version of "Bad Reputation" even though that is what they played in the movie. I think that is misleading when they don't use the same song that they did in the soundtrack and then they call it the "soundtrack"! I've gotten used to the one on the album and it is ok, but I really wish it would have been Joan Jett singing instead! Maybe I should have given the album 4 stars for that reason, but I love it too much anyway.

Title: Great music for great film
Review: Having seen this film, I had to buy to the music CD. It always amazes me when someone sits and picks individual artists and songs to fit a film's story. Whoever did this one did a wonderful job.Besides the original music written for the film, there are several performances which stand out. Smashmouth is not only featured in their own hit "All Star" but also in singing Neil Diamond's "I'm a Believer". Jason Wade sings an updated version of the 1950s Jo Stafford hit "You Belong to Me" which is great. I don't know who decided to include Rufus Wainwright's cover of the Leonard Cohen song, "Hallelujah", but it was an excellent choice. Up until now, my favorite version of this song, filled with deep feelings, was the one by John Cale. However, I will now have to add Wainwright's to my list. They have included "I'm On My Way" by the much maligned and frequently overlooked singing duo, "The Proclaimers", and it fits perfectly. Finally, there is a reprise of "I'm a Believer" by Eddie Murphy as the character, "Donkey" which is just the right touch as music over the closing credits.I could go on and on, but I just suggest that you buy this CD and enjoy it.

Title: One of my favorite CD's
Review: I've had this CD in the changer in my car for over a year now. I've switched out several other CDs over time, but this one keeps it's place. One of the main reasons I'm looking forward to the sequel movie is with the hopes that they produce another CD like this one! (of course I'm looking forward to the movie itself as well!)I don't understand the complaints of some other reviewers saying that this CD doesn't reflect the songs actually in the movie. Every song on this CD was in the movie (sometimes very briefly), the only possible exception is "Hallelujah" which appears in both the movie and the CD, but by different artists... I can only assume that there was some sort of contract problem that they encountered with the CD, and instead of just leaving it out all-together, they were able to sign a deal with another artist.There -is- another soundtrack available which has the "orchestral" music from the movie (of which only one track appears on "this" CD). So if you want the orchestral music, check out the other CD (but get this one as well!)

Title: Almost 100% perfect
Review: Truly I love it and it was one of my best purchases during 2020 but my one complaint is why I didn't give it five stars. Not all of the songs play at the same volume. It bounced around and my favorite song, Best Years of Our Lives, plays significantly softer than all of the other songs so I was really disappointed that I was unable to blast it. But other than that I absolutely love it and I have had it on repeat!

Title: Received incorrect product but other than the issue with Amazon, great vinyl.
Review: I bought this ironically when it was up for preorder as the record itself was going to be green, but it ended up showing up with standard black vinyl. I never listened to it for quite some time since I had no need to listen to the Shrek soundtrack, but I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the pressing is pretty wild. Most bands donât even release albums that are this well pressed.
