Title: Simple recipes, Simple ingredients, Simple instructons......
Review: Very happy with the recipes. No "exotic or weird" type ingredients. Simple, straight forward with plenty of photos. Even has a few pages of breads to go along with the soups and stews. Can't wait to try all the recipes come fall, winter and spring. If you have a problem with sodium, then I suggest you use low sodium broths or low sodium tomato paste / diced tomatoes. You can also substitute "canned" vegetables for fresh or frozen if you wish to make it more "from scratch" .

Title: Great for a beginner soup chef
Review: This is a great book for someone who is a novice at soup making. I purchased this for my recently widowed father and he likes the recipes. He said they are simple and easy. Many of the recipe books he was looking at were too complex. He wanted simple, easy to use recipes. Even my picky husband found a few recipes that he wanted to try.

Review: I am the soup maker for my sons pub and have gotten a lot of good recipes from this book. My favorites are the corn chowder and the cheeseburger soup but there are many good ones.

Review: We are big soup fans, and I buy soup cookbooks whenever I see one. Taste of Home cookbooks in general are all really good, but this one has a large variety of soup recipes. Good buy.

Title: Great Go-To Cookbook!
Review: Impressive compilation with nearly every recipe having a sharply focused, colorful photo. I like the way the book is sectioned but my 2 favorite features are: these recipes are made with generally readily-available ingredients with clear directions; and, there isn't a dependence on undiluted soups as a base. Broth, when called for can be homemade or purchased. The font size darkness of print make this an easily-read book. Kudos to Readers Digest for this cookbook! Would recommend this cookbook for novice and seasoned cooks.
