Title: NOBODY DOES IT BETTER
Review: Sports Illustrated magazine did the best job of any magazine of covering and reporting on Sports Celebrities and the major sports events of the 20th century, the table of contents gives you a good preview of what is in this book:1. The Golden Age 1954-1962Introduction....8The Era in Pictures........10From the pages of Sports Illustrated........322. The Age of Audacity 1963-1975Introduction......48The Era in Pictures.....50From the pages of Sports Illustrated....823. The Era of Freedom 1976-1983Introduction.....102The Era in Pictures.......104From the pages of Sports Illustrated......124The Selling of Sport 1984-1995Introduction.....140The Era in Pictures.....142From the pages of Sports Illustrated...174My favorite page of this book is page 61 "Muhammad Ali, now a fervent Black Muslim, refuses induction into the armed services, declaring himself a conscientious objector. In May (1967) he will be convicted of draft evasion and eventually stripped of his title. Howard Cosell (to Ali's right) remains among his staunchest supporters throughout the ordeal. In 1971, the Supreme Court overturns his conviction." This is why I admire Muhammad Ali, he stood up for what he believed in, no matter the consequences. The pictures in this book are of an excellent quality and the articles are well written, if you're a sports fan then you should buy this book.
