Turn your yard into a bird lovers' paradise with this Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone II Country Style Bird Feeder. Attract everything from cardinals, finches, flickers, and grackles to grosbeaks, jays, and juncos. This bird feeder provides an optimal feeding station for birds, without catering to those sneaky squirrels. It does so by utilizing a weight-activated perch that closes off under a squirrel’s weight, while your favorite birds can still access the seed just fine. Adjustable springs can be calibrated to accommodate different bird sizes and keep away large nuisance birds as well. In addition, this feeder boasts an all-metal construction to resist squirrel damage and a powder-coated finish to resist rust. For your convenience, this feeder can be hung on a hook or pole mounted to allow versatile placement (and help with your squirrel prevention measures). The removable metal roof reveals a large opening that enables easy filling and cleaning. This feeder is able to hold up to 8 lb of black-oil sunflower seed, hulled sunflower seed, mixed seed, or safflower seed so it’s sure to keep your hungry birds happy and well fed.

Title: Birds love it⦠me too!
Review: Beautiful bird feeder! Easy to fill, with a locking roof that so far squirrels and raccoons have not been able to openð¤ð»! Birds love it. Very well made, holds a lot of seeds, easy to clean. I bought one for my neighbor and heâs just as pleased. One issue⦠animals were able to disengage lever that closes access to the seeds when a certain weight is on the landing bar. The lever is adjustable⦠I try to keep it to lightest weight due to number of squirrels⦠and raccoons alsoâ if I forget to bring feeder in early enough. That setting makes it harder for the heavier blue jays, flickers, and woodpeckers ⦠but I offer them a suet or seed cake separately. I finally got a plastic covered wire and wrapped it around to hold lever to notch Iâd chosen. This works very well to keep bigger animals from feasting on the seeds and quickly emptying the feeder! Baby squirrels still get access, larger ones find ways to hang from roof to avoid stepping on lever⦠but still, canât easily get the seeds so holding the lever catch in highest notch with wire seems to eliminate enough access that the animals get discouraged, canât empty the feeder as they did when they could disengage the lever. All in all⦠highly recommend this feeder! Itâs a bit costlier than many, but totally worth itâ esp if you have a lot of squirrels etc aroundâ¦. And itâs so. Ice looking!PS At night I store feeders in a waterproof plastic bin ( Plano brand), latches tight âraccoons canât get lid open, but seems theyâve been trying & have now nearly chewed through heavy plastic by the latches trying to get in! Ah well! Raccoons are the biggest issue because they will scratch at the feeder, chew on the landing bar trying to get past it and scratched, chipped the paint on former model I had. Spray paint fixed that but now I just take feeders down at night. Ongoing battle. Hope you donât have same problem⦠but if so, recommend taking feeder down. Big pain⦠butð¤·ð»ââï¸big pleasure watching all the birds!

Title: Great bird feeder!
Review: Love this feeder! The set up, or assembly was super easy. It is well made, sturdy and, so far, squirrel proof. It is actually quite entertaining to watch the squirrels try to get at the sunflower seed! This feeder holds a substantial amount of seed, so you aren't filling daily. Plus, it's so cute! I would highly recommend!

Title: Pretty and very solid! My Birds love it!
Review: This bird feeder is pretty, sturdy and seems to do the promised job of keeping squirrels at bay, or should I say - away from it! There is a lever to the left side of the sitting bar, and one can adjust it to different sensitivities. When the lever is on its lightest, only smaller birds, like cardinals and titmice and robins can sit on it, whereas pigeons would press the feeder closed. When the lever is tightened, I think that larger birds would be able to come and feed, too. The squirrels, those little shenanigans, have tried to out-smart this feeder, but without any success so far.March 2nd, 2015 Add-onI downgraded this feeder to 3 stars, because after several weeks, I must say that I do not see as much bird traffic on it as I was used to with my old, wooden feeder. I am wondering why this is so... maybe it is the limited access space? Just one side, and room for 4 small, sparrow-type birds, if they sat nicely side by side... which of course, they won't! The squirrels sometimes find a way to get into it, too. But, that is OK, it is not all the time.I am missing my wooden feeder! There was a big bird party around it going on all day, every day, all winter long... now I am putting out the bird food on the side, on the patio table, so that more birds come to feed.UPDATE JANUARY 2021Yes, it has been that many years, and every winter season, this feeder has been doing its job. When we hung it from the big tree we had in our yard, squirrels would eventually manage to get onto the feeder. With their hind legs, hey grab onto the bar over the feeder, then just hang down over the roof to eat from the tray. It does not keep the birds away, though: after some initial inquisitiveness and reserve, we have plenty of birds of all sorts, all day long. It is so entertaining to watch them take turns. I have to fill the house every two days. The squirrels are not that much of a customer, really. And we don't mind them coming and eating, too. Overall, they don't take that much away. Our dogs chase them soon after they arrive, mostly! Now, I re-stationed it since last winter, as we had to take down the tree. It now hangs down from the outer most joist of the deck roof structure. Looks like this place keeps squirrels away. They investigated, but then turned away.NOTE: This is a three part review, the last part being in January of 2021Overall, I am very happy with this bird feeder. It has only a little rust now on the handle bar. Other than that, it is in mint condition.I have noticed that many people gave it very bad reviews. I don't know, why. My feeder is awesome. The birds love it and six years of perfect service is not a bad track record at all.I would have given it 5 stars if the roof had a wider overhang on the feeding side, so as to better protect the food from snowfall and rain. Ideally, I'd add another 5 inches of overhang. Maybe the makers of this bird house can take note?If you find my review helpful, thanks for letting me know!

Title: Effective and Squirrel-Proof
Review: The Perky-Pet 338 Squirrel-Be-Gone II Country House Bird Feeder truly lives up to its nameâit really works! I've tried various bird feeders in the past, but this one is by far the most effective at keeping squirrels at bay. The design is ingenious, making it virtually impossible for squirrels to access the bird seed.I love watching the birds visit without the constant interruption of squirrels trying to raid the feeder. The country house design is charming and fits well in my backyard décor. If you're looking for a bird feeder that is hated by squirrels and loved by birds, look no further than the Perky-Pet 338 Squirrel-Be-Gone II. Highly recommended!

Review: We are totally impressed with this feeders quality, capacity and appearance. It provides a lack of ability for party crashing squirrels. All types of birds are flocking in, they're relaxed and don't rush off due to threats or intimidation. Worth every cent 🙂

Review: Love it. It's well built. Very sturdy with a nice finish that is easy to clean. It takes a good amount of feed. The birds feed on it freely. Our friends, the squirrels have tried to feed on it too but this feeder works as it should. Because of the squirrel's weight, the feeding window shuts off right away as soon as a squirrel climbs on it. Very happy with it.

Review: This is the first squirrel proof bird feeder we can recommend. We have purchased lots of others saying they were squirrel proof but our squirrels managed to shake / bite and thus get to the bird seed. I saw this online in USA and was most happy to see we could buy the exact same type in the UK.We have watched the squirrels try all sorts of ways to get the seeds - biting - swinging upside down - going different ways to no avail. They are still trying and top marks for their tenacity. We have separated (by the use of cardboard) the inside of middle section and so have put in sunflower seeds, peanut bits and worms. It took a couple of weeks for the birds to adjust to this new feeder. Now we see tits & robins use the feeder. Less frequently we have seen the sparrows go to the middle section for the worms but mainly they gather the seeds from the ground. Though they go to the feeders in the front garden all through the day.Hopefully the sparrows will use this new feeder regularly.Highly recommend this bird feeder - looks great - bought the poles - good value.Recommend that the manufacturer divides the internal compartments into three so birds go to their preferred section.

Customers say
Customers like the appearance, build quality, and functionality of the wildlife feeder. They mention it's very nice looking, heavy enough to withstand some of the winds they get, and works well for pole-mounted feeders. Customers are also happy with its large capacity. However, some customers have mixed opinions on squirrel protection, bird feed, value for money, and ease of assembly.
