Title: Additional peace of mind
Review: Put this in along with the oil heater......simple wiring harness is included and easy to connect......hardest part is taking all of the cover panels off to get to where you have to get to......I did not remove the fuses and flip the breaker that the directions said to......just was careful with what I was doing while running the wire around and connecting to the power source.......seems to be working as advertised.....

Review: The original battery heaters were just over a 1/16" thick. Over time with the weight of the battery on them and the vibration of the generator running, they would chafe through and short out to the grounded battery compartment floor. Generac now mounts these heaters to what seems to be a 3/16" silicone backing to prevent the heater from shorting to ground. In addition the backing also has a peel and stick side allowing it to be permanently fixed to the battery compartment floor. Much better design!!
