Title: Best stick vacuum I've used
Review: I've used several stick vacuums in the past. My last one was an older wired Eureka that I bought about six years ago. It still works, but I could tell parts were starting to become loose, and it was time to get a replacement before the old one broke. My main issue with the old Eureka is its cord is too short. At 15 feet long it needed to be plugged/unplugged multiple times just to do the main floor. I decided I needed to get a cordless vacuum. After doing a lot of research I came to the conclusion that cordless vacuums either cost too much, or their batteries just don't last. I decided to look at corded vacuums again. Being pleased with our old Eureka I decided to see what they had to offer. That's when I found this vacuum. The Eureka Flash Lightweight Stick Vacuum pros/consPROSCord - 30 foot cord that I can plug into one outlet, and do my whole main floor. Of course each house is different, so your millage may vary. Either way, it has a lot of cord to give you a lot of freedom. Not having to worry about charging batteries, or worrying about the battery dying while I'm vacuuming is great. Full power all the time without battery worries is awesome! Yes you need to deal with the cord, but it really doesn't get in the way that much, and in my opinion the cord is much less of a hassle than dealing with batteries.Suction - I have found the suction of this vacuum to be great. We're talking about a stick vacuum here, so don't expect the same power as a full upright vacuum. That being said, it does great on our hardwood floors, and it even does well on carpet. Two in One - I really like being able to easily disconnect the roller brush section and suck things up that hide in nooks and crannies while on the go. This has come in handy more than I thought it would.Swivel - I didn't think I would care about the swivel feature of the roller brush section. I was wrong. The swivel feature is awesome! Not sure how I lived without it in the past. Great for getting in and around tight areas.Attachments - I have not used the attachments very much, but they seem like they should work very well when needed. My last vacuum did not have attachments, so I welcome the added versatility the attachments give this vacuum.Filter/Dust Bin - The dust bin seems to be large enough to hold everything from one round of vacuuming. I dump it every time I'm done, so its size works well for me. If you like to vacuum multiple times before dumping the dust bin you might find it isn't big enough. That being said, we have two cats, so the dust bin might fill up faster for me than it does for you if you are furry pet free. The filter seems to work well, but it does have a small con I will list below.CONSLED lights - The LED lights are not very bright. Seems like they could have just left them off if they weren't going to put bright ones on there. I could see where they might want to conserve power on a cordless vacuum, but there is no reason to conserve power on a corded vacuum. They should have either spent the extra $2 on parts and went with extra bright LED lights, or just leave them off. The LED lights weren't a big deal to me anyway so I don't care that they're dim, but if you were buying this vacuum so you could vacuum in dark places without the lights on you might want to order a flashlight too.Filter - This is a minor thing, and one I knew about before ordering, so it isn't a big deal to me. The filter is not a HEPA filter. It would have been nice if it was. I'm sure if it had a HEPA filter the suction would have been reduced, so I guess you need to decide which is more important to you. If you need a HEPA filter this isn't your vacuum.CONCLUSIONAll in all I am very impressed with this vacuum. Great suction, long cord, not too heavy, no batteries to worry about, solid construction, and a great price!

Title: All Pros, no Cons
Review: A little background:My home is one-story, 1,000 sq. feet, mostly terrazzo, with some laminate wood flooring, and low-pile carpet mats at the entries. I have more cats than a normal person should have (one long-haired, two medium-haired, and three short-haired), and a retired husband who enjoys the beach. I vacuum twice a day.My vacuum requirements, non-negotiable:A long cord; this one is 30 feet. A large dust cup; this one is 1 liter. Goes under beds/furniture; check. My experience after using the Flash twice a day, 15 to 20 minutes each time, for two weeks:I have never owned a vacuum like this and did have to go through a learning curve the first time I used it. Some reviewers mention that the floor nozzle seems to lift up off of the floor. I too experienced that, but found that if I kept my arm almost straight, which keeps the handle low, and use long back and forth movements I did not have that problem. In smaller areas where you need more precise, short movements, I just bent my arm a little bit, which brings the handle up, and that did the trick for me. The floor nozzle is motorized, which helps propel it forward; I had no problems pulling it backwards. This is a very quiet vacuum, and does not scare the cats as much as my previous vacuum. The total weight is 7.4 pounds; I took it apart, weighing just the hand vacuum portion and it is 5 pounds. I am in my mid-50’s and for me the weight was not an issue. The on/off slide switch is conveniently located on the handle, and also controls the two speeds for the motorized brush roll (which cannot be deactivated); the 1st position/speed is for bare floors, and the 2nd position/speed is for carpet/rugs. It picked up everything in a single pass on the bare floors, with a couple passes needed on the carpet mats, which is typical in my experience. (My entry mats are adhered to the floors with carpet-tape because I was tired of re-positioning them whenever the cats and/or hubby moved them out of place. Not sure if there would have been an issue with the vacuum trying to suck them up if they weren’t adhered.) Some motorized brush rolls seem to throw back the litter/cat food instead of vacuuming it up, but that was not an issue for the Flash. I keep an eye on the brush roll in case anything gets stuck/wrapped in it, but it is easy to take care of if that happens. Since it has a 30 foot long cord (and I have a small home) I can vacuum my WFH office, bedroom, hall, bathroom and living room from one plug. One more plug gets the dining area, kitchen and bonus room. The 1 liter dust cup is very easy to empty; since there is a lot of dust when emptying I do that in the trash can in the garage. I empty it once a day, whether it needs it or not. Even though the Flash comes with a crevice tool and a 2-in-1 upholstery tool (which can be stored on the stand, not on the vacuum), I did not plan to use it for above the floor cleaning, such as drapes, blinds, furniture. In my past experience, stick-type vacuums were too awkward and inefficient to use for that type of cleaning. Since the Flash did such a great job on my floors, I decided to test it out with some above the floor cleaning. I quickly and easily removed the floor nozzle, attached the crevice tool to the wand, and used it to grab some cobwebs from a corner of the ceiling. The reach was the perfect length, there was no hose to mess with, and it was not heavy or awkward to use. The Flash also comes apart and back together in so many different ways, I think it will be able to clean any area of my home with no problems. It is important to know that the vacuum does not stand on its own, so if you are in the middle of cleaning and need to stop you could try leaning it against the wall or a piece of furniture. I didn’t want to take a chance that it might fall over so I just lay it flat and out of my way. The Flash comes with a storage stand, which holds the two tools and the vacuum. You will need to detach the hand vacuum portion from the wand/floor nozzle portion to put it on the stand, but it takes just the click of a button to separate the two sections. I have not dealt with the filters yet, but they are easy to access and the manual says that they are washable. I reached out to Eureka to find out where to buy another set or two so that I always have a clean, dry set, but was told that because this is a new vacuum that the filters are not yet available to purchase separately, from them or anyone else. They assured me that the filters would/should be available at some point, could not give me an ETA, and suggested I check back with them later. I will update my post as soon as I have any information about the filters.

Title: (Mostly) Awesome Vacuum
Review: I've had this vacuum for four months - bought it when I bought my house, and have been fixing up the house and making considerable messes in the process. I've used a big shop vac for the big messes, but just finished installing new flooring, and everything is covered in a layer of dust. This guy did a great job of picking up the fine dust off the wood floors - I wiped them down with a microfiber cloth after vacuuming and was impressed at how little was left behind. The roller has some power behind it, it does a great job on my carpet stair treads and area rug. I don't have pets (for now) or kids, so my regular routine cleaning is pretty light - I think this will handle pet hair just fine when I do get pets.CONS: I've noticed that it doesn't do a great job when its rolling backwards, it tends to drag stuff on the backward motion. The BIGGEST flaw with this vacuum is that the lid to the dust cup is not attached. More than once I have tipped the vacuum to find the dust cup release button, and the cup comes tumbling out and since there's nothing holding the lid on, the contents of the vacuum spill out all over - OR I've dropped the lid right into the garbage can. Why not hinge the lid like Shark does?PROS: It's powerful for a light stick vacuum. I love how lightweight it is - I can carry it up the stairs in one hand, leaving my other hand free for laundry, etc. This vacuum was on sale when I got it, and I had some rewards points, so I got it for under $100. For the price I think I got a pretty good deal for a pretty good vacuum. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, and I would recommend it.

Review: Was really excited to give this to my elderly mother as a lightweight vacuum but when it arrived it has a European 2 pin plug. I asked my electrician neighbour to advise me on an adaptor but after looking at the voltage he realized it is incompatible and cannot be used in the uk. Shame, as it looked such a good buy.Update - three weeks later I have yet to receive my money back. Seller refusing to refund my money and my vacuum is waiting in a depot in Germany with the seller refusing to collect. Avoid this seller and this product at all costs.
