Title: READ BEFORE BUYING! Great Roku stick and a great price!!
Review: ***Quick note before reading numerous reviews! I research everything immensely before I buy it and one HUGE discrepancy I noticed when reading the top reviews for Roku devices is that they mostly date back to 2017-2018 and sometimes even before. Please take into account that THIS Roku is the 2019 release date and THAT is the device you will receive and the device that I purchased & reviewed :). I'm sure what other's wrote is valid for their particular Roku based on the release date but rest assured that a review from 2017 or 2018 can NOT cover a product released in 2019! Hope this proves helpful for anyone considering any streaming device (don't judge the newest model on old model reviews)!A little back story, I do own both Rokus (5 now 😂- mostly different generations but my two most recent ones are this one and the Ultra) and Amazon Fire Sticks (2 - various generations) and although I enjoy them all for the fact that we were able to cut our cable about 6 years ago thanks to them, I would say I am thoroughly enjoying this one and the Ultra the most. The technology is the most recent release dates and they stream absolutely flawlessly!I chose to purchase this particular Roku for my father because his bedroom is located on the top floor of our home while our modem is connected in our basement which is a concrete box of internet deadzone (the modem must be connected down there or the internet won't reach the entire house unfortunately, but we are in the process of getting booster Pods from Xfinity). We have the now 300 mb Xfinity internet (aka nerdy gaming speeds - was previously 250 mb) with our router/modem located in our basement for optimum connectivity and a WiFi range extender but our house still has connectivity issues with most devices. This Roku is not only 4K but it's supposed to be exceptionally good for connectivity which played a huge role in choosing this particular one.As soon as I plugged this Roku in, it was love at first home screen just as I had experienced with the Ultra that I had purchased several weeks prior. It recognized all my accounts, downloaded everything quickly, was extremely user friendly and the streaming quality is AMAZING. My father had become all too familiar with the loading screens on various streaming devices and we are ecstatic to be able to say goodbye to them for good thanks to the long-range wireless receiver in this bad boy. The picture quality is always exceptional whether streaming HD, HDR or 4K. This particular Roku stick is also so user friendly that my 70 year father (who generally avoids computers and technology like the plague) can even use it! I also believe this to be the best Roku for it's price point. The Ultra is amazing, but is not necessary in my opinion for most users although it too is highly impressive. We are very pleased with this Roku device and would definitely recommend it.***I took side by side photos of his new Roku (this one - the Roku Streaming Stick+) and his older model, the Roku 3. You can see based off the photos the difference in the remotes, particularly that the newer remote is much skinnier and more comfortable in your hand. The volume controls are the same with the exception of the mute button on the new remote. The Roku 3 remote is also shiny and has different channel buttons compared to the Roku Stick+ remote that is a matte black and features newer streaming channels. The new remote also has the on/off button that most Roku's feature and allows you to easily connect to your tv (it literally auto connects for you) and gives you the power to use your Roku remote on your TV as well. Last note, the picture quality is beautiful even on my Dad's older LG flat screen, but my phone only takes sub par pictures of it so don't mind that 😂.

Title: Arrived Same Day - Working Perfectly!
Review: Interested in "cutting the cord", I researched the best streaming devices, and found that the Roku Streaming Stick+ was consistently in the top 5 and was the best value for the money for our particular family. I was able to choose same-day delivery, and received them in the late afternoon. They were contained in a larger box, so no one could see what was in the package, and the delivery person thoughtfully put them behind a half-wall in our entry court, rather than right in front of the door where they could be seen from the street, which I appreciated! When removed from the box, the items were just as described, in unopened, original packaging. The quick start guide takes you step-by-step through attaching the Roku to your TV and syncing it to the remote, and from that point on, you simply follow the on-screen directions as it walks you through setting up your Roku account (free - but keep in mind that you will need a laptop, desk computer, or phone present in order to access the Roku website to do this), linking your device to it, and starting to use it. It was easy to add the streaming services we already had, such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, and interesting to browse the many free options available and add the ones we wanted - the Western TV & Movie Classics" channel is a big hit with my husband and his dad. Once set up, there are links on the home page to a "Getting Started" with Roku page, and a "Tips and Tricks" to Using Roku page for more information regarding your Roku, in addition to tiles for whatever channels you chose during your set-up.We have been using these (we installed two in our home, and one in my 90-year-old father-in-law's home) for a month now, and have had no issues whatsoever. We have not had any problems with lag, and pictures are clear and bright (any fuzziness in the photos I've provided are the fault of the camera operator!). The user interface is pretty standard for this type of thing - the biggest learning curve we faced was figuring out exactly which apps the shows we normally watched were on. However, between being able to customize which streaming apps appear on your home page, and the two ways to search - you can either type in the name in the search bar, or you can hold down a microphone-iconed button on the remote and, for example, say "Search Criminal Minds", it is fairly easy to get to where you want to be without having to flounder around in the interface. Even dad-in-law, who is somewhat electronically challenged, got the hang of it fairly quickly, and is very comfortable with using the interface at this point. We are all very happy with the device and service. Highly recommended!NOTE: Regarding the stick being at the side of the TV in our photo, in case anyone is concerned about the aesthetics of having this sticking out of your TV - there were other HDMI ports we could have used at the back of the TV, where the stick would have been hidden and only the Roku power cord coming down next to the TV power cord would have been visible. However, these were difficult for me to reach, and since my husband is not very technologically savvy, I am the one who usually deals with the electronics and troubleshoots when there are problems, so I was more concerned with the device being easily accessible that I was about how it looked. Rest assured, if you want a neater look, it is certainly available if you choose to use an HDMI port at the back of your TV. :- )

Review: Very happy with it so far. I'm a Prime customer and have many Echoes at home, but decided to go with Roku this time. The tiebreaker was the fact that this one can be plugged to my TV's USB for power, minimizing the number of cables. Some people say that you can do that with the Fire TV too, but Amazon says it's not recommended, so I decided not to risk it. I have an older, cheap TV in the bedroom and so far it's working great. Besides, I didn't see any additional value for Prime customers...Update:I tried a friend's Amazon stick on my TV and, contrary to my ROKU, it did not work while getting power from my TV's USB port (it said it wasn't getting enough power).

Review: The Roku streaming stick+ delivers high quality video and sound (dependent on broadcast specification). It provides access to many apps including Netflix, Prime, Disney, Apple, etc., as well as free sites such as YouTube, Pluto & Plex. It also provides access to UK based platforms such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4, My5, UKTV Play & STV Player. All sites can be signed in directly except All4 where I needed to sign in to All4 / Roku on my PC first then All4 on the Roku stick. The unit fits nicely at the back of the TV (HDMI port and USB port for power) and is very flexible (plug into to other devices, including a Projector, if required). The hand controller works well and is simple and easy to use (I have not used voice recognition or integrated into Alexa so these are not scored these in the feedback). A great quality, flexible product.

Review: I got one in January 2022 and the remote has stopped pairing with the device. Contacted Roku support and they were unhelpful. This is a very poor service. So frustrated that I bought it.
