A NEW BEGINNING
Hollywood actor Dayne Matthews and Katy Hart are married and living in Bloomington, Indiana, where Dayne has found a solution to his on-camera love scenes - he wants Katy to star in his next film. Katy wins the part and is cast opposite her super-star husband. The story of a small town girl's dream come true is too much for the press to resist, and in an effort to appease them, the couple agrees to a 12-episode reality show. It seems like the perfect compromise, but by the time they finish filming the movie, they feel cracks around the edges of their marriage. Now they face an uncertain future, and possibly the end of everything that truly matters to them.

AN UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER
The Baxter family learns that Ashley and Kari are both pregnant, but an ultrasound reveals that something is wrong with one of the babies. As the summer progresses, the sisters pray for a miracle while trying to face the unthinkable. It's in this trying season that they must all learn the lesson God has been trying to teach them - He is still in control, and He will be with them regardless of the outcome.

AN EMOTIONAL FAREWELL
The Flanigans continue to draw closer to their only daughter, yet Bailey struggles to find her way amidst the turmoil of adolescence. She has always made good decisions, but she wants to experience more of life. Her friendship with Cody Coleman - the young border staying with the Flanigans - continues to blossom in this summer after his graduation. But when Cody decides to enlist in the Army, he'll have to say goodbye to the family he's come to love and the girl he'll never forget.

Title: Life is Given by God and Taken by God
Review: A well written story of why life is so important even in difficult circumstances. God doesn't always answer our prayers as we would like Him to. His ways are always best even when it is difficult. He has a much better plan.

Title: The Gentle Whisper
Review: Kingsbury 's gift is in showing us as readers how to depend on God in all circumstances. The concept of the "gentle whisper" from Elijah's encounter with God is staying with me as it will with you as you walk another pathway with the Baxter family.

Title: Captivating and so heart warming!!
Review: From Karen's series The Baxter, First Born, and Baxter 3, are stories so captivating that I couldn't hardly put the books down. Through all the series, the stories are based on lives of people that I can relate to. People that are at most times, strong in their faith with God, and also are struggling to understand why things are not working out in their lives as they believe they should. Ashleigh and Landon struggle with such a heartbreak that makes them question God as to why their daughter that is being formed in Ashleigh's womb is not developing as a healthy baby. The diagnosis is heart wrenching, and not only makes Ashleigh and Landon's faith question God, but the whole Baxter family. Through Summer, Karen brings forth a beautiful story that portrays the unfailing love of God and His faithfulness to His children through the most difficult times and struggles. God is the giver of life, and through the Baxter family crisis, we are reminded that "All things work out for good for those who love God." The gift of life is precious in the sight of God even if the life on this earth is for a few hours, it's still a precious gift and a gift that can change your life and the lives of those close to You. Thank You Karen! Through your books and inspirational stories, with Gods Word as your foundation, my faith in God and His faithfulness is building my faith.

Title: Heart Wrenching
Review: This is one of the Baxter series.....of course it was good. It had a sad overtone thoughout though, so it, at times, left me feeling weepy. Of course it could be that this is the twelfth book in the series and the characters feel like family. I was surprised how quickly Dayne and Katy's marriage deteriorated. It went from nothing to disaster in two seconds. Ashley is one of my favorites- her having to go through the death of her baby just made her an even stronger character. I like that John is finally facing his feelings for Elaine, and that Ashley has accepted Elaine as more than her father's friend. Sarah's death has mended so many broken relationships. It will interesting to see if anything comes from Sarah's heart valves being donated. Good read- onto the next one.

Review: Another novel in the family life of the Baxter family. Many of these characters could be you or I. The family ripped apart, the family in hardship, the arguments amongst siblings, its all there. All brought to life.
