Title: Great first sushi making kit
Review: We've never made sushi before. We've always bought it from the grocery store. This is a fun way to make it at home. It included everything we needed. It's easy to clean and easy to use. It's nice to be able to try out different ingredients than our grocery store offers!

Title: Fun and versatile kit, needs lots of practice to turn out good looking rolls
Review: My whole family loves sushi and while it's fun to go out to eat it, it's also fun to make it at home. For years we have been using the traditional rolling mat to make sushi rolls. That method is relatively easy, but only turns out small rolls. I've been looking for a long time for ways to make larger rolls and discovered this kit.The kit comes with many parts to make large rolls, large heart shaped rolls, large triangular rolls and smaller square rolls. There are no instructions included but there is a QR code on the box which links to a video to give you some idea of how to use it. The Amazon listing also has some pictures which actually provide the best instructions for this kit.Basically, you put in the nori (seaweed), add rice about 1/2 way, add your filling, put in more rice, fold over the nori, use a cover to press down on the top of the roll, then slice it and serve. In practice, this is harder than it looks but if you are patient, I'm sure this will turn out professional looking rolls... eventually. The good news about this is you get to eat your mistakes, so while you have fun learning, it's not a waste when things turn out poorly.I've include photos of my first attempts and here are some things to note:- don't overfill the mold. It's easy to do, but when it comes to pressing to seal, too much filling will lead to a roll that falls apart.- Press down HARD when trying to seal the roll. If you don't compact the rice and fillings enough, the roll will fall apart.- Use a wet and very sharp knife to cut. The mold has convenient slots to cut the finished roll but if your knife is not a bit wet and not sharp, the roll will start to come apart even before you remove it from the mold.- Removing from the mold is tricky, maybe once I get the rolls really compact they will come out better but there are no specific instructions for removing your roll and as you can see, even though I tried to be careful, one of the rolls just basically fell apart.Overall though, this is a very fun kit that can be used by the whole family making dinner an event for the entire evening. I am confident that with more practice, this will turn out good looking rolls, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying eating my mistakes.I gave this only 4 stars however because I feel that there should be better instructions provided given that there is an art to using this kit to create sushi. In addition to what I mentioned, it's not 100% clear what all the parts are for and so a lot of experimentation is required.Still if you like sushi and are looking for a fun evening for your partner and/or family, this kit is sure to be a worthwhile purchase.

Title: At least the kids had fun
Review: The kids had a great time making a mess. Rice and tuna everywhere!! Itâs a very complete set. Has everything we need to make rolls. Got all our ingredients ready, read instructions and started. Itâs one of those things that takes practice. But everyone had fun. The rolls didnât seem tight enough to hold everything together. Easy to clean. Itâs been a fun thing to do with family. Will continue to use.

Title: Fun for making sushi with my kid!
Review: This starter sushi kit offers a quick and easy mold to shape your sushi in. It's also a great beginner set for kids. My son suddenly took a like to California rolls. He's asked me to make it a few times to bring to school with him. So I got this sushi making set that comes with molds to make kid-friendly sushi. I would say the molds are large enough so that a beginner can easily get all the ingredients in there. For my son, it's easier to pick up larger pieces of sushi to eat than the tiny ones. This mold comes with trays that you layer the nori paper, rice, and filling of your choice. For us it's cucumbers and poached salmon. Then, after you assembly everything on the bottom of the tray, you take the the top half of the tray and form the mold. The shapes you can do are very cute! We LOVE LOVE LOVE the heart mold! It's the best one! There are slits across the mold frame so my son and I can easily slice through the finished sushi log for perfect slices that don't fall apart.Great kit with all these extras. You get a lot for your money. Highly recommend!

Title: Good for a beginner.
Review: It works okay, and it's fine if you have the storage room for it. I think I will stick with the traditional way.

Title: Cute addition for my kitchen
Review: The KITCHTIC Beginner Sushi Making Kit is a popular choice for those new to sushi-making. This 10-piece kit, made from durable PP plastic, includes reusable tools that are easy to clean and dishwasher-safe, making it convenient for repeated use. It offers molds for creating various sushi shapes, which is great for making standard maki rolls at home. Users appreciate its simple and user-friendly design, allowing beginners to feel comfortable creating sushi without needing advanced skills. While the plastic material is food-grade and durable, some reviewers note that the kit does not offer as much flexibility in terms of customization. For example, the molds may restrict the size or shape of the sushi rolls you can make. However, the overall ease of use and the included tools make this kit an accessible entry point for those wanting to try making sushi at home without investing in more complex or traditional kits.In summary, the KITCHTIC kit is ideal for beginners looking for a fun and straightforward way to make sushi, with the added benefit of being easy to clean. However, for those looking for more professional or customizable sushi-making experiences, other kits might offer more variety in terms of roll shapes and sizesâ.
