Title: Day one...
Review: Took that out of the box filled a little freeze bottles up put them in the freezer put 5 gallons of distilled water in it put a bunch of ice in it I'd say it's 20 to 25° cooler coming out than it is in the room. Swamp coolers work you just have to live in a non humid area to get benefit from them.

Title: Defective on arrival, returning.... starting over.
Review: Machine looks good and as described. Instructions are in clear english- but skimpy and incomplete.Unit has a pump which is supposed to keep an upper tray slowly overflowing into the evaporative media. When "cool" function is turned on- pump runs for 2-3 seconds and shuts down. Suspect an out-of water detection switch is stuck or defective. Not easily accessible or covered in instructions or troubleshooting... and as a brand new machine, if the quality control was decent, it would have caught this.The result is a few hours unpacking and setting up, filling, trying to double check everything- then having to drain, and repack to return... and start the product search over. Time is valuable, and that part won't get refunded.Something to know about reviews on swamp coolers- is that many people expect them to do things they aren't designed to do, and give them one star. Unfortunately, the sellers also imply they will do things they won't do, creating that misconception.Swamp coolers need fresh air exchange, so they work well outdoors, or if there is open circulation to the outdoors. In a closed room like a bedroom- no. They quickly load the air with humidity and recirculate it in a closed area, and since they depend on evaporation to cool- that stops and they can't cool They work well in dry climates with low humidity, poorly in climates with high humidity.My purpose was cooling workspace in a garage or shop with the door open.However, this one had a mechanical defect, so my one-star speaks only to that.

Title: The cooling down of our living room
Review: We used this to try and lower the room temp while waiting for new HVAC system to be installed.We had record heat wave and it would bring the temp down to 86° which was an improvement over the 100+ indoor temp.The constant changing out of the ice packs and filling the reservoir was quite time consuming. I had to do this about every 3 hours. I bought several ice packs so I could change out in a timely manner.

Title: Blows cool air/not an air condition/smells like burning rubber
Review: This air cooler does what it is meant for. However, my concern is that when turned on, it brings a rubber burning smell which triggers my smoke/fire detector alarm. I don’t know if it has something to do with the fact that is it brand new and yet to adjust which is typical of electric products. There is no problem with the insulation in my house. Also, even when the ice parks are added, it just blows cool air but does not really cool up the room. Technically, it works like a fan not as an air condition as the advertisement seems to suggest. Thank you!

Title: Awesome way to cool!
Review: I live in the high rocky mountains and its so dry and so hot in the summer. (80s, but the sun heats my house to boiling!) This thing killed it the first time I tried it! I'm going to need one in my bedroom too. Love it! Hoping it lasts a long time, but I don't know why it wouldn't.

Title: Not good for enclosed rooms
Review: I am giving 3 stars because its great for well circulated places like garages and such, but not so great for enclosed places.. If you must use it for enclosed places, like i did, be sure that it is well ventilated or else you might be breathing in hot & sticky air... This should have never been labeled for indoor use... VERY MISLEADING!.. I will be returning it!.
