Title: A little goes a long way
Review: I bought this a few years ago, but Amazon just popped it up for a review as I was reviewing another purchase... I still have a ton of it.It works well in certain things, but not others. E.g., it works well to sweeten corn bread, but adds a strong bitter taste to a berry smoothie. I pretty much only use it for baking now, after ruining a smoothie, and it has worked well there. It does impart a fake sugar taste if too much is used. And, it seems to work best when combined with real sugar, just reducing the sugar used, not replacing it completely.

Title: Try it as a culinary herb!
Review: I first learned about stevia when my local organic grower offered it in his line of herb seedlings. I bought one plant to try in my herb garden and when it got big enough to start harvesting from, I started trying it in different dishes. I loved it. Summer is over, the frosts have come, and the plant is long used up but I got so addicted to it that I went looking for dried stevia to get me through the winter. This 1-lb bag of powdered stevia from Frontier was the best I could find. It's works well as a substitute for the fresh leaves -- as long as you use it sparingly.I use fresh or dried stevia wherever I use basil, such as pasta and couscous dishes with vegetables or mushrooms -- use both basil and stevia. Stevia complements lemon juice very well when that's one of the ingredients. For a quick sauce, I mix the dried stevia with a bit of olive oil and drizzle it on pasta or cheese ravioli. Yum! I mix the dried stevia with a bit of water in the bottom of a casserole dish, add peeled and chopped sweet potatoes, stir, and bake (spoon the juice over the potatoes a few times while they're baking). I even use the dried stevia in oatmeal (*real* oatmeal, which is rolled or steel cut oats, soaked in water, and cooked, not that awful powdery stuff that comes in a packet, contains xanthin gum, and has the consistency of glue once cooked).Just remember that a little stevia goes a long way. It has a very intense flavor. Start with a 1/4 teaspoon and work your way up to the taste you like.I would NOT recommend this as a "sugar substitute" for baking. It's not going to dissolve and blend like granulated sugar.

Title: Should Not be Alternative for Easy Use Organic Stevia Powder
Review: The Easy Use Organic Stevia Powder I generally order is no longer available, and Frontier's bulk certified organic stevia powder is listed as an alternative. I'm sure it will be fine for baking (I haven't found out yet because I was going to do return it and can't). But it does not work for coffee or tea. It tastes chalky and even impacted my throat to the extent that I started coughing. I generally don't complain like this, but it feels like this was one of those forced alternatives that happen with Amazon here and there, and it is not an equivalent to Easy Use. Even worse that I can't return it.

Title: AMAZING HEALTH BENEFITS!!
Review: Bitter and sweet flavor. Absolutely love the flavor!! Pairs up wonderfully with my teas(organic Yerba matte and jasmine green)and organic matcha and other flavors! Looking forward to discovering other flavor combos! Note I am a bit of an unusual person as I love the taste of bitter. Aside from the flavor which can somewhat resemble licorice(but it truly has a flavor all its own) the HEALTH BENEFITS are what I value most. I am an exceptionally healthy 36yr old person VERY methodical and health conscious, going back and forth between a vegan/vegetarian diet. Before sampling this product... I have already more energy now at this stage of my life than in my prime years(20's-30), but the very day I tried this product I noticed clear increased sustained energy even beyond what I have already been experiencing. I have noticed that same energy increase was not a one-time energy surge but have been experiencing that same constant energy boost each day as I daily use this product. Thru strict dedication over the course of many many years my mind and body have become VERY receptive and perceptive to what I feed it and I've learned the skill of really listening and discerning what my body is telling me.. This green stevia largely has it's natural restorative properties intact(minerals, phytonutrients etc) vs other denatured Stevia products.. really most white Stevia products are incomplete unnatural by-products. The green color of this product signifies it's natural designed-with-love nutrient profile is intact. As far as natural sweeteners go if you want what's best for your body consider this product, and even if you don't like the taste tell your tastebuds to shush-up and take it anyways. You will be doing your body a favor. Thanks for reading and may you prosper! Good health to you! =)
