Review: I got a kick out of watching these old shows, they did a lot of editing it seems. The film didn't clean up too well in some cases when they made it digital. Over all it was fun to watch.

Title: It's a really great Shew!
Review: Warning. If you're over 40, watching this DVD will cause waves of nostaliga to wash over you. With Carol Burnett hosting, the DVD is a montage of entertainment legends from the past half century. Unlike today where getting on Television is as easy as being willing to bare your soul and or make a complete fool out of yourself, getting on Ed Sullivan required actual talent. I can't wait for Volume 2.

Review: Love it, Real nice to watch the good oldies again. Very entertaining, I recommend this if you feel like being nostalgic, brings back good old memories!I like showing it to the kids, so they may gain an appreciation for the finer, pure talent of the great older music!

Review: I was very pleased with this DVD--especially for the reasonable price. One warning: It is made up of snippets of noteworthy Ed Sullivan Show performers--not entire performances. There are also quite a few interviews with numerous stars who appeared on the famous variety show. (A lot of them are no longer with us, so their appearances are all the more important.) Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Review: 　1991年にアメリカでブエナ・ビスタから発売されてベストセラーになったビデオのＤＶＤ化。日本でもＮＨＫでこのベストの内容も含めて、ショウの選りすぐりが放映されたが、何故かわが国ではこのベスト自体のビデオ化はされなかった。　ロック、ポピュラー、ジャズ、コメディ何でもござれのベスト・オブ・ベストである。ただいくら巧みな編集でも、見る側が多少せせこましく感じてしまうのは否めない。これ自体はショウそのものや編集者の責任ではなくて、２５年近く続いた名番組のエッセンスを２時間かそこらに凝縮するのが土台ムリなのであって、やむを得ないところだろう。ジョニー・カーソン・ショウのように３枚組のＤＶＤ(ビデオは４枚組)くらいに分ければ、おのずと番組の放映時に近い感じを少しは再現できるのだが。　その分、このショウはロックやブロードウェイ、オペラ、クリスマスと別売で次々リリースされて来ているので、今後はポピュラーとジャズのものも是非出して欲しい。　本ＤＶＤはエド・サリバン・ショウのエッセンスを万人向けに知らしめるという点では、大変貢献したビジュアル映像である。このシリーズは全てオール・リージョンなので、日本のＤＶＤプレーヤーで見れることも忘れずに明記しておこう。私個人としては本ＤＶＤのハイライトは、エラ・フィッツジェラルドとサミー・ディビスjr.のデュオ、ジュディ・ガーランドの'I could go on singing`,バーバラ・ストレイザンドの'When the sun comes out`である。
