****Newly edited & updated 2021!!!**** DRE never returned to Emerald Creek after the man she thought she would marry broke her heart. But a late night phone call from halfway around the world brought her right back to her hometown. And face to face with the man she never thought she would have to see again. Summer in Emerald Creek was everything she remembered—endless festivals, picnics in the park and time with her best friend and her favorite little tykes—and Dre is finding it hard to resist the pull of the chemistry she and Erick still have. ERICK made the biggest mistake of his life all those years ago but the result, his adorable little girl, was the best thing that ever happened to him. He’d done the right thing, or at least he tried to but his marriage hadn’t worked despite all that it cost him. But now, Dre was back in Emerald Creek and the universe had given him a second chance this summer, to put back together what he broke. To reclaim the only woman he's ever truly loved. Can one summer recall a lifetime of memories and rekindle a love that never really went away?

Title: a cheating romanceâ¦
Review: Wow⦠this story is an emotional journey. It takes romance and puts it on a roller coaster. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS HEROINE. She can be kind but most of all she is direct and doesnât take poo from anyone. As you read this book, you see it is for good reason. Both as a child and an adult she experienced heartbreak and betrayal from a parent and partner. Our hero has to work, for not only our heroineâs forgiveness, but truthfully, the reader as well. I think this author does a good job showing his humanness. This story is unique because I felt it depends on a readerâs triggers to see if you can forgive him.I love this story because it looks at it but doesnât abuse the concept of forgiveness. Moving past something looks different for everyone and I think this story shows a realism that will haunt me.Happy Reading Everyone.

Title: Between a 3 and 4
Review: The author has a good way with words, and allowed the reader to âseeâ the town. The female lead character though- why didnât she ask the male WHY he had to get married. I didnât really see any true resolution to the problem the he started in the first place. I wished I could find her strong, but she didnât ask the right questions.

Title: Itâs good....
Review: I like the idea but I have beefs:- I really wanted to like Dre. She was wronged by the most important men in her life but she is so bitter all the time, itâs overkill. Itâs been y e a r s!- those men never genuinely apologized, begged forgiveness or explained their actions. Losers.- Dreâs Dadâs cheating was a big trigger but we are given just a few sentences when it clearly was a huge deal. When did she learn she had a half sister? Hold old was the girl when her mom died?- why did Erick marry the ons? People share custody /s marriage all the time.I really wanted to love it but it missed a few key elements for me.

Title: Best Of My Love
Review: Best Of My Love: (Love in Emerald Creek)By: N.D. Jackson5 out of 5 starsThe story Best Of My Love: (Love in Emerald Creek) by N.D. Jackson is a contemporary romance book. This is a wonderful book that I enjoyed reading. It tells the story of Dre and Erick. The first time they fell in love it ended with hurt feelings and broken hearts. Is it possible for these two to find a happy ending a second time around? This is the first book that I have read by the author. She has created a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didnât want to put down until I had read the ending page. The characters that she has created are unforgettable. That is especially the case with the character of Dre. She is a smart, successful woman who always says what she means. Sometimes I would ask myself âShe didnât just say that, did she?â I liked her direct approach to conversation and found myself smiling when she interacted with the other characters. Dre is also a woman that is guarding her heart. She was hurt once and doesnât want it to happen again. She and Erick soon find that the chemistry between them is still there. Can Erick convince her that she should give him another chance? Erick is a character that I really felt for. He knows that what happened is his fault and apologizes many times to Dre. From the first time that he sees her back in town, Erick is determined that he will win her back. These two have a lot to overcome in order to get a second chance at love. This book had my emotions going up and down. The author did a wonderful job in making me feel what the characters were going through. This story does have adult situations and steamy love scenes. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

Title: Unfortunately disappointing
Review: Good premise. Great setting concept. Characters that endeavored to be endearing. But. Several needed a lot of redemption and they didn't do it. The author took a heroine who was living life large and on her terms, by all accounts happily and successfully, and broke her down and boxed her up. That was disappointing. All for a very clueless hero who messed up so frequently in really bad ways that, while he wanted to be a nice guy, was instead, well, pretty toxic. He kept trying to define and redefine the heroine. By the last good up, I cheered when the h left the H in the dust. Then she INEXPLICABLY came to give him another chance and that fool still didn't have his head on straight. Sister, actions speak louder than words. I've never cheered so hard against a second chance. I'm a sop for second chance HEA! Always, and yet? I give their HEA 2 years tops. H was still being clueless in the epilogue. I felt like h just got worn down. She should have listened to herself when she compared her dysfunctional relationship to her friend's abusive one. I hope within two years she's back jetting the world living her best life. I think the writer kept forcing the characters and story in the wrong direction. Editing could help. The author has potential and the story could have been good.

Title: Second chance romance
Review: I really liked Dre. And didn't like Erick. I don't think he did enough to prove that he'll put Dre first other than those words he spewed near the end. I wish we got to see him actually put her first other than Dre narrating that he did in the past year they've been together. Also, I'm glad that Dre didn't just forgive and forget the thing about her dad and stepmom because it wouldn't have been believable if she did. All in all, I liked reading this story mainly just for Dre.

Review: Loved Dre no nonsense and her spunky personality thatâs why I was a bit disappointed by the ending and the chase between her and Erick. A lot more groveling should have been done and the story with her dad a bit more developed. She was feisty and firm at the beginning and by the end she is all gooey. Thatâs when the author lost me and I only gave 3 âï¸.I wish she would have kept her spice till the end. Nevertheless still a good book

Review: 5 StarsBest of My love: Love in Emerald Creek is a second chance at love romance by N.D. Jackson. I am familiar with this author through her Mustang Prairie series, which I really enjoyed- so I was looking forward to seeing what would happen in this story.Dre (Andrea) Larson thought she had her life mapped out, her future a certainty. But one devastating phone call destroyed all her hopes and dreams. She hasnât returned to Emerald Creek since, too many memories there to haunt her. Ten years later and she still carries around the burden of her betrayal, like a thorn in her side. Another phone call has her rushing back to her home town. Being back also means facing the reason for all her heartache. All the feelings that sheâd shut off and bottled up, now threaten to bubble to the surface.Erick Hawthorne has spent the past ten years living with regret. He is only too aware of the fact that he made a colossal mistake, that forced Dre out of his life, but not out of his heart. He has never stopped loving her and now that sheâs back in town he is determined to try to win a second chance with her. All he has to do is convince Dre that he can be trusted with her heart again.I really did love this story, even when I was completely frustrated at Dreâs snarky, sarcastic and caustic demeanour- or annoyed at Erick for being responsible for Dreâs pain. I loved how complex these two were and how passionate and explosive their chemistry was. I also loved the rapport and connection that Dre had with Zoe, Eli and Orchid. Their funny banter often had me smiling.I did notice a few issues with this story that arenât apparent in the other books of Ms. Jacksonâs that I have read. These issues had me debating what rating to award the book. Ultimately, I based my rating on how much I enjoyed the book regardless of the âissuesâ and how the story made me feel. I think the editing could have done with some fine-tuning and really let the story down to a degree. Simple things such as punctuation was missed and sentences with âwrongâ wording occurred quite regularly. As an example; ââ¦Dre answer* shortly because letâs face itâ¦â *(answered); or- âTo make her so crazy would* pleasure that she would forgetâ¦â *(With); or- âYou donât want to pay for a logo you* the* and be stuck with it foreverâ¦â *(not needed/ doesnât make sense); or- â¦âlooking beautiful in the dress sheâd word* just for himâ¦â *(worn). These issues tended to pull me out of the story and distracted from the storyline. The story was wonderful, surprising and full of feeling. I came away from reading the story with a real sense of satisfaction, and I am already thinking about what Ms. Jackson has up her sleeve for us next.Thank-you, Ms. Jackson!

Review: LOVED Dre. In a trope where authors tend to give us weak women who canât stand their ground and fall into bed with the man who destroyed them, Dreâs zero tolerance of BS, her unapologetic attitude and straight talking was exactly the heroine I want in this trope. Erik however, horrible little man. Dre should have ended up with someone better, and Iâm sad she didnât.Her father was also awful. He lied and cheated and let Dre down when she needed him the most. Hiding a huge secret and believing she was too stupid to know the truth. His wife is also vile. I knocked off stars because that situation is not resolved or even discussed and explored.Ultimately, despite being let down by the 2 men who should have been lifting her up, Dre still comes away with confidence and conviction. Just a shame she didnât get a better man to love her than the disappointments that are her father and Erik

Review: So the few things I loved about this book? Dre Orchid Sarah Kira Zoe and Elijah. Those characters were amazing. Also Dre didnât wait around moping after her lost love. Dre was such a strong independent woman making a name for herself and living life her own way! The relationship she had with all the children was really special and Sarah had her back! However I was annoyed and angry at Eric. Not so much about the cheating, but the way he confessed his infidelity to her!I felt Eric was a weak character and not really redeemable. He was a needy whiny entitled hypocrite of a man that did not deserve Dre. Towards the end what ruined this book for me was how the author basically flipped and made Dre the one at fault? What? She takes off bcos yet again Eric is a horrible man and sheâs the one in the wrong for taking time out? Mental! Then he has the nerve to tell her to make up with her father after what he done to her mother? I hated both Al Annie and Eric! Not enough grovel from any of them and none of them deserved her forgiveness!
