Avocado Toast with Fried Eggs (ingredients, equipment, instructions)
Serves 2; Prep Time: 10 minutes; Cook Time: 15 minutes
Instructions:
1. In small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon oil, lemon juice, pinch salt, and pinch pepper.
2. Use butter knife to cut avocado in half. Separate halves, then remove and discard pit. Scoop avocado into bowl with lemon dressing; discard skin. Use fork to break avocado into large pieces, then mash into dressing until mostly smooth.
3. Place bread in toaster and toast until golden on both sides, 1 to 2 minutes. Spread avocado mixture evenly on toasts.
4. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, heat remaining 2 teaspoons oil over low heat for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, crack eggs into second small bowl and add pinch salt and pinch pepper.
5. Increase heat to medium-high and heat oil for 1 minute (oil should be hot but not smoking). Working quickly, pour eggs into skillet, cover skillet, and cook for 1 minute.
6. Turn off heat and slide skillet to cool burner. Let sit, covered, for about 1 minute for slightly runny yolks or about 2 minutes for set yolks.
7. Use spatula to transfer 1 fried egg to each toast. Serve.

Title: Very informative
Review: Shoes and tells the how and why, not just the what.So many recipe books just give the recipie and some tips. This book gives recipies with pictures and tips as well as informative overviews of basic skills like cutting an onion, what the difference between a chip, dice, mince, shred, grate, and zest is, etc. I really appriciate that it explains the fundamentals of cooking.The recipies also list what cooking utensils will be needed for the recipie and I think thatâs really vital because someone not experienced in the kitchen wonât automatically know what kind of pan is for roasting or what a food processor is or even have one.

Review: Bought this book for my 11 year old daughter who loves to cook. It is chalked full with recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and the photos that accompany the recipes encourage a youngster to maybe try something they normally wouldn't. Recipes offer multiple variations to try. Love the amount of healthy recipes in this book. Teaches about measurements, knife cutting skills, spices and so on. Would be a great gift also for an adult who has never really cooked. My daughter has made several of the meals. Her favorite.....the avocado toast with egg. Also loves the smoothie recipes. Wonderful book to introduce someone to cooking more!

Title: Perfect Gift for School Age Children
Review: Purchased for my almost 9 year old granddaughter. She is choosing one recipe a week to cook. Some of the recipes she can do on her own and others require a little assistance from an adult. She is learning a lot about cooking, gaining skills in the kitchen, enjoying making choices about what to cook and trying some new foods that she otherwise might avoid. I Previously bought "The Complete Baking Cookbook For Young Bakers" & stated how excited my little baker was to recieve it, but because I'm a chef at a restaurant, she has been fantasizing of becoming a chef, watching cooking shows & making her own lunch & dinner. So I bought this Cookbook to help get that spark lit for her dream of becoming a chef, she was so excited ð !!! Since Christmas 2020 she has done 20 of over 100 recipes!!! It makes me so proud!!
