Title: As one who has struggled in this area, I found it reassuring
Review: John Herrick has an easy-to-read style. Although you know he is addressing the deep hurts people feel and some of his readers may be contemplating suicide, he maintains a respectful and matter-of-fact tone rather than pleading. He offers eight truths from the Bible but his text is far from preachy. He develops each idea with personal experiences and concludes with a person in the Bible who felt that way and he demonstrates what God was doing in that situation that can only be seen in hindsight. This is a well-written eBook for people struggling with depression, self-worth, and even suicidal thoughts. It emphasizes a long-term perspective and gives reasons to tough-it-out rather than give up on life. As the author says, “Every dark season in life comes to an end. If you hang in there long enough, you’ll reach the dawn.”As one who has struggled in this area, I found it reassuring and I might have to make myself a reminder sheet listing the eight reasons. For me, the best (most relevant) reason to keep persevering is: “Somebody out there needs to see you overcome.”8 Reasons Your Life Matters is worth a read, especially if you want some encouraging thoughts to lift you out of despair or to arm yourself with points to be able to help others. This review first appeared on my blog, ChristyBower.com.

Review: Very good book - John Herrick does use this book as a forum to sort through his personal demons and at times it comes across as "look at what all I have accomplished - you can do it too."I enjoyed the book, but I hate that he did not mention mental illness or encourage those contemplating suicide to seek professional help. Sometimes just having a more positive outlook will not cure a true mental illness.****If you feel you are depressed and have thoughts of suicide I beg you to reach out to someone so that you can receive professional advice which might serve to supplement the teachings in this book.Overall this is a very good book and you will feel a connection to God as well as to the author. I am going to recommend this book to my Bible study group at my church!

Title: Absolutely FANTASTIC and Extremely Moving Book that provides Heartfelt ENCOURAGEMENT.
Review: The Introduction grabbed me right from the start and is quite moving. "If readers receive one message from my novels, I want them to know their lives matter" is the very first line. THAT says a LOT. Further, the author hopes readers "might receive encouragement through my written words" ... and I certainly did.The chapters that follow wonderfully detail each of the reasons offered in the Title. The author relates many personal experiences, various stories, and solid references. Using the NAS (New American Standard) version of the Bible was a wise choice as it is a superb translation. This book is extremely well written and thoughtfully formatted with an active Table of Contents. It is also X-RAY Enabled, which is a valuable Kindle feature that I ALWAYS look for and greatly appreciate. Excellent grammar and punctuation make reading seamless and enjoyable. The author's SINCERITY is genuinely refreshing. I found the following quote: "You are loved. You are valued. Your life matters." particularly endearing. This is a FANTASTIC book from start to finish! As such, I wholeheartedly highly recommend 8 REASONS YOUR LIFE MATTERS with a 5 Star Rating. Enjoy!

Title: Potentially triggering
Review: The content of the book is heartfelt and aims to convey a message of hope and encouragement. The author shares personal experiences and reflections on faith, compassion, and the significance of one's life. But I feel the narrative lacks cohesion and clear transitions between topics, making it challenging for me to stay focused. For instance, the abrupt shift from discussing personal struggles to detailing a sunrise experience feels disjointed. The book would benefit from more organized and focused storytelling, ensuring each paragraph builds on the previous one and contributes to the overall message. Moreover, I think a warning is appropriate as the book addresses sensitive topics such as personal struggles, faith, and the value of life. While the intention is to offer encouragement and support, I find some sections potentially triggering for individuals experiencing severe mental health challenges. For example, phrases like ending your life should be approached with caution and sensitivity. I would provide context and resources for readers who may be in crisis. Additionally, the book should include disclaimers or recommendations for seeking professional help when discussing such critical issues.

Title: ABSOLUTE MUST READ AND LIFELONG TREASURE!
Review: This is an absolute read for any person who either has as of yet to come into knowing God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.....or has been just questioning the reason for being alive, existing. It is most definitely a must read, personally speaking, for "ALL" Christians of all ages and regardless of how long their relationship with the Lord Jesus has been. There is so many rich tidbits of God's Wisdom, outstanding, simplified and easily understood. Recently, marked 31 years in my personal relationship with the Lord in my heart, and my life, an ever going and ever learning fascinating journey, and yes, with many challenging times. He never ceases to amaze me, especially in how He uses so many unique sources, such as this author's beautiful inspiration. READ IT...OVER AND OVER....IT IS SO RICH AND REWARDING.....AND SHARE IT WITH ANYONE.....YOU'LL BE SUCH A PAY-IT-FORWARD BLESSING!!! Thank you John Herrick!!!

Review: This is a well crafted sincere free kindle book given with the motivation to help others. I hold no religious views but the Christian references seemed to me like part of the story and not a plot to convert me despite the fact the being part autobiographical you get to like trust and respect the author. The author writes supportively towards people whose life may not be going too well. This book offers the perspective of time. At any age it is possible to be broken hearted,or to fail or mess up. Time shows you that love and success hide in sneaky places that need faith, persistence and experience to reveal. A job well done Mr Herrick for which I am confident you already have your reward.
