Title: Attractions only
Review: The overwhelming emphasis here is on attractions, not on listings of restaurants, hotels, shopping, etc... In fact, listings are only mentioned if they have a direct relationship to one of the attractions. The attractions themselves are pretty well chosen, but there is a vast amount of material here distilled down into a manageable guide. You have to expect it to be a summary of on-the-beaten-track destinations, and that's exactly what it is. There are errors, for example, Seattle is not Washington's "forward-looking capital city." Minor quibbles aside, it's a pretty good introduction to all things USA, and would serve as an excellent guide for someone visiting from abroad. There's also a palpable assumption that you're going to be traveling by car, as many roadside attraction are mentioned, along with the generally excellent "Best Road Trip" and "Scenic Drive" sections.Probably the thing I like the most about the book is that it's committed to attractions in ALL 50 states, which means that the lovely things in some of the states we might not otherwise think as tourist destinations get featured here. Ever wonder why North Dakota may be worth your time? You'll find out here.As for some other reviewers agitation with things being too "woke" or overly politically correct, I have not found that to be the case. Attractions included in the guide are worthy based on their own interest, and are not artificially promoted by the writers. Something that DOES irritate me about this book, and about Moon travel books more generally, is the constant exaggeration by the writers, i.e. "largest" or "greatest" or "oldest" this and that - a device used by the writers to make things sound more interesting than they really are. Take these superlative statements with a grain of salt. It's a good book. It is a summary, and it does lack listings of any kind, but if you understand this before you buy, you'll be satisfied with this book.

Title: Invaluable tool for discovering interesting things to do
Review: As someone who appreciates the path less travelled, I found this book extremely helpful for discovering sites to visit while trying to get from Point A to Point B. There's something for everyone, which means there are plentiful suggestions. If one item doesn't float your boat, perhaps the next one will.Personally, I found this much more useful than researching only online. After mapping out a route based on the book's recommendations, further online research fine tunes the itinerary.

Review: This book covers all states in the USA and gives you really good reviews of certain places to visit in each state, the population, foods of not, maps, and souvenir items from each state too. There are lots of great pictures and certain places that are recommended to visit are also shown on the individual map for each state. We are currently planning our road trip and this books is proving invaluable to us.
