From the internationally bestselling author of Into Temptation comes "the perfect beach read" (Parade) about how everything can change in the blink of an eye....

On an ordinary London afternoon, a truck swerves across five lanes of traffic and creates a tangle of chaos and confusion. As loved ones wait to hear news and the hospital prepares to receive the injured, a dozen lives hang in the balance. A doctor is torn between helping the injured and hiding his young mistress; a bridegroom hopes to get to the church on time; a widow waiting to reunite with a lost love ponders whether she’ll ever see him again; and the mysterious hitchhiker, the only person who knows what really happened, is nowhere to be found.

Filled with suspense, romance, and more twists than a country highway, The Best of Times proves once again why Penny Vincenzi is the queen of happy endings.

Title: Fab as usual!
Review: Another twisting and turning story following numerous characters and plot lines thrown together out of one central incident. Fascinating to watch as the characters lives start to cross over after the accident. A great portrayal of how one incident can change everything. And of course has the pre-requisite happy ending. My only complaint is that after such a large book the ending felt rushed. Or is that because I didn't want it to end?

Review: Some scenarios from 'An Absolute Scandal' were repeated in this novel, for example, the inquest. Methodical build-up to main story. Quite a good read, but not in the category of her earlier novels. Riveting account of the accident.

Title: Wonderful enjoyable novel.
Review: Personal enjoyment. One of those books you have to keep reading. Loved the characters they seemed very real. Each one had good and not so good wants and desires. But like all good novels the ending was most satisfactory. Thank you.

Title: Some interesting characters
Review: The book was recommended and started off well, but it just didn't hold my attention as some books do. Because of that, my reading slowed down and I'd forget who was who, but that's how is goes with my reading.

Title: This book gives a perfect example of this
Review: Penny Vincenzi's books are addictive reads. She can plot a story with characters whose lives are interwoven. Sometimes its incredible how tragedy can correct certain flows in a person who is willing to change. This book gives a perfect example of this. Penny Vincenzi is one of the best writers of our times and I am addicted to her books, I order her books almost blindly without reading her reviews, she is one of my favourite authors. Well done Penny you are really gifted. Thanks for your good books.Maria Lourdes.

Title: Really Enjoyed
Review: To ask me to write a review about any Penny Vincenzi novel is a shoe in for a great review. I love how she writes, I love her characters and I just love reading her books. This one was no exception. I have yet to be disappointed with any of her books or storylines. The story of this book was like a tree with many branches, each representing another character and how their involvement in a terrible accident affected them and those around them by their actions before, during and after the crash. Read on...you will enjoy.

Title: compelling
Review: this story was well written. The author made me want to know what would happen with each character. There are so many characters that a few of them got confusing. Hard to remember who is whom. A page turner.

Review: Though not a smooth read I did enjoy it (not disappointed. In a Penny Vincenzi. For a fragmented story it was ‘a good read’.

Review: This has been a really good book. I just can't put it down - brilliant. So many stories going on at once and I can't wait to get back to each one, whenever it moves to the next one.

Review: Although I'm a Vincenzi addict, I did feel that her last book wasn't up to the usual standard, This one sees her right back on form and it's totally compulsive. Once again life came to a stop for a complete weekend as I greedily devoured the stories of a group of people whose lives become connected through their involvement in a particularly nasty car smash on the M4.The characters are believable and have real depth and the plots are innovative and credible. All in all, it's a really good read. When the paperback comes out, it will be the perfect holiday book - shame I won't have that pleasure as I just couldn't wait!

Review: I really loved this book, the storylines intertwined around a central event that changed and even ended the lives of some of the brilliantly painted characters. Unfortunately some of the personal stories were just too long and too repetitive and, towards the end, fairly predictable. Nonetheless a very good read.
