Told in alternating timelines, THE THINGS WE LEAVE UNFINISHED examines the risks we take for love, the scars too deep to heal, and the endings we can’t bring ourselves to see coming.

Twenty-eight-year-old Georgia Stanton has to start over after she gave up almost everything in a brutal divorce―the New York house, the friends, and her pride. Now back home at her late great-grandmother’s estate in Colorado, she finds herself face-to-face with Noah Harrison, the bestselling author of a million books where the cover is always people nearly kissing. He’s just as arrogant in person as in interviews, and she’ll be damned if the good-looking writer of love stories thinks he’s the one to finish her grandmother’s final novel…even if the publisher swears he’s the perfect fit.

Noah is at the pinnacle of his career. With book and movie deals galore, there isn’t much the “golden boy” of modern fiction hasn’t accomplished. But he can’t walk away from what might be the best book of the century―the one his idol, Scarlett Stanton, left unfinished. Coming up with a fitting ending for the legendary author is one thing, but dealing with her beautiful, stubborn, cynical great-granddaughter, Georgia, is quite another.

But as they read Scarlett’s words in both the manuscript and her box of letters, they start to realize why Scarlett never finished the book―it’s based on her real-life romance with a World War II pilot, and the ending isn’t a happy one. Georgia knows all too well that love never works out, and while the chemistry and connection between her and Noah is undeniable, she’s as determined as ever to learn from her great-grandmother’s mistakes―even if it means destroying Noah’s career.

Title: Oh my heart
Review: Another beautiful story by Rebecca Yarros. I love her writing. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. She is a literary master, spitting out so many masterpieces. This is a fast-paced emotional story filled with angst, suspense, love, spice, and tragedy. The characters are all so wonderful, I love them all. They come to life on the pages, and you can feel their pain and happiness. I greatly enjoyed the past and present romance stories equally. I really loved the historical story element. The ending is unpredictable and had me gasping and sobbing. It all tied up nicely. This book had me sobbing. I highly recommend this book for all you hopeless romantics out there."The epic, rare love story in this room isn't Scarlett and Jameson. It's you and me."'Romance isn't aboutunrealistic expectations and sex. It'sabout love and overcoming adversitythrough what can be considered auniversal experience.'""Without thepotential for disaster, would we everreally know what we have?"'I could spend days withyou under my tongue and still wantmore.""Perhapsthe kindest thing I could do for thecharacters would be to leave theirstories unfinished. Leave them withtheir possibilities, their potential, evenif they only exist in my own mind."

Title: What an emotional ride!!
Review: Wow. Just, wow.So I went into this blind. I knew there was a divorce from the first few words in the synopsis I accidentally read, but that was literally all I knew.I cannot remember the last time I cried so hard reading a book. It was such a beautiful, though heartbreaking, story. My review will in no way do this book justice, or adequately convey my feelings about it. I can’t seem to gather my thoughts cohesively, so this will be scattered. I have so much to say, but also don’t want to give any spoilers. These characters stole my heart. Both men are truly swoon-worthy. While Noah’s previous “bachelor” ways are briefly (and more vaguely) mentioned, both men are gentlemen. The women show strength and intelligence. But all have moments of vulnerability. This was my first Rebecca Yarros book, so maybe it’s how she typically writes, but, I loved the way the spicy scenes weren’t overtly explicit. They were still somehow very passionate. There was a point in the book that I wasn’t loving the flashbacks, or rather the placement of them. They happen at such inopportune times. Just when I’m catching my stride and getting into the story, we go back in time. And the same happens in the past timeline. I get into it, and we jump into present again. I understand the reason for it stylistically, but it was still frustrating. That said, I realized about halfway through the reason it felt this way is because I loved all the characters so much. It wasn’t like one of those multi-POV books where I didn’t like this person and couldn’t wait to get back to someone else. I just genuinely was so invested in them all, in all the stories, that it was hard to break away once immersed. The way the puzzle pieces come together kind of blew me away. In hindsight, it all made sense. Really, I enjoyed her writing style immensely.PASTAt one point, my notes say “Is this a historical Romance?! I think I could love it.”I love the romance of that era. Her modesty and morals. There’s just such a sweet innocence about it.While a wartime romance isn’t for the faint of heart, I enjoyed the sense of urgency it created. The unknown of tomorrow. The way it matures a person, living through that.I found myself wishing I understood more about the politics of the time (though admittedly that could very well be my own ignorance, and not that anything was missing from the book). And more of the particulars of what Scarlett and Constance were doing in the WAAF.PRESENTGeorgia and Noah’s banter was fun. The care he shows her throughout the book is next level. He sits her down and reverses roles. He makes her tea. He explains how he won’t let her fall if she climbs.

Title: slow going but the end was worth it
Review: This is a slow burn. I almost gave up half way through, but I stuck it because I love Rebecca Yarros’ other books that I have read. The ending made me cry. It was a wonderful book.

Title: What a twist! Fell in love with all the love!
Review: Damn! Rebecca Yarros has done it again! This might be my favorite book by her yet, and yes, that includes the Empyrean Series. This story deserves all the hype it gets!!! Just loved all the love! Kudos to the author for managing to not only write two timelines and two love stories together but also throw in a mind-blowing plot twist that I didn't see coming! Simply phenomenal!Scarlett and Jameson have my freaking heart. And I was rooting for Noah and Georgia too. Loved all the characters. They were strong but still human, still flawed and so they were relatable. This book evoked all kinds of emotions. I felt love, anger, grief, heartache, betrayal... you name it. The pacing was perfect despite the two parallel timeliness. Never felt dragged or too fast to follow either.I would recommend this book to all romance lovers. It literally has everything you need from a love story. It was poignant but ends with a 'happily ever after'. 🥰🥹

Title: Interesting & Slow
Review: I felt this book was dragged out. There were times that I didn't want to finish the book because of the pace of the book, and back forth with Georgia and Noah. Also, there times I became frustrated and bored with Georgia's story line. The stories about Jamerson & Scarlett were far more interesting. The end save the book great twist....though it took foreverrr to get to the climax.

Review: I’m not sure I can accurately put into words just how I feel about this book. There are book out there that swallow you up mind and soul, you don’t observe the journey the characters take but you experience it as they do, and without apology these books grab every aspect of your being, pulling you into the pages so you are not aware of the passage of time and whilst the emotions they pull from you may make you want to look away you are unable to do so. This is one of those books and I am a changed person because of reading it.Told in alternating timelines Rebecca manages to seamlessly deliver to us the story of two once in a generation loves. The flow between past and present, between Scarlett and Jameson and Georgia and Noah falling in love was effortless. The insane chemistry that sparked between the characters, the heartfelt moments, the love that just bled from the pages, the loss, the twists that left me stunned. It all creates a beautifully written masterpiece that is a true transcendent reader experience.I went into the book expecting to shed some tears but I was not prepared for how emotionally destroyed this book left me and I was in absolute pieces. My heart felt ready to leave my chest and the tears would not stop. Rebecca has written a flawless book that encompasses what a classic or romance novel should be. I’ve never read anything like this and I don’t think I ever will again. This is a love story for the ages.
