2008 saw the Queen of Rock "n" Roll, Tina Turner return to the live circuit and announce the 'Tina Turner's 50th Anniversary Concert Tour' much to the delight of her fans. The tour kicked off in Kansas in October 2008 and continued for six months visiting over ten countries in two continents. To commemorate this record breaking world tour Parlophone will release the Tina Live CD & DVD (PAL/Region 0) on 28th September. The DVD was filmed at GelreDome, Arnhem in Holland in March 2009 where Tina played to an enormous crowd of 70,000 people. Directed by David Mallet for Serpent Productions, this breathtaking footage is filmed in HD and mixed in 5.1 surround sound. At over two hours long it features all of her much loved songs including, 'The Best', 'Private Dancer' and the powerful 'We Don't Need Another Hero'. a Tina Live CD serves as an accompaniment to this visual spectacular.

Title: Wow. What a performer for all ages.
Review: I have always loved Tina, but this DVD knocked my socks off. Amazing. I highly recommend this DVD; so entertaining. Fantastic choreogaphy, great music, fabulous stage persona. Amazing she was able to perform at this level and look so good at 69.Rest in peace Tina. We will miss her talent.

Review: It is not easy to start when you are going to review a production from a legend such as Tina Turner.Tina Turner is a true Diva, a true legend. The queen of rock and a woman who can pack stadiums at 70. She hasn't only sold more concert tickest than any other performer, she has an audience of people from 15 up to 70 years old. I think that will be very difficult for another singer to be able to gain all this and specially have the energie, strengh and voice to do it at 70.This DVD/CD combo captures a show in Holland from Tina's 50th Anniversary World Tour 2008/09.The show is simply incredible, Tina's voice is still so powerful and she still dances. But besides all this, the production this time is much better than her previous tours. The dancers are better, the special eefcts are better and the song selection for the show is very good. It's great to hear again songs that Tina hasn't sang in years such as "Typical male", "Undercover agent for the blues" or "What you get is what you see". And personally I think that ending the show with "Be tender with me baby" as se did on her "Foreign Affair Tour" from 1990 was a great election.The only negative thing about this production is that the DVD has no extras. It was recorded in high quality and 5.1 sound but I could have extras, such as an interview with Tina or some behind the scenes. But I think that later on there will be a Blu Ray release that might contain extras.I can finally comment that something positive is that you can see here the whole show. It hasn't been cut like other Tina DVD's.

Review: This is everything that was in the advertisement (plus great service / shipping, good price) I am disappointed that I couldn't get it in BluRay. But that is not this seller's fault. But having just seen it in HD on our TV, the regular DVD format was a bit disappointing. I will def buy it in HD if it's ever released in that format.

Title: Excellent performance
Review: I confess, I was never a big Tina Turner fan and was only familiar with the tunes I heard occasionally on the radio. When I saw this concert it just blew me away. Everything about this concert was outstanding - Tina, the dancers, the band, the filming. Tina looks and sounds phenomenal, especially considering her age. The most noticeable thing to me was how good her voice sounds, she hasn't lost a thing. She sings with authority and has no problem with high or low notes, she just nails it. The band is smoking and the dancers really add a lot to the performance - both the band and the dancers are really tight, I read somewhere that the dancers rehearsed from 8 to 16 hours a day and it definitely shows. Her background singers both have outstanding voices and Tina is gracious enough to allow both of them to take a solo. Tina looks like someone who really enjoys what she's doing and truly appreciates her fans. I've got a lot of concerts on DVD, and this one rates at the top in terms of overall performance and entertainment value. You can't go wrong ordering this DVD, it's excellent in all aspects.

Title: Still Nice and Rough
Review: With the release of this DVD/CD Tina confirms she is the undisputed Queen of rock. At nearly age 70, Tina's voice, beauty, stage presence, energy, and of course legs, put other performers to shame who are not even half her age. I had the privilege of attending a concert from this 2009 tour and was blown away by hearing Tina's powerful voice rip through hit after hit from her glorious 50-year reign in the brutal music industry. This DVD captures the energy and spectacle of the concert admirably, and the live CD is a nice bonus souvenir. The one thing the DVD is lacking is extras...all you get is the concert. For longtime Tina fans there are little surprises, since this functions as essentially a greatest hits concert, with some of her stage sets and performances virtually identical to previous concert DVD's such as "Wildest Dreams" and "24/7." Still, the viewer does not get the sense that Tina is simply going through the motions...in fact, she seems to have more energy and look even younger than she did in her 2000 tour, when she was 60. Overall, an oustanding show worth owning and revisiting.

Review: J'avais vu un extrait de ce concert sur la chaine TV Arte pendant le confinement, la pèche que vous apporte cette grande dame, son hyper professionnalisme, ses tubes... je m'étais jurée d'acheter le cd (avec le dvd). C'est aujourd'hui chose faite. Si le CD est excellent, le DVD est mille fois mieux. Si un jour vous avez le moral au plus bas, faite vous la totale de ce coffret cd/dvd et vous aurez la patate. A écouter et voir sans modération.
