Title: Interesting space saving design. Convenient and well made.
Review: Update: I changed the rating from 4 stars to 5. After about two months the main complaint of toast not being brown on the bottom has changed. I'm not sure why, but the toast is now evenly brown all over an dit browns quicker than before. ??? Maybe the elements needed to "burn in"? Whatever the problem was, it seems to be resolved now. Hooray! Our toaster bit the dust and we haven't had a toaster oven in years so we thought it was a clever idea to combine both and it is with one drawback (the bottom 1/2" -1" so of the toast doesn't brown due to the placement of the elements. It's not a dealbreaker for me because what it does brown is nice and even. The whole slice feels toasted, it's just not all brown. (see update above) You need to hold the toaster lever down for a couple seconds for it to catch and start toasting. You can't just push it down and release. I like that there is a cancel button and you can lift the toast slightly to help in removing it. It's handy that you can toast different shapes of bread in the wide slot. I like the overall size of this oven. It doesn't take up a lot of space in the kitchen. Not much more than the large 4 slice toaster we had. The controls are easy to use and not complicated like some. You do have to turn on the timer to get the oven to work. It has a pleasant timer alert, a must for my husband. Note, the alert only works with the oven, not the toaster. I like that the toaster part closes when not in use by pushing a lever. The oven heats up quickly. We've used the broiler a lot and it works great. I like that you can prop the door partly open to allow heat to dissipate after use. I bought a set of pans made for toaster ovens and am glad I did. It makes it much more versatile. My only real issue is that the whole thing gets quite hot. We didn't put it under a low overhanging cabinet for that reason. You don't want to touch the edges of door (the handle is fine) or outside parts of the oven when taking food out. I got several small burns when I used it the first couple times. I'm more aware now.Overall it's a great little toaster/oven and we're happy with our choice.

Title: The weirdest toaster / oven (and the best)
Review: I bit on this one because other reviews convinced me to give it a go. They were not wrong! My biggest struggle with toaster ovens has been that they either just dry out the bread or it takes so long to toast simple things that you forget they're in the toaster until they burn. The traditional toaster slot is perfect for toast. Toasts fast! - which means, your bread still tastes soft and fresh under the toasted surface. The slots are wide enough for bagels without squishing them. The toaster oven works well also. I can only vouch for the quality of grilled ham and cheese sandwiches so far, but it works quickly and well. I'm also enjoying the easily cleaned crumb catcher. Looks like a good investment and I'm super pleased!

Title: Great space saving and functional appliance! Strongly recommend.
Review: We have had this for 4 years now and it has been a great thing to have in the kitchen. We wanted the kids to be able to toast waffles and bread without burning themselves, but didn't want 2 appliances on the countertop. This solves that. Is fairly easy to clean and heats up pretty quickly. I actually find that I can toast 4 pieces of bread or bagels at a time when in toast more. Just open up the toaster oven pay and put the bagels in the face up. It gets pretty hot and speeds up the process of tossing more than 2 things at a time. I wish they had this with air fryer capabilities so if your reading this Hamilton Beach...!

Title: Love it!
Review: I've had my Hamilton Beach 2 in 1 toaster oven for 9 months now. Here is my take on the pros and cons:PROS: - It makes great toast! Toast is evenly browned on both sides and, of course, it's nostalgic and fun to use the toaster feature. - The oven works as expected. - It's easy to clean.CONS: - The pop up feature is too low, making it a bit dangerous to remove your toast. I haven't burnt my fingers yet but won't be surprised if I do sometime. This is the major drawback of this product.- Of minor concern, the toaster oven makes a clicking noise that lasts throughout the entire toasting time, prompting me to nickname it "the tap dancing toaster." It doesn't really bother me, though.I would definitely buy this again, but I hope future upgrades pop the toast up so it can be easily grabbed. Enjoy!

Title: Works Well But Gets Very Hot
Review: I got this to replace the older style of the same thing that I got in 2007. My old one was still working but it was starting to toast unevenly so we decided to upgrade. At first I thought that this was too big for our space but after using it a bit I find I like the bigger size. First of all the oven is actually usable where my old one was so tiny I hardly ever used it. The other thing I like is that since the toaster is wider I can actually fit three standard pieces of bread in there if I need more toast. One other thing that this has that my old one did not is a button I can press to disengage or stop the toaster, It causes the toast to pop up and stops the toaster. In my old one I had to push up on the handle which was hard to do without causing the toast to fly out of the toaster. I do find that I have to hold the toaster lever down for a couple seconds to get it to catch. I think it has to have that time to fully engage the toaster heating mechanism. The only downside and this could be a deal breaker if you do not have a lot of space on your counters. The outside gets extremely hot especially if you are using the oven portion. I have to position mine so the cord is not directly behind the unit because it's so hot that I think it could damage the cord over time. I think that they could have added some insulation to prevent the heat from radiating so much out the back and sides of the oven. It gets really hot and stays hot for awhile even when it's off. So make sure you have the room around it to allow for this heat to dissipate safely.

Review: I was a little skeptical going for a 2 in 1 device like this, but I have to say it has turned out to be a decent quality toaster and toaster oven. We likely use it mostly as a toaster, and it's nice to have the extra-long slot if you are into different types of bread, and if not it still does two slices just as well. The toaster oven is nothing too exciting, the one thing that stands out to me is the thing is completely mechanical, so except for the actual heating element there are no electronics in it, so we don't get any of the "smart" features, but I will be willing to bet that this one will out last all of those "smart" toaster ovens.
Customers say
Customers like the countertop oven for its toasting ability and ease of use. They mention it works well, makes great toast, and is convenient. Some are also happy with its nice looks and ease of cleaning. However, some customers have mixed opinions on the space-saving feature, heat level, and build quality.
