Title: Blu-Ray Review: MVD does right by a Camp Classic
Review: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is a very silly movie that you'll either love or hate (it's currently on Prime Video if you want to try before you buy), but fans of the film will have a lot to appreciate with MVD's Blu-Ray presentation. About 6 or 7 years ago, MVD put out Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (Special Collector's Edition) on DVD. The DVD had great picture quality for it's format and a plethora of special features, including two 8mm films that served as "prototypes" for Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and a thoroughly informative and entertaining commentary track from Director John De Bello, who gleefully tells you about all the hilariously cheap, genuinely dangerous things that went on while making the film. The DVD has been out of print for years and commands quite a premium, but thankfully this Blu-Ray edition contains every single bonus feature the DVD did, including the poster, so if you missed out the first time or are already a fan and want to upgrade, now's the perfect time. So, the question with any Blu-Ray release of an old favorite is, "How does it look in HD?" and in the case of Killer Tomatoes, it looks excellent. I was actually surprised it took this long for the movie to come to Blu-Ray, especially considering the (pretty awful) sequel was already on the format, but I'm pleased to say that it was worth the wait. For such an amateur film made on such a ridiculously shoestring budget, MVD's 1080p presentation boasts a surprising amount of clarity and vibrance. There's a lot of detail on offer here, and closeups in particular have an amazing sense of texture. There are very minor some pops and flecks here and there that add to the "old movie" feeling, but the picture remains remarkably clean throughout. Details such as the fabric on everybody's tacky 70's suits, and the woodgrain that seems to permeate every environment shine through with ease. The opening scene where a lady is murdered by a tomato in her kitchen does a good job setting the pace for how the rest of the film looks, and it's a very consistent presentation throughout, with no notable problems or deficiencies. Color is also fantastic, with vibrant tomato reds, and lush grassy greens that really pop. Interior scenes offer a veritable rainbow of hideous 70's furniture and carpeting for you to feast your eyes on and the disc handles everything thrown at it with ease.Overall, this is a very complete re-release, with every bell and whistle you could ask for and a great HD remaster. They only other thing they could have possibly added would be the obscure 1995 Director's cut, which only ever came out on VHS, but that's reaching. The only way I can imagine this movie ever looking better than it does here is if it somehow gets a 4K release, but this Blu-Ray looks so good I honestly don't know that it would even be warranted. This is the absolute definitive version of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and fans of the movie should definitely pick this up.

Title: A genuine American classic with a growing cult following.
Review: I liked it because it kept visiting relatives quiet for almost two hours. One granddaughter developed a severe ketchup phobia which has been highly resistant to treatment so far. Her parents had trouble sleeping after watching AKT for the first time and haven’t been back for over three years, even though we live in Florida. If you want the recipient of a gift to remember that this video was your gift this is it!!!

Title: Pure awesomeness!!!
Review: Ok first of all this is one classic movie and should be enjoy like one. This is one film you should not miss, the movies is actually really good I like to see movies like this I started collecting DVD's of this kind and let me tell you this is one of the top 5 on mi list. Get this wail you can before is to late, cultural classic and master film in my opinion. One thing enjoy the movie like you were on the 1978 and don't say the movie is bad because of the cheese effects that is what makes this movie great.

Title: A guilty pleasure on a excellent DVD!
Review: In San Diego, ordinary tomatoes have become menacing mutant vegetables with an appietite for humans as they spread through the nation. Agent Mason Dixson ( David Miller) has been hired by the government with the help of misfits including Wilbur Finletter ( Steve Peace) to stop the mad red veggie menace from taking over the world and find out who is behind this.Entertaining and unexpectionally goofy musical Sci-fi horror parody indie production that was pretty much low budget and was based on the director's earlier short film version of his "Attack of the Killer tomatoes". Yes the acting, dialog and storyline are preety bad but this does have a couple of funny moments, a memorable theme song and a few musical numbers makes a pure guilty pleasure for me, this is a geniunely so-bad it's good movie that deserves it's cult following. This collector's edition DVD offers good picture & sound quality and has quite good extras like audio commentary, the original two short films from the movie's creators especially the original "Attack of the Killer tomatoes" short with the director's commentary, trailer, two easter eggs, sing-along songs, radio spots, trivia, six featurettes, and deleted scenes. If you like cult flicks, horror, Sci-fi, spoofs and Family Guy then i recommend this movie!

Title: Great collection Horrible movie
Review: The product is amazing, it comes with a slipcover (Some people say there is damage on the slip cover, but it is intentional) two disks (One blu ray one Dvd) and a minuter poster inside. It is amazing!! Sadly the movie is very confusing and not to funny. Still it gets five stars because I grade the product, not the movie.

Title: Huge Gut Buster Of A Movie
Review: This movie is truly a classic of all B movies. Truly funny each time and every time you watch it again and again. Killer Tomatoes bring back wonderful memories and how can you miss the song of "Killer Tomatoes" when the movie begins. Highly rarely do you find movies like this today...add it towards your monster movie collection as a "side dish" to it and watch a lot of eye brows perk up! from family and friends that seen it before...great memories and a great movie that is over looked..highly recommended!!

Review: Warum wollen manche Kritiker in den „Killertomaten“ den schlechtesten Film aller Zeiten sehen? Humorlosigkeit? Scheuklappen?

Review: A spectacular, much under-rated movie. Totally tongue in cheek, definitely before the " politically correct" era. Meant to be viewed to find how many not-quite-right items/situations one can observe. Not a film that was not good enough. Great 30 years ago, and ditto for now.
