Using a new translation by James Trapp and including editorial notes, this bilingual edition of The Art of War lays the original Chinese text opposite the modern English translation.
Written in the sixth century BC, Sun Tzu's The Art of War is still used as a guide for military strategy today. Napoleon, Mao Zedong, General Vo Nguyen Giap, and General Douglas MacArthur all claimed to have drawn inspiration from it. Beyond the world of war, business and management gurus have also applied Sun Tzu's ideas to office politics and corporate strategy. This edition contains the full original 13 chapters on such topics as laying plans, attacking by stratagem, weaponry, terrain, and the use of spies. Sun Tzu addresses different campaign situations, marching, energy and exploiting your enemy's weaknesses. Of immense influence on great leaders across millennia, The Art of War is a classic text richly deserving this exquisite edition.

Title: What was old is new again!
Review: The early translations of this wonderful book were exciting, invigorating and pretty well presented. There have been other translations of the work, always making things a little bit more clear. This version is well done and a treat to reacquaint myself with the ancient philosophies.Great for just about anyone to read as it gives both strategic insights and also life lessons to be extracted from within its pages.

Title: This is the Edition you want if..
Review: If both feel an Aesthetic is important to you as a reader, this is the edition you want. This is the second edition I own, though I'm confident it's the last version I'll ever own. Perfect for those serious about studying this Masterpiece of ageless tactics and advice. More then "just the battlefield." This is applicable to all aspects of life, to the creative of mind.

Title: Boring but easy translation to understand
Review: I mean... It's boring, but this translation was easy to understand. I had to read it for school, and this was easier to get than if I tried to find it at a library or book store. It got the job done will, so 4 stars, but minus 1 star for boring.

Title: If you are going 'show off' this book, this is the must have version
Review: The Art of War, was a very small book carried by wise fighting men to assist them on any battlefield. However if you want a coffee table sized version - this is it! Many people who order a copy of the Art of War are disappointed by the size of the book not realizing that it was meant to be carried in a pocket.

Title: Book came damaged, but otherwise okay I guess
Review: Seems it was either dropped during shipping or came damaged from factory. Maybe indulge in a great invention called bubble wrap?
