ZINK WICKED SERIES TURKEY HUNTING BOX CALL
Born from Zink Calls and NWTF Grand National Champion custom call maker Marlin Watkins,
the Wicked Series Box is a traditional-style box call constructed from poplar and extremely
dense bloodwood. It may look like the traditional box calls you grew up with, but it performs
a heck of a lot better.
A double-sided design gets the job done two times over to produce different tones and
emulate multiple hens. With Marlin's trademark style to "put the turkey in the call", these
versatile, natural turkey sounds are astonishing - from soft calling to loud locating, and
everything in between.
- How to use a turkey box call:
Hold the call base with your off-hand and the lid handle with your dominant hand. There are
numerous ways to hold the handle; use whichever feels most comfortable and allows
adequate control. One option is to place your thumb on the top of the handle and your index
finger below. Or, make a "V" with your index and middle finger and the handle in the center.
1. Yelp: Softly slide the lid across the top of one sidewall with a quick 3/4 to 1-inch stroke.
2. Cluck: Place the thumb of your dominant hand on the end of the handle with slight
pressure. Find the sweet spot on top of the box sidewall (near the middle) and tap the inside
edge of the lid against it. The lid only needs to move about ¼ inch per tap.
3. Cutt: Use the cluck technique, but with more rapid motion and increased downward
friction. Do this at different rhythms and tempos.
4. Purr: Drag the lid across the sidewalls slowly and softly.
5. Cackle: Produce a series of four to six cutts. Slow down at the end of the series.

Title: Quality lacking at this price.
Review: Sound is good, not great. . The paddle wood was not finished well, nor the sound chamber - both are very rough for this price. Zink, if your listening, spend more time on quality workmanship, and less time/cost on LASER etching your logo and leaf pattern. Fairly disappointed in the quality. Sound is good, but not better than an old Lynch 150 or current longboard box call that costs $30 a $32. Zink - focus on sound and actual build quality please.UPDATE: Zink offered to replace the call, but said all of the calls look like my pictures do, so the one I got wasnât uniquely poor quality-they are all like this.

Title: Overpriced, but projects/punches for the wind
Review: Underwhelmed for the price to be honest. Needed a loud box for windy OK and got plenty of response, so it checked that box however it I did not like it for more subtle purrs or clucks. I'd expect more for $100 to be objective and critical.
