Title: Impressive Speed and Storage
Review: The SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO USB 3.2 Solid State Flash Drive is an outstanding product. With transfer speeds of up to 420MB/s, it's incredibly fast, making it ideal for quickly moving large files. The 1TB capacity provides ample storage space, perfect for all my data storage needs. The durable aluminum metal casing adds a layer of protection, ensuring the drive is sturdy and reliable. Whether for work or personal use, this flash drive is an excellent investment. My only minor issue is that it can get a bit warm during heavy use, but that's expected with such high performance.

Title: Excellent Device - Works as advertised - no problems - fast!
Review: Before buying this, I made the mistake of buying a "too good to be true" cheap 2 TB USB drive. It was slow, unreliable and wasted a lot of my time messing with it. This device was the exact opposite - fast, reliable and no messing around. At my age, I should know that you get what you pay for. This device is 3X more expensive for half the capacity (1 TB). Was it worth it? Absolutely! The cheap device took 30 hours to get my data onto it, only to find out that about 30% of the files were corrupted. This device took 5 hours to copy all my data and it with no corrupted files. What else can I say? It's a great product and I would recommend it to anybody.I have a suggestion for an improvement. Turn the device 90 degrees and have it plug in from the side instead of at the end. It is 3 inches long and I am worried about it getting accidentally bumped or banged and snapping it off or damaging it. If the drive hugged the side of my laptop, the chance of accidentally catching it on something would be drastically reduced. I'll bet the smart engineers at SanDisk can figure out how to do this.I can't wait until the 2TB version of this drive comes out. I'll be first in line!I've read other reviews that talked about being concerned about the drive heating up. I copied data to it for 5 hours straight and it got warm, but not warm enough to ruin the drive or shorten its life.

Title: THIS IS A "HOT" DEAL!
Review: This flash drive is very, very fast. Of course at 1TB it will store a great deal of data. It is Windows compatible and DOES NOT require any downloads of software in order to make it work. They say it is metal; it doesn't feel like metal. It feels like heavy plastic. That is o.k. because the housing doesn't really bother me. The USB plug-in storage is good as well as the size of the unit. The little blue processing light is almost impossible to see. Don't rely on it to tell you anything. This thing gets H-O-T! It is not enough to burn you or melt your equipment but just beware that it will be quite warm then you remove it after using it. I really do not know why this SSD stick would get so very hot. The setup is easy but "goofy" (at least to me). If you setup the vault/security/password system be prepared for some strange procedures. There is no instruction book/explanation that comes with the stick other than what you see in the opening downloads. It would be a good idea for SanDisk to provide one for computer "lay people" so they would know what to do. I have processed documents, pictures, downloads and videos to this stick and it works perfectly and is very, very fast.I would recommend for the lay person to go online and watch several videos pertaining to how to setup and use the stick. I would be very helpful. Don't be worried, it is really easy to use once you get the "hang" of it.The price is great! I called my friends about this stick and price and they are going to purchase one also.Buy it. You will probably like it!

Title: After a months use, I still really like it
Review: I've been using it for about 3 to 4 weeks now, and it's performance is not disappointing for me. I'm a software engineer and I backup many customer projects on this device, projects that contain thousands of tiny node.js files, and the speed of backing up 100 megs of PHP 8, with assets such as JavaScript and Node.js files takes 7 minutes now, where before with older technology it took 1 hour and 15 minutes. Restoring the files from this device to my Dell Precision 7865 takes 6 minutes now. Perhaps the AMD Threadripper Pro technology gives that 1 minute edge over my Intel technology at the office.I also have a new Kingston Data Traveler Max 1TB with USB Type C connector, that was given to me last week for evaluation from Kingston to compare against this SanDisk. The Kingston is quicker using the same PHP project, by about 10% to 15% in both directions. It takes about 5.5 minutes to backup the same project, and about 4.5 minutes to restore it.So far I like the packaging of the SanDisk Extreme Pro better now, well until the slider stops sliding and locking into position, so when that day comes I will like the Kingston Data Traveler Max packaging better. The Kingston packaging is simpler and cheaper looking, not so flashy or complex.I like both, this SanDisk and the Kingston, and won't take sides or say one is better than the other. If I had to choose one, I would cheat and get both, and not tell anyone. For some weird reason, I can't let go of the SanDisk and I keep using it, not shifting to the Kingston because it's faster. So that must say something. As far as heat goes, I read some reviews where they said the units were very hot after use. Both the Sandisk and Kingston didn't get hot on me from actual use. There was one time the SanDisk was very warm, but I had left it plugged in the computer while not using it for about 4 hours as I was writing code. I usually eject and unplug after use as habit.Back to the Sandisk ...I haven't had anything with the name SanDisk on it fail on me yet, but I haven't used these really hard yet either, so time will tell. They all seem to have generous warranties even after expiration, so that's not a concern either. I don't work directly off these devices, which I think is a bad idea and no matter what brand it is, it will not be immortal and live forever.

Review: I'm pretty old fashioned and have a lot of USB 2.x 1-16gb thumb drives collected over the years. But it's annoying and slow to copy even a single movie or other large file to them.So when I setup my new computer, in a dual boot with Linux and Windows, I decided to not do a shared bridge partition on the hard drive and instead buy a faster thumb drive to transfer my files between OSes.So far this stick has performed well. Very fast. Does get a bit hot, and is bulky. Comes formatted in exFAT filesystem, which is a good call. I deleted all the files that were included (some included encryption EXE that I assumed was junk). I've used between Linux and Windows 10 at home, and onto half a dozen other computers so far without any issue. One complaint would be the little thumb switch to bring the USB plug out is finnicky, and kind of annoying to slide backwards, and feels a lot cheaper than the rest of the drive (which is nicely cased in metal).A lot of the reviews mention longevity as an issue, so I'll definitely report back if this breaks in a year or two, because I expect a longer life than that from a static thumb drive.
