Review: I can see the validity in the other reviews, but I bought it more for general ideas. I can't imagine expecting loads of details in a book that talks about 101 different cities in 30+ different countries. It met my expectations perfectly and I'd recommend it for anyone living in the UK and looking for some ideas of where to start with planning weekends away. My only complaint is that this seems to have been updated in 2015 (or at least reissued), but some of the text talks about things scheduled to be constructed / completed in 2008 / 2009. Surely they could have looked that up?

Title: Not As Good As It Sounds
Review: As an expat living in Europe for a while, I was looking for some good recommendations on how to spend my weekends. This book is fine IF all you are looking for are locations and a very broad idea of what's available there (ski the alps). If you are looking for detailed recommendations, this is not the book for you. I wanted to see something like 48 hours in Berlin = hotel rec, breakfast rec, activity rec, lunch rec, activity rec, dinner and nightlife rec....repeat for day 2 and possibly a 3rd day for those so inclined. Each location could have had several such itineraries one for culture, one for outdoor activities, etc. So, long story short, don't buy this book thinking that's what you'll get or you'll be as disappointed as I was.

Title: Skip this book
Review: Don't waste your money on this book. Buy any other travel guide or go to a travel site such as Tripadvisor for information. The content of this book is vague and poorly written. I guess the photos are nice. I borrowed it for free from my library and am utterly disappointed. Wasn't worth the time it took to download.

Title: Crete, Rhodes and Santorini less interesting than Limoges and Frankfurt?
Review: I did not buy the book but when you look for *Greece* in the table of contents (page 3 of the preview), you find only 2 pages and 1 destination: Athens. In the 101 weekends in Europe, there is apparently no room for Crete, Rhodes or Santorini. Will you enjoy instead Limoges in France and Frankfurt in Germany?

Title: Don't bother with this one.
Review: I bought this book in a London train station, thinking that it would help with regards to planning any future trips. The pictures are nice, yet the book is really quite basic and left me longing for more. It lacks any sort of personal touch, opinions, recommendations, that sort of thing. Some blogs and other sites will be far more helpful. I think I’ll refer to Rick Steves books. I’m also open as to favorite European destinations!

Review: I got 3 of this book, gave 2 as gift and they loved it. I think it is fantastic. Can you use the same Internet? Yes. But it cannot replace the novelty of getting or giving a gift or something to look up for.
