The Shark POWERDETECT ultra-light corded stick vacuum combines the most powerful suction* of any Shark Rocket stick vacuum† and intelligence** across corded stick vacuums. The new DuoClean Detect nozzle includes Intelli-Sense smart sensors that automatically react by boosting brushroll speed when and where you need it most. DuoClean Detect automatically senses different floor types, and even senses the direction you are vacuuming, directing powerful suction either forward or in reverse. Dirt, debris, large piles, fine dust, and pet hair are no match for DuoClean Detect that will give you the best overall cleaning of any corded stick†. Shark’s Odor Neutralizer Technology guards against bad odors inside your vacuum to help freshen your home. Plus, Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with HEPA filtration seals and traps 99.99%†* of dust, dander, and allergens inside the vacuum, keeping them out of the air you breathe. *Based on ASTM F558, measured at the hose vs. Shark Rocket stick vacuums **Based on the number of features that autonomously alter cleaning performance. †Based on ASTM/IEC carpet/bare floor vs. corded stick market. †*Based on ASTM F1977, down to 0.3 microns. Allergens refers to non-living matters

Title: SOLD on First Use! Amazing!
Review: We've had a Hoover up-right for years. About two years ago, I purchcased a Shark Rocket vacuum. It was great for quicky vacuum jobs and even on carpet. This POWERDETECT is simply amazing! I was anxious to use it right out of the box which I did. All I can say, it is worth every penny AND SOME.What's to Love: 1) It simply works!; 2) It's lightweight. Some reviews indicated that it's heavy. I disagree completely. It's actually lighter than my Rocket.; 3) Some reviews indicate the oderizer is overpowering. My spouse is very sensitive to odors of any kind, and this is not over powering whatsoever. I'll admit some may have an ultra sensitive sense of smell, but this isn't at all bad.; 4) My Rocket pushes stuff around when you vacuum over it backwards. This POWERDETECT does not. This vacuum picks up small dirt items going fowards and backwards.Minor Detractors: 1) One "minor" detractor I might have about this vacuum is that it works so well, that the dirt and debris holder fills rather quickly. If you have pets and only vacuum about once a week, it will grab up dirt and hair at a rate such that you'll have to empty the container somewhat often. We have two dogs that shed fairly heavily so I can pick up enough hair in a 12'x12' (depending upon the room the dogs tend to say in) area that you may end up emptying the debris trap somewhat often. For me, this isn't a problem. The trap is very easily removable and empties in a minute.; 2) Some reviews mention the power cord is stiff. This is true. However, I assume that it's likely that way in order to last a long time and to tolerate a bit of abuse. NOTE: I chose a corded only because that's what I'm used to so it isn't a big deal to me. I read some reviews about the rechargable cordless vacuums that complained about usage time due to battery drain. Personally, I didn't want to deal with that.Summary: All I can say is that I love this vacuum. I've never owned a Dyson, but have heard great things. However, for the money, I can't imagine the "D" vacuum being all that much better. If you're researching stick vacuums, this is one to consider. Hope this helps.

Title: Great Vacuum!!
Review: We have only had it a short time, but the vacuum seems to be a doing a great job. I like the weight of the vacuum. Was hoping it would be a little easier on stairs than it is, but overall does a good job.

Title: Shark Powerdetect Ultralight
Review: This is absolutely the best stick vacuum. It surpassed the stratos stick vacuum which is an excellent vacuum also. It is more powerful than even the stratos if that is possible. It has a reconfigured floor head and it stands on its own. The powerdetect on it is great. This vacuum will possibly replace every vacuum cleaner you have ever had. I purchased the shark powerdetect upright and loved it but had to return because of the weight. This vacuum is as powerful as that one and is lightweight. Great Job Shark.

Title: Works well
Review: So far I like it. Works well. Just pulling the handle down to vacuum, I had to bend down to disengage the floor head. I'm hoping it's just because it's new. For a lightweight vacuum it seems to work like the heavy ones. Wish it had more attachments and places to hang them. My first time with a stick vacuum so I hope it holds up. I prefer corded because batteries need charging and replacing. I didn't find any issues with the cord although because it's at the top, I think in time it will break/crack from tension. Be sure to leave slack when rolling the cord for storage. Currently a great value.

Title: Fast & Powerful. Easy To Empty. Accurate Readout & Mode Shifting.
Review: This vacuum is nice and compact, so itâs easy to store. Assembly was easy, though itâs not clear to me where the hard floor attachment is meant to latch on or how itâs meant to be used. I donât totally understand how youâre ideally supposed to use the wand either, since its end is so weirdly-shaped. I think the narrow attachment is pretty necessary to offer precision. So far, if I pretend itâs a flame-thrower, it seems to make more sense to me, so Iâll just stick with that (which is really fun). At least itâs easy to pull out and use while the vacuum is still running.A packet was included that contained what is referred to as the âOdor Neutralizer Technology.â Thatâs basically a scented ring that you pop into a spot on the vacuum to perfume your area. I have no clue what industrial chemicals are used to create that fragrance, and I donât see them listed anywhere, so thereâs no way whatsoever Iâm willing to implement that. Just taking note of it after unwrapping it, it produces a very strong fragrance that is not kind to my allergies, reminding me of what itâs like to get an instant headache. It was important to open the package, at least, since thatâs where the cap for the item is, and I needed to be able to pop that specific part onto the empty slot on the vacuum to give it a complete, cohesive appearance. This fragrance ring is the sort of thing thatâs meant to be tossed and replaced as it wears out.The cord is nice and thick, though itâs not as convenient as my stick vacuum that uses a rechargeable battery. This vacuum is way better in pretty much every other way, though, so I offer it forgiveness. Anyway, the way the cord wraps around encourages it to bend at too severe an angle from where it issues forth, so I make sure to leave some slack before winding it.This vacuum is really cool and super powerful. I pre-vacuumed an area with another vacuum and then followed up with this one, and I was seriously impressed with how much extra dust and debris this picked up in even a small area. This really gets things clean. You simply press the power button up top, and it gets moving, sucking up everything. On carpet, if I donât hold it back and just let it loose, it propels itself forward at such a speed that I can literally jog along with it. On hard floor, it offers more resistance. Though you can toggle it manually, it automatically senses whether Iâm vacuuming hard floor or carpet pretty much instantly and shifts its function appropriately. On my hard floor kitchen, as soon as I run it over the short rug in there, it switches to carpet mode, and then once Iâm off the rug, itâs right back to hard floor mode. Itâs extremely accurate and instantaneous. I tried it on every various rug type and carpet I have, and it chose the correct option every time. For reference, I have some of the shortest pile carpet, I have shag carpet, and everything in between. I love that it has a readout at the top showing what mode itâs toggled to. And down at the vacuum base, it indicates whether itâs vacuuming hard floor or carpet via another digital readout. When you stand it up, it does stand up on its own without moving. To get it moving, instead of stepping on some switch, you simply hold the base down with you foot and then start lowering the handle downward, where it unlatches automatically and gets to moving the vacuum forward.Once I figured out and performed the process a few times, I was relieved that itâs easy to remove the small debris tank and empty it into the trash. There a mesh cone in there that always has hair wrapped around it after a vacuum, and the hair slides right off of that and into the trash.
