Title: ... comfort foods in a concise book is what I like the most about 100 Best Vegan Recipes
Review: That there are so many comfort foods in a concise book is what I like the most about 100 Best Vegan Recipes. Many of my favorites are represented here like mashed potatoes, meatloaf, mac and cheese, Sour Cream Coffee Cake. But so are many of my new 'go to' foods like the Mango-Avocado Summer Rolls, Buffalo-Style Kale Crisps (a favorite), Broccoli with Black Beans and Walnuts, Country Fried Tofu with Golden Gravy to mention a few. I have been vegan for a couple years and it has been very easy to change because of these recipes. I don't miss anything I used to eat because of these new and improved versions of old favorites right at my fingertips!

Title: A good purchase
Review: I received this cookbook shortly before Christmas. Since meals were already planned for this period of time, I am just starting to seriously consider what I want to fix from this book. I think the only recipe I've tried so far is Chickpea Cashew Medallions Piccata Style. There are many very interesting recipes to choose from, including Couscous Brunch Cake with Peaches and Blueberries (which I will try when peaches come in season), Soy-tan Dream Cutlets (which combines extra-firm tofu with vital wheat gluten--a combination I have not seen before), Artichoke-Walnut Squares (the next time I need to make an appetizer). However, there are numerous soup, entree, salad recipes that look interesting which I plan to try. There are pictures scattered throughout the book but not a picture for every recipe. The recipes appear to be simple and straight-forward. This is my fifth Robin Robertson cookbook, each book containing recipes that I make over and over. I generally trust the recipes she provides and thought it would be a good addition to my cookbook collection even though I already have about 30 vegan cookbooks. Based on what I see in it, I believe it was a good purchase, and based on how the one recipe I made came out, it is at least worth 4 stars. Perhaps after I try a few more recipes, I might want to give it a 5 star rating.

Title: Looking back I know that it would not have been possible without the amazing collection of recipe books created by Robin Roberts
Review: It has been several years since we committed to living a vegan lifestyle. Looking back I know that it would not have been possible without the amazing collection of recipe books created by Robin Robertson. In each of the 12 books of Robin's we own, we found recipes that made eating an exciting experience. When I heard that she was coming out with a new book, I preordered it months in advance. It has been three weeks since the book arrived, and Robin's legacy continues. "The 100 Best Vegan Recipes" is another amazing collection provided by Robin Robertson. It only gets better.

Title: Where oh where is the recipe for seitan which it says on pages 15-16 it's somewhere in the book????
Review: I like this book and it has a lot of helpful tips for new vegans. On pages 15-16 it describes what "seitan", a protein source, is and says that it's simple to make and the directions are included elsewhere in the book. There are a few recipes in the book that call for seitan but nowhere was I able to find the recipe for making it. If anyone knows how to make it I would appreciate some help with it. Otherwise the only choice is to buy commercially made seitan which may have a lot of sodium and additives and I would prefer not to have these.
