Title: Awesome Yams
Review: OK, I bought this book because I hate vegetables. I really REALLY don't like them, and I needed to like them. So here comes this book, and the first thing I make is baked yams. Oh man, I LOVED them! Then I tried the leeks. I'd never had leeks before, and had no idea how to cook them. They were amazing!I love to read through the description of the process they took for each vegetable, trying to find the ideal way to cook them; I can see what I have tried and didn't work, WHY it didn't work, and what WILL work. Not a lot of pictures in this book, but I have enjoyed everything I've tried.

Title: Many of these recipes are found in other CI books
Review: I gave the book 4 stars because, although the recipes are excellent, many are re-hashed. I'm a CI fan and have 11 of their cookbooks and all the annuals since 2000. For those like me who have most of the other books, you may be disappointed that so many of these vegetable recipes are repeats. (Also note that this is a paperback and is slightly smaller in format than the hardbound CI cookbooks.) If your holdings are less extensive, buy the book.

Title: the best vegetable recipes
Review: I love the 'best' series of books because I am a great fan of fiddling with recipes and I love that these books give you a master recipe that has been tested and retested. Each one I have tried has turned out great. I also love that they try to keep in mind that not all of us have our own high dollar test kitchens and they provide clear product recommendations that cater to all income levels.

Title: Few photos
Review: I liked many of the recipes but there were few photos. I like colorful cookbooks that has a colorful photo for each recipe. It lets me know I got it right. So if you are an experienced chef that doesn't need that reinforcement, it's OK.

It's amazing how different vegetables can taste depending on preparation, and this book has it all figured out. For each veggie, they test multiple ways of preparation and tell you the best. Title: veggie cookbook
Review: Really a great cookbook for vegetables. The book is full of detail about preparation. I originally rented this from the library and just had to have my own copy. The recipes I have tried have turned out perfectly. I really like having a full understanding of what I am making, including how to get perfect results. I can shortcut later if I want.

Title: The best Vegetable Recipes
Review: This is a great book. It has not only recipes but other information on how to select, freeze, can, and cook so many vegetables. I have already made about 18 of the recipes and each one was very good. The authors took a lot of time testing various methods and it shows.

Title: Comprehensive Vegetable Recipes
Review: The great thing about Americas Test Kitchen is that they only publish recipes after numerous testings perfecting what they believe to be the best way to achieve optimal flavor and technique. This book of vegetable recipes is continued example of the comprehensive recipes ATK publishes. I also own a 2008 best of recipe book from ATK and the vegetable book is a good companion. If you're a fan of the ATK programs on PBS it's a no brainer to pick up some of their other publications. Whether it's a book like this one, their magazines, or access to their website, it's worth looking into. Give it a try. Enjoy.
