Title: Darn good, easy to use recorder.
Review: So far, after just a brief use, I love this thing. Sound quality is very good, clarity of playback is very good, battery life is very good, price for features is very good.Love the touch screen integration which makes for a very easy to use device. This is very little set up required, just a few simple things. The transcription AI is fairly good and the all aluminum body seems very durable. Not sure about the touch screen (might scratch easy, or even break on a simple fall) but i have had no problems yet.Overall this is a great recorder, with a very good interface, quality of spund and durability seems great also. 23 century recorder available now!!

Title: It works great
Review: I did not need it so I sent it back, but it works great once you figure out how to use it. Took me a while.

Title: Worked great for my audits.
Review: I purchased this unit basically for the transcription. I conduct audits on a daily basis, its my livelihood. So anything to save time. I have the Plaud, and the iflyteck. The Plaud is premium but it cost for the transcription (well worth it) and the iflytek that was so bad I sent back. To replace it i bought this little unit to replace the one I sent back. At this price point I didn't expect much. But after using it today I was very surprised of how well it sounded, and the transcription. The sound was clear enough that Microsoft had no problem with transcription into a word document. And it's own transcription worked very well.It was very easy to set up, and easy to use. It held a charge all day, and was very clear. So that is why the 4 stars I'm very impressed. The only thing I don't like so far is the feel. Very smooth. Easy to drop. I'm going to add some pistol grip tape to it this weekend to fix that. They need to come out with a screen protector and carrying case for this unit.Jeff- Lafayette indiana

Title: Works well in lecture recording mode!
Review: I bought it just for having a 'lecture' mode. And, thankfully, even in a large lecture hall with lots of students, it picks up our professor's voice very well. Just as advertised! I haven't learned all of its control features yet, but it's easy enough to operate without knowing everything. I got my first lecture transferred via USB cable to my laptop, but haven't figured out how to get the recorder to link via Bluetooth yet.

Title: The super recorder
Review: I bought this to hook up to my phone and it doesn't hook up. But it does work really well for recording doctor's appointments so that I don't have to remember everything he says.

Title: I mean.... it's kind of cool.
Review: I like to use voice recorders as mp3 players, I like the skinny shape. That's why I bought this one. However, I my sd card in with audio encoded in mp3,aac, and ogg. I took the sd card out t of another voice recorder . This one could see my sd card, but could find any files. These is no mp3 player app.I find the built-in manual to be super annoying.Think constant pop up windows that cover parts of the screen, usually the part you're trying to click. The vocabulary used is a bit odd, some strange word choices. It's probably pretty good if you're using it as intented.Speech to text is okay, but if it did language translations, that would be super cool

Title: I like the recorder
Review: I am quite impressed with the recorder, particularly its design, which is a standout feature for me. Its sleek aesthetic brings to mind the Juke phone from years ago. However, I have encountered a challenge: when connecting it to a computer to download files, the text files are somewhat difficult to read and manage compared to the clarity on the physical device. I am currently exploring more effective methods for transposing these files into a format that enhances readability. Nonetheless, I was sufficiently impressed to order two additional units for my employees.

Review: This recorder is not ready for action when you first take it out to use it. Each new screen you encounter or every new button you press for the first time shows tips on how to use it, including the recording screen, so if you press the record button or any of the modes on the home screen (General, Interview, Meeting, Lecture, Pocket) youâll be met with tips and the recording will not start until the last tip has resolved. MAKE SURE TO VISIT EVERY SCREEN AND PRESS EVERY BUTTON YOU PLAN TO USE AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE SERIOUS WORK.It comes with a USB C to A cable and a very well-written user manual in English only, which has the same tips as on-device, also in English only. It does run some kind of Android that boots in 20 seconds and, by default, goes to sleep after 1 minute (configurable) and can be woken up with the power slider. Android leaves 5.36 GiB of internal storage available, and it comes with a 29.28 GiB microSD card (total 34.64 GiB, or 37.19 GB) that can be changed for a bigger one and formatted for use with this recorder within the Settings menu.Recordings can be copied to a computer, from the microSD cardâs My Recording folder, by default (configurable). Under that folder, folders corresponding to each mode (General, Interview, Lecture, Meeting, Pocket) contain folders named after user-defined labels, which contain .aac files or .wav files depending on your chosen quality setting, as well as .txt files (see Speech to text below). The files this produces at AAC 128 kbps are great to listen to, and every gigabyte of storage can record 18 hours of audio at that quality.MODES:- General: Nothing special happens here. No noise cancellation happens, and the regular sensitivity mic is used.- Interview: Noise cancellation and regular sensitivity mic.- Meeting: Noise cancellation and high sensitivity mic.- Lecture: No noise cancellation but high sensitivity mic, with gain.- Pocket: Noise cancellation and high sensitivity mic, with gain. These modes represent very well the kinds of audio you might want to record. The lecture mode, in particular, is highly sensitive. It picks up very well in front, but also in any other direction, so if another student asks a question, it could overpower the lecturer. And lectures are probably one of the best uses of another feature under the Automation menu: scheduled recording. T-marks will also be useful for chapters or pages or so, but you pressing that button will show up in the recording, quite loudly if the high sensitivity mic is used.Speech to text: I recorded speech and no text is appearing. I did have to long-press a recording in the list and use the STT REDO option to get any text to show up, which took 8 seconds to process 5 seconds of audio, and I think the value of the setting STT Text Display when initially making a recording determines whether STT is used. It defaults to off. As I recorded âYou are the weakest link. Goodbye.â, all modes reported âYou are the weakest link goodbye.â as the text, except the Pocket mode, which reported âYou all other week a flame the guys.â [...]INPUT/OUTPUT: The built-in microphones and speaker, 3.5 mm headphones and headsets, or Bluetooth headphones and headsets can be used. The built-in speaker sounds very good.Settings: By default, an LED lights up whilst recording, but it can be switched off in Settings. Settings also allows automatically splitting recordings at a custom number of minutes, using a 3.5 mm jack microphone, waking up the screen with the Record key or not (default yes), adjusting quality down to 48 kbps AAC or up to 768 kbps WAV, setting brightness and the screen timeout, locking the device with a PIN (though in that case, be aware that taking out the microSD card allows unfettered access to everything on it).

Review: Been taking a Japanese course for the last half a year and this has been an absolute game changer. A lot of times, especially on a course where you're trying to learn another language, it can be easy to forget a lot of the stuff you hear after you've got back home. The pronunciation of words is where this probelm is especially noticable, so having a record of exactly how you're supposed to say a certain word or how something is said it the accent is a godsend. And it's not just that either, but also questions that where asked, group work that was done, culture explainations, all of this can be recalled exactly and repeated as much as you need until you've memorised it for yourself. Plus, when you factor in how expensive language courses can get, it really helps to maximise what you are getting out of each and every lesson. Even my teacher that that using one of these was a brilliant idea. The battery life and storage size are far more than sufficient to record even multiple 1 hour lessons, and when it does need to be emptied, it is a simple task of plugging it into your computer and uploading the files to a folder. Easy as can be, no different that moving photos from a camera. The recorder does take a little while to charge, and needs charging more often than it needs the storage emptied, but still its no different than your average phone.Could not recommend this higher than this. If you are taking a language course, or any course whatsoever, this will be a crucial lifespan in maximising the value of every lesson you have. It dials the efficiency of your learning up to 100%. You could not go wrong with this.

Review: Well that is a surprise, from the moment you pick up this surprisingly weighty (dense battery?) solid feeling device you get the impression you have a proper bit of professional gear here. The clear, full length display is another surprise, its touch operated and that function is sensitive and accurate. The acrylic window is pretty strong and I can't feel any flex. The buttons are almost flush for robustness (it would be nice if the small buttons were marked in a different colour as reading the moulded in symbols is really hard). The microphone module is secure and tough. The one thing I don't like so much is the time it takes to power up, you get 3 different screens of boot up graphics animations before its actually ready, takes a good while. Also shutting down requires 2 confirmations for it to do it.Lots of modes and features to suit pretty much any use, the supplied 32GB memory card provides a mass of recording time but one big omission (or I can't find it) is a remaining recording time counter, in the setup there are memory storage 'fuel gauge' bars but its not that useful.Otherwise its dead easy to use, once you get rid of all the initial 'hints' pages! Just pick a mode and off it goes recording as soon as it opens. Then choose to pause, save or exit. STT can be viewed live although it obviously lags behind transcribing but its continues to work in the background until it catches up.I gather the STT function varies in experience from person to person, but I was mightily impressed in its power for an off-line system. I managed to get lengthy transcripts 100% perfectly captured from my voice just by speaking reasonably clearly and medium paced. Astonishing!Battery life seems excellent too. Playback is reasonably loud, rather tinny but clear enough.Current price is £60, I can't say I have bought anything like this before so is it reasonable? it seems so although for that much I really would have expected some sort of soft or hard case with it to protect the screen. My daughter has already used this for a lecture recording with good success so its proved valuable.

Review: It is always nice to have a small audio recorder since there are many times when using one would be helpful. These are great for lectures, meetings, concerts, or even as a memo device for recording thoughts and ideas anytime you want. This voice recorder arrived very well packaged in a giftable box. It comes with a user manual and a USB charging cable. When you turn this on there is a great touch screen that covers the entire front of the device. You can maneuver through the menus by touching the screen. The main screen shows several different recording modes including interview, meeting, lecture, and pocket. To record all you do is hit one of these buttons and it starts right away. You can pause or stop your recordings from the touch screen or by using the buttons on the side of the recorder. When you are done a recording you are given the option to name and save the file. You can also set up so files are automatically backed up.I tried several different settings and the recordings are very clear and some of the best recordings I have ever heard from a mini audio recorder. There are 2 microphones, one with high sensitivity and one with low sensitivity. You can plug the recorder into your computer and listen to or transfer the files. There is also a built-in speaker so you can listen to your recordings anytime or you can use the headphone jack to listen privately. One really cool feature is the text-to-speech feature. If this is on, the recorder will not only record the audio but it will also transcribe the text from the dialog. This works very well. There is a slight lag but you can speak fast and it will catch up. I have attached a video showing this feature. There is a 32 Gig micro SD card installed where the recordings are saved. If this is full then the recorder will save to the 8 Gigs of internal memory. There is a built-in 1100mAh rechargeable battery that will give you more than enough recording time for even the longest lectures and meetings.I am very happy with this digital audio recorder. It is very well made, easy to use, and works very well. One thing I had not mentioned is that as you scroll through the menus, there are pop-ups displayed explaining the features and how to use them. This is very nice since you can start using this without ever reading the user manual. The price is very fair for something with so many features and I do recommend this.
Customers say
Customers like the functionality and sound quality of the voice recorder. They mention it works well in lecture recording mode and picks up their professor's voice very well. However, some customers have reported that the transcribe quality is not good and the text files are difficult to read and manage. Opinions differ on the ease of use.
