How does this vpn replace a vpn service? Is the pre-installed as secure as a paid vpn service?
The router can NOT replace the VPN service. You still need to pay the VPN service providers to get the VPN service.
Can it in repeater mode connect with a hotel wifi that uses a web page for access to it’s network?
Yes, you could connect to the public or hotels' WiFi.

PACKAGE CONTENTS: GL-A1300 (Slate Plus) router with 1-year limited warranty, power adapter (US Plug), Ethernet cable and user manual.
【OPEN SOURCE & PROGRAMMABLE】 Slate Plus runs on the latest OpenWrt 21.02 operating system and significantly reduced signal interference. You can customize the router and install applications based on your preferences.
【VPN CLIENT & SERVER】 OpenVPN and WireGuard pre-installed, compatible with 30+ VPN service providers. Max. VPN speed of 28 Mbps (OpenVPN); 170 Mbps (WireGuard)
【NETWORK STORAGE】Our network storage feature supports SAMBA and WebDav protocols. By plugging an external USB hard drive into the router, you can create a private network storage to store and share your documents.
【CAN BE WIDELY USED】 No matter you are at hotel, café, airport, restaurant, RV or other places, you could connect the router to the public WiFi hotspot and secure your connected devices. It is small and light, 118 x 84 x 33 mm (L*W*H) / 429g, which is very convenient to carry around while working or travelling.
【VPN INTERNET KILL SWITCH】 This is a countermeasure concept of activating a single shut off mechanism for all Internet traffic. If this feature is enabled, the router needs to run the a VPN client(OpenVPN or WireGuard) all the time, if any of the VPN client isn't running, the devices connected to the router are Not Allowed to access the Internet.
【VPN POLICIES】You can define VPN routing policies, it is possible to use VPN for a specific website/IP while maintaining a normal Internet traffic without VPN for others. 【Enable VPN or AdGuard Home Easily】Immediately enable/disable your selected feature (AdGuard Home or OpenVPN Client or WireGuard Client) through the physical toggle switch. ***The default setting of the button is NO Function, you need to set it in the admin panel before using this function.***
【ADGUARD HOME】AdGuard Home is a network-wide software for blocking ads & tracking. After you set it up, it'll cover ALL your home devices, and you don't need any client-side software for that, you could set it up from the online admin panel.
【ENCRYPTED DNS WITH CLOUDFLARE】DNS over TLS is a security protocol for encrypting and wrapping Domain Name System (DNS) queries and answers via the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. The goal of the method is to increase user privacy and security by preventing eavesdropping and manipulation of DNS data via man-in-the-middle attacks.
【SEPARATING PRIVATE WIFI AND GUEST WIFI】A guest Wi-Fi network is essentially a separate access point on your router. Your home devices are connected to one point and joined as a network, and the guest network is a different point that provides access to the Internet, but not to your home network. This could increase security for your network.

Title: **The Best Travel Router for Cruises and Beyond!**
Review: The TP-Link AC750 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router (TL-WR902AC) has completely transformed my internet experience while traveling, especially on cruises. This little device is a game-changer, and here's why I believe itâs the best travel router out there:The first thing youâll notice is its incredibly compact size. Itâs small enough to fit in your pocket, making it perfect for travel. Despite its size, it packs a lot of power and functionality, which is crucial when space is at a premium on cruise ships.Setting up the TP-Link AC750 is a breeze. The intuitive interface and clear instructions make it easy to configure, even for those who are not tech-savvy. Within minutes, I had a secure and reliable Wi-Fi network set up in my cabin. The performance of this travel router is outstanding. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, providing fast and stable internet connectivity. This is especially important on a cruise, where the onboard Wi-Fi can be spotty and congested. The TP-Link AC750 ensures a smooth and reliable connection, allowing me to stay connected with my family, stream videos, and browse the web without interruptions. The versatility of this router is impressive. It can function as a router, hotspot, range extender, client, and access point. This flexibility means it adapts to various scenarios, whether youâre in a hotel, a cruise cabin, or a remote location. On cruises, I use it in hotspot mode to share a single internet connection with multiple devices, saving on expensive Wi-Fi charges. The built-in USB port is a fantastic addition. It allows for media sharing from a USB drive, which is perfect for sharing photos and videos with travel companions. Additionally, the USB port can charge your devices, which is a handy feature when outlets are limited.Security is a top priority when using public or shared networks. The TP-Link AC750 offers robust security features, including WPA/WPA2 encryption, ensuring that my data remains protected. This peace of mind is invaluable, especially when connecting to potentially insecure networks on a cruise ship.Given its performance, features, and versatility, the TP-Link AC750 offers exceptional value for money. Itâs an affordable investment that significantly enhances your travel experience by providing reliable and secure internet access wherever you go.The TP-Link AC750 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router (TL-WR902AC) is the best travel router Iâve ever used, and itâs particularly suited for cruises. Its compact size, reliable performance, ease of setup, and versatile functionality make it an indispensable travel companion. If youâre looking for a dependable solution to stay connected while traveling, especially on a cruise, this router is a must-have. Five stars all the way!

Title: A Cruise Essentiak
Review: I recently took the GL.iNet GL-A1300 Pocket VPN Travel Router on a cruise with Carnival, and it performed exceptionally well for my family. Here's a detailed review based on our experience:**Pros:**- **Great for Travel:** This router is incredibly compact and easy to carry, making it a perfect travel companion. Its small size allowed me to easily fit it in my bag without taking up much space.- **Wi-Fi Sharing:** One of the standout features was the ability to connect to the ship's Wi-Fi and share it with multiple devices. We only paid for one device connection and used the router to provide Wi-Fi for the entire family, which was a huge cost saver.- **USB-C Powered:** The router is powered via USB-C, which is very convenient as it can be powered by the same charger used for most modern smartphones and laptops.- **Features:** The router comes with excellent features, including dual-band Wi-Fi, VPN capabilities (OpenVPN and WireGuard pre-installed), and network storage options. The setup was straightforward and user-friendly, even for someone who isn't particularly tech-savvy.- **Security:** With features like a VPN internet kill switch, VPN policies, and encrypted DNS with Cloudflare, it provides a robust layer of security, which is essential when using public Wi-Fi networks.**Cons:**- **Wi-Fi Repeater Strength:** The only noticeable downside was the speed drop-off when using it as a Wi-Fi repeater. While this is somewhat expected, it can still be a bit of an inconvenience if you're trying to maintain higher speeds.- **No Built-in Battery:** Although it's powered via USB-C, having a small built-in battery would be a nice addition for times when you don't have access to a power source. However, this isn't a major issue as long as you have a portable charger.Overall, the GL.iNet GL-A1300 is a fantastic travel router that offers great value for its price. Its compact size, ease of use, and rich feature set make it a must-have for frequent travelers. The slight speed drop-off in repeater mode is a minor inconvenience compared to the overall benefits it provides. Another feature I would appreciate is if the USB C port doubles as power and an Ethernet port so I could just plug it into my MacBook and have the same cable power the router and have a wired internet connection.
