At the same time, the cellular antenna is a detachable design. If you want to use an outdoor cellular antenna, the SMA connector also provides the possibility of an external cellular antenna.

Title: Works great in Jamaica.
Review: I run a mission in Jamaica and we need good reliable Internet for an associate that need to work remotely there and be on video as well as conference calls. A friend had a Flow network 4G cellular modem from Flow with a Flow SIM card. He assured me it would work in our hotel, but I was not so sure because of the concrete and steel in the building. So, while hoping his would work, I bought this Cudy AC1200 and an external cellular antenna to receive the signal. My friend installed his Flow modem with very poor results. I pulled out this Cudy modem, he inserted his Flow Sim and we connected the antenna we stationed on the balcony railing. It works great for the week we were there. My Jamaica friend is now using the Cody and is very, very pleased with the increased speed. We will be buying another one for a remote primary school in Jamaica.

Title: Works! Verizon 5g sim from my phone.
Review: Followed " Alex's comments and got 30mbs down. "So I use this for internet on the road with our RV. I grabbed a sim card from visible and was able to activate it without having to put it into a phone. The listing on Amazon says to set the TTL to 64 and HL to 65, but you want to set them both to 65. It'll be seen on the network as a phone instead of a hotspot. The other thing with visible in the listing, it says to set the apn to vsblinternet but use vzwinternet instead. vsblinternet didn't work getting the sim to connect, but it did with vzwinternet. The other big difference is to set the MTU to 1428 and it increases the speed greatly. The removable 4g lte antennas are nice in case you need to run those antennas outdoors for better reception. The admin interface is normal for people used to work inside of routers. It has all the functionality you want.Only had it for the set up period and will give it a more thorough test soon.25 people found this helpful"

Title: Not compatible with Verizon data plans
Review: If anyone is wondering, this modem/router is not compatible with Verizon. I bought it as a replacement for a defective MoFi router (I will never buy another MoFi - their customer service is terrible, bordering on dishonest). The Cudy would not connect, so I contacted Verizon's customer support, and they confirmed using the IMEI that the device is not compatible with their network.I'm not rating the device poorly because it seems like a decent, inexepnsive unit if you don't mind not having the most up to date LTE modem. I took a chance on it working with Verizon based on some other customers' comments, so that's on me. Glad I bought it through Prime so I can return it.

Title: Works better than expected
Review: We have a mountain cabin that has poor cell service and no internet. I can make a cell call from outside, but not inside the cabin. I bought this to see if the larger antennas would bring in cell service and if not I could use an external antenna. I received the router and installed a sim card from an extra phone I had. WiFi worked great, but not internet. I contact our provider, Consumer Cellular, and was told they would sent a new sim card that would work. I installed the new sim card and it worked without any other setup. I then took the router to our cabin, set it by a window, and we now have WiFi and internet at the cabin. I can remotely look at cameras and adjust the temperature. Very satisfied.Update: I have been using this router for about one and a half years now and am still satisfied with it. I did put up a nice external antenna to get a better signal. I also changed carriers from Consumer Cellular to Google Fi. Part of the reason for the change was that I got a free data SIM so an extra line is no longer required for the router. The Fi data SIM was inserted into the router and all worked without any other setup.

Title: Simply didn't work as advertised
Review: It gives me no joy to report that after many months of struggling with this router I could not get it to work properly for the basic tasks.I've been using it with one SIM chip, two SIMs and even installed a 'beta' version of the embedded software but it regularly drops the signal to the internet interrupting downloads, streaming, VOIP, video calls, etc. The drops can come as often as once an hour but seemingly random.(We use the exact same chips in our phones and other brand routers without this problem)In addition the router never failed over to the 2nd chip in order to pick up the slack when the first slot failed to connect. (Kind of the reason to have the 2nd chip, or so I thought)Finally the customer/tech support was not helpful - ignoring emails for weeks at a time, constantly asking for the exact same information over and over again and never offering any useful information or suggestion leave alone solution after 5 months of communication.

Title: It suffers from Wisp collisions
Review: I bought this and put it in an RV. I usually use it in WISP mode when I am in a RV park (we travel extensively). The LAN net runs on the 192.168.10.0 subnet. When I connect the device to a WiFi access point that is using 192.168.10.0 as its subnet, it connects but then can't be accessed any longer. I have tried different private subnets but collisions still happen from time to time. This device should sense the collision and at least provide a warning.

Title: Plug and Play w/verizon
Review: went through two of these by firstnum with no luck, using a verizon sim from an already working hotspotlooking to set up wireless for a friend who lives largely away from "civilization" as an upgrade to his old mobile hotspot "puck"Put in Sim, powered up, joined wireless network and verified it was online.as a precaution, went to Cudy's site and got the latest firmware, did speed tests and got 50 + mbps w/o issue. Ironically that was the same speed my laptop gets from my older AC1200 wireless (Vs my hardware connection of 500+) given he's used to getting may 5mb... this is fantastic for him.Very impressed by the interface and internals, lots of options, including adding more of these for a DIY Mesh. If you're looking for a router to run off SIM card or just something that will replace an existing router and give you LTE roll-over this has you covered.
